    Chocolate bars

There is a divine grittiness to ChocoSol's chocolate, which makes sense given their sun-soil-soul mantra. You take a bite and you know this is quality chocolate. Not sickeningly sweet, not overly refined or perfectly processed. But chocolate with character and story - the white cacao swirls of jaguars, the crunch of coffee gods, the merry cheer of cherries and Christmas. ChocoSol is different, in its bean-to-bar mission, and in the taste and type and tone of the chocolate its sun-soil-soul mantra produces. Highly recommend!

Chocolate Heaven! ChocoSol Traders' Eating Chocolate is just amazing. Dark Chocolate is just my favourite Rustico line has varieties of bars which are 65% to 100% cacao and the bars are stone-ground for approximately 8 hours. Five Chili Bullet (75% cacao) - spicy and you actually can taste the individual chili flakes Vanilla Sea Salt (65% cacao) Mon Cherry D'Amour (65% cacao) - There are chucks of dried cherry inside Jaguar Chocolate (82% cacao) is one of their unique offerings made from a very rare albino cacao bean known as Theobromae Bicoloris. According to their website, they are the only chocolate producer in the World that make this type of chocolate. Chocosol Traders were founded in 2004 in Oaxaca, Mexico but have been based in Toronto since 2006. Thanks so much in bring such amazing Mexican chocolate to Toronto! Cacao is really the "Food of God"

Just an update: I've now encountered staff that are very knowledgeable about their Chocolate and I feel that this is the general rule. Mats was super friendly and helpful and also gave generous bonuses with my purchases. My current favorite bar is the 82% "Sinfully Vanilla". Despite the volatility of the Vanilla market they're not afraid to use it and it's the perfect balance of bitter and sweet. I"m warming up to the 65% "Coffee Crunch" although it's just a little too sweet for my tastes, so I like to mix a piece with a 99% portion. The Albino Jaguar 75% bar is, for all intents and purposes, a TRUE "Blonde Chocolate" bar. Although Chocosol doesn't use milk, the Jaguar beans are mild and inoffensive and, when in bar form, almost have a milky taste and consistency. Fans of milk chocolate will find a lot to love here. I simply adore it and right now it's my second favorite.

    100% cacao, no added sugar.

This is a chocolate maker shop. They buy (the cacao) direct from farmers and make the chocolate on site. Christie, the staff, shared her knowledge about the whole process and her enthusiasm was genuine. This is one of the few places where one can purchase 100% cacao bars without sugar! I highly recommend visiting if you want to taste natural chocolate without being over laden with sugar.

    Half bars - $6, Full bars - $10

A small storefront with a larger space in the back to process the chocolate. The girl who was working was very friendly and seemed as though she was very enthusiastic about the product! I tried a couple of different types of chocolate that was made there. I'm not a die-hard chocolate fanatic, so I wasn't really up to buying a half bar for $6-7 dollars. Full bars were $10 which, as a non-chocolate person, seems a bit steep. Honestly, I don't think I would be able to taste a difference between a cheap vs. an expensive bar. I got a cold cup of drinking chocolate to try for $3. The cup was fairly small, but it was enough as it was fairly rich. Plastic cup was compostable, so I appreciated the fact that their mentality extended to their serving containers as well. Storefront was stuffed up with boxes of storage. I think I would've had a better impression if it was cleared up and there was more merchandise on display.

The aesthetic and the attention to detail when it comes to these desserts flawless, and exceptional. I enjoyed every single bite of my dessert. For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. They also brought the food to our table, including the drinks. I 100% would go back to this location.

The strawberry shortcake is fluffy, just the right about of cream and sweetness. The matcha tiramisu is rich in matcha flavour and just the right amount of sweet to offset the bitter matcha. The regular tiramisu has a strong and balanced coffee flavour. The black sesame cake has a great texture and strong black sesame flavour. I enjoy vanilla addition too. The mango cheesecake is really smooth and a real mango flavour (no artificial flavour). It's been popular when I bring cakes to gatherings , but I also enjoy popping by to grab a slice. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. I can't believe the experience I just had here. I've been coming here for 10 years. Despite the…read moresparse selection, the stale bulk candy and the expired goods, I came here because I loved the idea of an independent candy store. I will never again enter this business. I spent over $50 on a few items. The owner gave me an itemized receipt. As I was leaving the store, I saw that I was charged for the jumbo version of two items I purchased. I went back to the owner and respectfully showed him the receipt and the items. He was incredibly defensive, scanned the item and showed me the item was marked at the price it should be, but still showed as 'jumbo.' I asked him to scan the jumbo item so I could see I was not being charged for a jumbo and it truly was a system error. He scanned it and nothing was showing up. I'm not entirely sure on this point - but I feel like he was trying to enter a higher price for the jumbo as I stood there so he could justify the incorrect price. I asked for either a refund or to be given the jumbo item since that's what I was being charged for. I don't care if there's an error in your system. Fix it - it's not my problem. The real problem was how this was dealt. The owner wouldn't let me get two words in. He spoke over me for a solid 5 minutes. I kept asking if I could be given the courtesy of explaining what was wrong since he clearly wasn't understanding. I said 'I've been shopping here for ten years. Can you please just let me explain what the problem is without talking over me?" And he said "I don't care. This store's been open for 25 years. It doesn't need you." I was floored. Just a verbal barrage of condescension and abuse. It's a shame. Ten years of patronage out the drain. It's funny that he wrote a review on here asking patrons to give the store another chance. After that display, I'm making it my mission to spread the word on how you shouldn't. The service was the worst I've ever experience in my life. Half the items I purchased are literally expired. Everything is insanely marked up ($10 for a 180g chocolate bar, $3.29 for a regular sized push pop that's not imported). You can also find most everything elsewhere. Bulk barn has a great selection of Jelly Belly's. Also - check your receipts before leaving.
