Perfect father's day gift :P
Diana S.

If you looove gourmet chocolate, sweets, and gelato, Nutty Chocolatier might become your next fav spot in town! Definitely gotta stop by for a gelato (or ice cream - they sell these in the back) or individual chocolates whenever you visit The Beaches. The store is quite large and as soon as you enter the warm chocolate aroma hits you and you feel like Charlie Bucket. They sell gelato (small cup = $3.50, medium and large cup sizes also available) right at the front, but I noticed today that many of their flavors are fruit-based (are they actually sorbets?) rather than creamier, nutty varieties (pistachio, etc), which I prefer more. The color of the gelato choices also look questionable, to be honest - I was told that neon gelatos are a no-no. Better head across the street and east a few blocks to Ed's Real Scoop for a better scoop experience. Perfect place for gifts! Many pre-packaged chocolates. We bought father's day gifts here today - chocolates shaped like fishing supplies arranged in a fake fishing kit :) Lost 1 star for being kind of expensive. Not ridiculous, but think gift price range.

Queen East is contributing to a newly formed addiction to chocolate. I swear, first Dufflet and now the Nutty Chocolatier! I never used to even like chocolate! Ugh! The smell from this store is absolutely delish, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Never judge a book by its cover, this is more than just a chocolate store. They sell candy, ice cream, premium and exotic chocolates, even love token chocolate (chocolate body paint anyone?). So many cute things in this store, where do I begin? First off, anyone other than my family obsessed with Pawn Cocktail chips? ONLY found at Mark and Spencers!! Well look no further because they have pawn cocktail chips here! 5 small bags for $5. Pricey, but hard to find! They sell homemade licorice.. Not just the strawberry and nasty black ones, but cool flavours, like root beer! A pack of different flavours sell for $4.99. Body paint mentioned above, a little kinky, but hey you know if they sell it at a chocolate store the quality must be some what good. This store is just the epitome of awesome! It really is...

The pralines and cream ice cream (small scoop for $3.29) was absolutely delicious and a pleasant surprise.

Review Highlights - Nutty Chocolatier

As well, check out their shelves of other confectionary items including a nook at the back with British fare like salt-water taffy, Flake, and Walker's Crisps.

The aesthetic and the attention to detail when it comes to these desserts flawless, and exceptional. I enjoyed every single bite of my dessert. It was fluffy and it melted in my mouth, and I wish I could just eat my screen right now just looking at it lol. For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. They also brought the food to our table, including the drinks. I 100% would go back to this location.

Each…read morecake I've tried so far has been nothing short of amazing and i've converted (and been converted) people to dessert lady. The strawberry shortcake is fluffy, just the right about of cream and sweetness. The matcha tiramisu is rich in matcha flavour and just the right amount of sweet to offset the bitter matcha. The regular tiramisu has a strong and balanced coffee flavour. The black sesame cake has a great texture and strong black sesame flavour. I enjoy vanilla addition too. The mango cheesecake is really smooth and a real mango flavour (no artificial flavour). It's been popular when I bring cakes to gatherings , but I also enjoy popping by to grab a slice. They have 50% off older slices which is a steal if you visit on the right day. Haven't tried their cafe food or drinks but they do have a nice ambiance and seating.

This place does a great brunch/breakfast as well as have a gorgeous selection of baked goods. It's a great place to relax as well as take to go. The service is really nice and helpful both over the phone and in person. It's probably easier to for them to order ahead of time, but they've been super accommodating with my last minute orders as well. Their prices are honestly quite good for the Yorkville area as well and I've seen baked goods and cakes go for much more around here.

Delicious desserts, waffles ice cream, smoothies, and more. We ordered: Medium Mango Smoothie - $7.95 Simple Pleasures Waffle - $15.50 The waffle was light and fluffy and the toppings of fruit and chocolate were a great combination. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. Their seating area is good for friends and groups to loiter. Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop, they have MANY OUTLETS!!

For items: we chose strawberry, banana, halal marshmallow, waffle bites, brownie bites, and Oreo with a round of cappuccino's ($5.50 each). The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. The only criticism I could have was it took a while to get our order. So, it's not one of those places you can be dipping into expecting to be done in 20mins! We stayed for nearly 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

THIS PLACE IS MY ABSOLUTEST SECRET, VERY NAUGHTY moderately sinful, INDULGENCE…read more First off, the place is CLEAN. This is an obsession with me. Second, the guys who run this place - polite to everyone - smart storekeepers. A smile and a polite word keep people coming back. Now to the important stuff: A huge range of chocolates from the United Kingdom ... OMG ... toffees, choccies, the works. Some really good biscuits and good, old British "crisps" (Walkers). This place is my not-so-secret indulgence ... mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ahhh ... yes! Their products are very, very fresh. They pay attention to expiry dates. This is important - you are paying premium dollar for imported choccies and biscuits and you want them to be fresh (which they are, here). Enjoy! P.S. And if you're into it ... they also carry TINNED HAGGIS from Scotland.

I can't believe the experience I just had here. I've been coming here for 10 years. Despite the…read moresparse selection, the stale bulk candy and the expired goods, I came here because I loved the idea of an independent candy store. I will never again enter this business. I spent over $50 on a few items. The owner gave me an itemized receipt. As I was leaving the store, I saw that I was charged for the jumbo version of two items I purchased. I went back to the owner and respectfully showed him the receipt and the items. He was incredibly defensive, scanned the item and showed me the item was marked at the price it should be, but still showed as 'jumbo.' I asked him to scan the jumbo item so I could see I was not being charged for a jumbo and it truly was a system error. He scanned it and nothing was showing up. I'm not entirely sure on this point - but I feel like he was trying to enter a higher price for the jumbo as I stood there so he could justify the incorrect price. I asked for either a refund or to be given the jumbo item since that's what I was being charged for. I don't care if there's an error in your system. Fix it - it's not my problem. The real problem was how this was dealt. The owner wouldn't let me get two words in. He spoke over me for a solid 5 minutes. I kept asking if I could be given the courtesy of explaining what was wrong since he clearly wasn't understanding. I said 'I've been shopping here for ten years. Can you please just let me explain what the problem is without talking over me?" And he said "I don't care. This store's been open for 25 years. It doesn't need you." I was floored. Just a verbal barrage of condescension and abuse. It's a shame. Ten years of patronage out the drain. It's funny that he wrote a review on here asking patrons to give the store another chance. After that display, I'm making it my mission to spread the word on how you shouldn't. The service was the worst I've ever experience in my life. Half the items I purchased are literally expired. Everything is insanely marked up ($10 for a 180g chocolate bar, $3.29 for a regular sized push pop that's not imported). You can also find most everything elsewhere. Bulk barn has a great selection of Jelly Belly's. Also - check your receipts before leaving.
