When you walk into this cute little store you are welcomed by the friendly staff and the smell of chocolate. With such a large selection of flavours and different types of chocolates, it was hard to make a decision. The staff had great recommendations and made it easier to choose. The Himalayan sea salt with caramel was a dream. Perfectly sweet, salty and creamy. I wish I ordered 6 of these. The coconut dark truffle and intense dark were good choices. They were not overly sweet and had a lovely creamy interior. The pistachio and chili were my least favourite. The cream truffles and chocolates are handmade every day and they use only natural ingredients. You really can't go wrong with anything in this store!

We had come out…read moreof the GAP Factory Store and saw this Purdy Chocolatier store diagonally across from it. I have only seen Purdys at shopping malls. It was my first time seeing a store in a plaza. This Purdys is next to Burgers on Fleek. Does anyone say on fleek anymore?! I remember one of my interns using that phrase back in 2017 or 2018. I would never use slang as a part of a business name, as it becomes dated as time goes on. I frankly hadn't heard of that phrase for years until I saw this business. I digress. I was first introduced to Purdys by two former interns. On their last day of their internship, they both got me chocolates from Purdys. One box had assorted chocolates and the other one had all hedgehog chocolates. Without any hesitation, we headed over to this store after we dropped off our recent purchases at our respective cars. The shopping damage continued at Purdys for me. We walked in. It was a pleasant store. I saw a display for Lunar New Year chocolates. Cool! My friend recently got vegan chocolate from Purdys for Christmas and loved it. She's more of a milk chocolate person than dark. I'm the opposite. I decided to try the vegan dark trail mix bar. I found out that this store has a small section of no-sugar-added chocolates on the right, in the corner, when you first walk in. Yay! I found hedgehog chocolates that didn't have any sugar added and snatched a box. I spoke to the woman at the counter. She was great to point out that the no-sugar-added bars were BOGO. Sweet! Okay, not literally. I noticed a huge chocolate Santa that was 50% off. I asked the woman whether it was hollow. You'd think that I'd get a yes or no response. Nope, I got neither. She said that some parts were thicker than other. So, I'm guessing it's hollow for the most part. I'd die eating that chocolate Santa. Maybe if I paced myself, I could freeze most of it and indulge whenever I wanted to. The woman at the store was nice. She placed everything in a purple bag. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and all was great. This store also has ice cream. I've never had Purdys ice cream, so I'll need to return. I love the chocolate that I bought. The quality is great. Yummy. The no-added-sugar chocolates were perfect. I'm a fan. I still need to have the vegan one. I got sidetracked by all the hedgehogs... haha! This store is awesome. I'll definitely return for more chocolate goodies and more. (8)

Soma chocolate maker is by far one of the best chocolatiers I've tried in the city. The flavors they have available for truffles and chocolate bars really make it a sensorial experience. It was HARD to not try and get every single thing they have -- including the hot chocolate and ice cream flavors. If they have it available, you MUST try the comet. there's just something so dreamy about chocolate and fruit. the comet is essentially a macadamia nut covered by milk chocolate, pistachios, passion fruit flavors, and dusted in cacao powder. I'm literally gonna go back before they close in an hour just to get a couple more to take home for friends! It's THAT good! We also tried a few truffles like the cacao nib, milk chocolate almond, and yuzu with white chocolate all in all, if you're looking for quality, thoughtfully crafted chocolates -- either for yourself, a lover, or to gift, I strongly reco stopping by.

A lot of options available at this shop and great spot for gifts or stocking stuffers. A bit pricey in my opinion and I haven't personally tried their chocolates prior to visiting this shop. Keep in mind, I noticed there were a lot of products that contained nuts so be mindful if you or someone you want to gift has any allergies. Overall, it seems more like a takeout spot to grab and take to with you. They have a selection of coffee and hot chocolate to choose from as well. Service was A-OK, no complaints but don't forget to bring a reusable bag or you'll have to pay for a paper bag to put your chocolate goods in.

I've only had their chocolate bars (where you can find them at select places around the city) as well as their soft serve during the summers. Their store is small where there is no seating. Upon entering, you are met with a display of bonbon chocolates. To the side they have a wall full of their chocolate bars and they also have a freezer with their ice creams/soft serves as well. Their bonbon flavours are quite unique, many of them being Asian flavours (think tangerine jasmine, ume black sesame, coconut pandan, Ovaltine, tom yum lemongrass, White Rabbit, salted egg, durian, Pei Pa Kao (if you know you know!)). Their chocolate bars also are quite unique as well like the mi goreng (Indonesian fried noodle), durian, hojicha, and caramel pork floss). I had their soft serve last year which was a lemongrass gelato with yuzu/caramel & jasmine tea agar jelly. This year when I went, they had toasted milk with Pei Pa Kao (regular cup is $6.50, a mini cup is $5). Such interesting and unique pairings, something I've never had before (especially pair the Pei Pa Kao with ice cream haha!). Overall, a chocolate gem in East Chinatown. I ended getting the 16-piece assorted box and they were $57! I have to say this was one of the most unique and memorable chocolate experiences I had. Each piece felt like a mini adventure, combining bold, unexpected flavors you wouldn't normally associate with chocolate-- but they work beautifully. Standouts for me were the dragonfruit black sesame, Thai tea, and tom yum lemongrass. The craftsmanship behind each flavor is incredible, yet somehow addictive. These chocolates is something to savor slowly. Don't pop these like candy-- smell it, feel it, look at it, and taste it slowly.... Also I love the color on each individual ones!! Makes me not want to eat it. Shoutout to the chocolatier, such an incredible experience! I'll be back!
