In and around my first visit, my friend purchased the pistachio raspberry bon bon and I had to go back, within that week I returned and purchased the same one. IT WAS HEAVEN! The chocolate bon bons... Bons bons seem to be all the rage these days... I prefer truffles tbh and while tasty these bon bons are, I gotta say I likely will not be getting them anytime soon again. I will admit there is an artistry to creating such pretty, perfect round chocolate treats... The images in their legend booklet describing the flavours look identical to the bon bons when they are halfed... Such an art I tell ya! Today I purchased, a Stollen, a Florentine, Salted Caramel, Salted Pistachio and Raspberry Dark. The Stollen had a bit of alcohol in it. Not a fan of that aspect of it, yet it was tasty. Gingerbready and delicious. I wish I would've known about the alcohol though. The Florentine was nutty, fruity, salty and imo well balanced. Salted caramel, is hard to mess up... Very delicious! The salted pistachio was noticeably pistachio-ey yet could've also used an extra punch of pistachio flavour. It's got to be strong man! And saving the best for last.... That Raspberry Dark was my favourite by far and the only one worth purchasing especially at over $2.00 a pop. With that being mentioned, they cost a pretty penny. Being a specialty chocolate, it can be expected. A box of 4 comes out to $13.50 or so and the one individual I got cost $3.50... yikes. Perhaps because 2 of them being seasonal flavours (Florentine and stollen) they are priced a little higher... Oh captilasim and turning a dollar at Xmas time... What joy! Either way I would not have known had I not experienced any of this. So I am happy I purchased them afterall. Also their raspberry pistachio, one of their classics is another favourite of mine that is worth the investment. It wasn't available today yet when it is, that one is an absolute MUST! So, I wanted to find a chocolatier that satisfies needs of traditionalists, and helps me come back to the basics! Stubble Chocolates is exactly what I have been looking for! The box had the following flavors: # Champagne (truffle) # Praline Feuilletine (bonbon) # Caramal sea salt (bonbon) # Attache (truffle) # Kir Royale (truffle) # Marzipan (bonbon) Most memorable piece was Attache. Smoothly melts in the mouth. The peak flavor (passion fruit) comes later and lingers to the finish. The runner up was Carame sea salt. The texture was elegant. The moment I felt the flakiness of sea salt crystal, then it melts into the sweet caramel, then it integrates with a bitterness of the dark chocolate. Multi-dimensional and well harmonized. Praline Feuilletine's hazelnut filling with delicate & crispy crape flakes was delicious. The thin dark chocolate shell completes the flavor. No two chocolates were alike. Minimal and humble design. Yet beautifully & carefully made. The chocolate itself was high quality with subtle, long lasting flavor. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!! I also got Mini Florentines for my partner the whisky lover :). My absolute fav was the Raspberry Black Sesame, which made me go wow as soon as I took a bite. Slight crunch of the sesame offering a nice rich nuttiness, and the raspberry offered a tart contrast. Close second was the Pineapple Tatin. Kind of reminded me of a Taiwanese pineapple pastry. Every piece had its ingredients shine through, and the chocolate was not too sweet. We savoured the single box for days, going through 1-2 a day, and we so so look forward to trying more from this shop. Prices are quite steep, but I think they match the taste, quality, and design. Definitely a place for special occasions, unless you have no wallet worries heh.

And I have to give away those chocolates. One of my friends bought me the coconut mango cream filled chocolates $12 for the 5 pack. I went to exchange it. I found out they have a NO RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY. The clerk stated, "even if you just bought it and changed your mind, I can't even exchange it for you." For chocolates as expensive as these are I would expect better. That's the worst policies for a high end chocolatier I've heard of. I would expect you to stand by your products, not tell your customers to suck up your distasteful failed chocolate "creations". My last reason for shopping here was the sustainable cocoa farming they spout about on the website, fooling into believing they have some ethical framework they follow. This unfortunately doesn't go as far as putting any efforts into stopping child labour from their cocoa producers. Hopefully we can grow a conscience, because with the prices you charge, you can afford to act ethically.

This Purdy's location is pretty busy because of the foot traffic in the mall. It also keeps longer hours than the one at Sheppard Center. I think they need more staff! There was only one lady there to take orders so people had to wait. This location also has ice cream, which is popular with kids of course. That makes it more busy than usual. Anyway, the experience was perfectly fine. I waited only a little while & then was served. I will say that I was expecting the chocolates to be put into a small box but they put it into a bag instead. A box would have been nicer. The chocolates are a bit pricey but I was okay with that.

The truffles were a good mix of shapes and ingredients, adding variety. The person who received them said they were delicious. The shop is small and cozy, with some chocolates on display as samples of what you can order. There is ample parking where the shop is located. Currently, you can check their webpage for products and call to place an order and go pick up, but Heidi (the owner) said the location will be open for offline retail soon too! Looking forward to getting other chocolates from this location in the future. They seem to be a popular spot for Easter and Valentine's orders.

I made it stove top with 1% milk, making sure to add the mix once the milk was hot, and then using a soft spatula to squish the chocolate lumps. The instructions said 4tbsp for mild and 6tbsp for intense. I went 5tbsp. The hot chocolate was very cocoa first, rich and delicious, not too sweet.
