I was in Georgetown and decided to check out this dessert cafe that I heard about. A cute little place with an array of pastries and bonbons. A bit pricey, but I selected a slice of Lemon Berry Marscapone Cake to have with my afternoon tea. It was dreamy. They also have gelato and coffee. You must stop in for a goodie if you're nearby. 21

I had tried Franks Donuts and, let me tell you, this is much better than Franks. For the five…read moredonuts, we got, it was $3.80, which is a great price for donuts. The average end, we got the glazed and the jelly filled. They were ok, but nothing terribly special. On the higher end, the blueberry cake had a lot of blueberry in it and the donut was nice and moist. The caramel long john had a great amount of filling and the glaze had a great toffee flavor to it. The best was the vanilla glazed cake. The vanilla glaze was on point and the cake had a lemon cake flavor to it. It was unexpected and very delicious! Definitely give this place a visit in the future!

It's a bit of a small, but roomy space with a donut counter, a little bistro table, and plenty of standing room. I'm not sure how business looks the rest of the day, but at right before 7am, about half of the donuts in the glass display case seemed to be gone already. I didn't notice any prices, but three dozen donuts were about $23 (roughly $7-10 per box). Great deal! Oh, and the shop does accept debit/credit cards. The man working the counter (I assume it is probably Mike....) was very personable and friendly. Great service, there! I ate two of the donuts today --- they were perfect (just the right texture and a minimal amount of crumbs) and delicious. Definitely keeping this donut shop in mind for future treats!

After leaving yet another distillery, the ladies in our group wanted to head to Georgetown for some shopping. But before the shopping could begin, we needed lunch. We had stopped at Fava's a few weeks earlier with another group of friends for breakfast, and it was excellent. With that great experience in mind, we decided to try Fava's again, this time for lunch. The décor is classic Old Town Kentucky--exactly the kind of place that brings back childhood memories of small-town restaurants. Charming, comfortable, and familiar. We seated ourselves and looked over the menu. I went with the chili cheese hot dog with fries. My wife and one of our friends chose the open-faced Reuben, and the last member of our group ordered the club sandwich. Every dish was excellent. The club sandwich was so large it required a to-go box. Before leaving, everyone except me ordered pie to go-- Fava's pies are legendary, at least to my wife and me. I skipped dessert this time and immediately regretted missing their ice cream options. We dropped the pies off in the car (it was cold enough outside to keep them safe), and then the ladies headed off to explore the shops of Georgetown. And I cannot leave out the wait staff, very attentive and friendly . This was my second visit to Fava's, and both times have been outstanding. I'm already looking forward to our next "shopping trip" to Georgetown so I can enjoy their food again--and this time, I won't miss out on the ice cream.

I was too full to try their pie, and it was too hot for me to get one to-go, but it looked amazing! No major complaints, but when we arrived, someone just yelled from kinda far back for us to seat ourselves and then the available tables didn't look like they'd been cleaned.

But that's not even the worst part my son got the three-piece chicken tender meal, which was a joke! This time it actually pissed him off because it's not even chicken tenders. The pictures prove it. It's basically a finger size all batter so old that you couldn't even chew it! What a joke this place is I mean come on! Not to mention we both had meals yet the biscuits were old and hard as a rock. I ordered a two piece chicken with two sides got charged an additional $.50 for mac & cheese and as you can see in the pictures, they didn't even bother to put any in the cup. You know that's less than 2 ounces not even 2 ounces. I can't say anything about ambience because there's never anybody in there so it's always clean. The sad thing is I wish this place would do better. Trust me pay a little extra and go to Cane's the food's a lot better. I know I will not waste another diamond in this place.

I've had it at other locations before around Lent and they were great. Not so at the Georgetown location. It was cold, soggy and sloppy. I took 2 bites and threw it out it was so nasty. Thinking to myself "well, it is a chicken place, give it another try", I went in today for chicken tenders. They were lukewarm at best. A couple of times they've gotten it right but mostly it's a fail. It's too bad because it's hard to beat Popeye's when run properly but this location needs some love. I'll stick to Chik-fil-a across the street for my fast food needs as they are consistently good.
