In the meantime there is only a selection of pastries and some other items in a glass refrigerated cart, coffee, tea and the like. However the lobby setting is upscale and comfortable as you would expect in a St. Regis. As if the paleta choice isn't tough enough, then you can choose toppings like a white or dark chocolate dip, caramel drizzle, graham cracker crumbs, Oreo, waffle pieces, and torched marshmallow. Each paleta is a work of art, and they usually come out looking picture-perfect. The shop is small with limited space for seating, but there are cute decorations for fun photo opps. A couple of outdoor tables, too. Service is speedy, even when lines are long. Prices are high, especially when toppings get involved. Two paletas with two toppings each will run close to $30. This particular Morelias location in Surfside is Kosher, so check hours before you go since they are closed during Shabbat (Friday night & Saturday) and some Jewish holidays.
