Self-checkout was clearly not a practical option with that many items. Instead of directing customers with overflowing carts to scan and bag everything themselves, I would have appreciated seeing available employees open another register and help move the line along. Executive Members pay extra for added benefits. Costco should staff the early shopping hours well enough to make those benefits worthwhile
