Dr. Conley is a great dentist. I've been to him twice - once for a cleaning and again for a filling. He was very thorough and took his time to explain to me what was going on. I had questions concerning the filling, so he drew me a picture to show what he was doing! Then when I had the filling done, he wanted to make sure I was completely comfortable with it. He even went back after the procedure when I expressed hesitancy about how it felt. The only thing I've got to comment on is if you're going to need an x-ray for wisdom teeth, I would suggest going somewhere else. You need a panoramic and unfortunately, Dr. Conley will not be able to provide you one. Wish I'd known before I actually gotten the x-rays, but what can you do? I ended up paying 109.00 out of pocket to go to a different dentist to get them done because my insurance only covered one Xray per annual coverage.

A big thing for me is that I have never had an issue of being charged incorrectly on my insurance. Plenty of times there seems to be a problem with insurance and what is covered but they get it right at Audubon. I do appreciate that they go over what is covered and it provides me with edification of what I have as being covered. They also do not try to upsell you on unnecessary procedures because it is "recommended". Overall, it is a good place if you are just looking for cleaning and the routine twice a year exam. I cannot speak about anything like tooth removal or any other dental procedures. Actually, I am glad that I do not have experience avoiding getting in those situations.

Sadly, my experience has gone downhill so badly that I can no longer stay quiet. I have been in pain since July. After an extraction and multiple return visits, Audubon kept doing x-rays, finding nothing, and billing me--while I continued to report pain. It took months before I was finally sent to a specialist, who instantly found the problem: a cracked tooth. Something Audubon's dentists should have caught much earlier. Things got worse when my dentist was on vacation. I was in severe pain, and I was told another dentist in the office would help. Instead, that dentist refused to treat me and told the office manager to just schedule me with my regular dentist--two weeks later! Imagine being told to "just wait" when you can't eat on either side of your mouth and have already been suffering for months. Thankfully, I found another dentist on my own. They saw me the very next day, diagnosed the problem correctly, and scheduled me for treatment this week. That's how dental care is supposed to work. To be fair, the office manager Julie was kind and tried to help, but she had no support from the dentists. The failure is with the dentists and with Audubon's system of care. Bottom line: I can no longer trust this practice. The negligence, lack of compassion, and repeated dismissal of my pain is unacceptable. If you value timely and competent care, look elsewhere. A shame because I know they can do better!

Over the past 60 years that I've been going to dentists I've had lots of good ones and a couple…read morethat were notably bad. I have been seeing Dr Johnson for about ten years and she is the best so far. It's a two-person office. She does ALL the dental work and that includes cleaning. (for me that was impressive) Her assistant, Saliou, takes care if appointments, insurance issues, and other non-dental activities. The space is clean and friendly. There's always classical music in the background. The appointments are spaced so that (at least for me) there's never a wait. Her manner is calm and conversational and she has always been happy to explain what she's doing and describe any options I might have. Finally, the one or two times I've had to reschedule at the last minute they've always been agreeable and understanding. My sense is their priority is pleasantness over profit. To that end, Dr Johnson focuses on general dentistry. The times I've needed something like a root canal or gum surgery she's referred me out and it's always been to another outstanding practitioner. There's a reason she keeps winning "Best Dentist..." awards an my only hope is that people won't read this and start to flood her appointment book.

He assessed that the tooth was salvageable, and cleaning the canals and placing a calcium hydroxide fill, succeeded in saving the tooth. As a former dentist myself, I can recognize technical excellence, and Dr. Johnson is clearly one of the top clinicians in the field of endodontics. For any root canal concerns, he would be my first choice. In addition to his superb technical skill, Dr. Johnson is also an exceptionally personable, considerate dentist. Later in the day that my wife saw him, he called her to ensure she was comfortable and out of pain.

More importantly, my procedures were painless and thorough (but not quick). It was a lot of work to clean the now infected root my regular dentist missed twice. I would definitely return to him again and wholeheartedly recommend him. Haven't had a problem with that molar since Dr. Johnson treated it, and have been pain-free for 3+ years now. Since moved to New York, but I would drive back to DC if the need arose in a heartbeat. PS I don't understand the review left by Mr. S. Once I enrolled in a dental plan, I found Dr. Brodowsky listed as a participating provider by my carrier, and deciding to go just because his office happens to be two minutes from my house. Having heard, and experienced, horror stories of lying, creepy dentists giving unnecessary procedures, I went into my appointment very wary. But, I was very pleasantly surprised. Dr. Brodowsky is very friendly, quick, and accessible and was honest about my mouth issues. The staff, especially the receptionist, go far above and beyond what I typically experience in medical offices. I was blown away by that first visit, and my subsequent visits.
