What makes it even more special is that the hairstyle I ended up wearing was completely different from what we had originally discussed during my hair trial. When she started working on my hair on the wedding day, I decided on a whim that I wanted to change things up, and she was incredibly supportive and accommodating. She never made me feel bad about changing my mind and instead embraced the new idea and made it look absolutely beautiful! I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Honestly, Kary was so much more than a hair and makeup artist on my wedding day. She was practically a bridesmaid bridal secretary, and personal fairy godmother all rolled into one! My wedding was quite large, with so many moving parts, little details, and things happening all at once. Kary worked so hard throughout the day, and several of my other vendors specifically commented on how incredibly helpful she was and how grateful they were to have her there. She was always willing to step in, help wherever she could, and make sure things kept moving along. Having someone so talented, capable, and genuinely invested in making the day go smoothly was invaluable. She went so far beyond what I ever expected, and I honestly don't know how I could thank her enough. I am also especially grateful for how she helped my bridesmaids that morning. They weren't happy with the hairstyles they had originally received from the assistant artist, and Kary took the time to help fix their hair and make sure they felt beautiful and confident, too. Both of them told me afterward how much they loved her work and how impressed they were with her hairstyling skills. As a bride, it meant so much to me that she cared not only about making me happy but also about making sure the people I love felt their best. That kind of thoughtfulness and generosity really says a lot about who she is. Another thing I really appreciated was that we actually got to work with Kary three separate times: for my hair trial, our engagement photoshoot, and our wedding day! She also helped with touch-ups for my groom. Each time, I felt like her work got better and better, and it was so lovely getting to know her throughout the process. By the time our wedding day arrived, I felt so comfortable with her and trusted her completely, even when I decided to change my hairstyle at the last minute. She is incredibly talented, adaptable, and attentive, and I think that trust made the entire experience even more special. I also absolutely loved that Kary took behind-the-scenes pictures and videos throughout the day! Weddings go by SO quickly, and so much of the day feels like a complete blur when you're the bride. Having those extra little moments captured was such a thoughtful bonus and gave us another way to remember everything that happened behind the scenes. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our experience and wanted us to have wonderful memories of the day, not just beautiful hair and makeup. Her work on my hair was also impressive - I wanted my hair half up/half down but was worried that the high winds at our ceremony site might ruin it. It turned out to be perfectly fine though, and my curls lasted throughout the entire night. As some other reviewers have mentioned, her husband helps with communications and bookings, and finalizing things with him may take a few tries. Luckily I found working with him to be fine, particularly when I switched over to texts for smaller inquiries, and as long as I was careful to double check details. The assistant she brings with her varies and some seem to be better than others (assistant for my friend's wedding was good, while the one for my wedding seemed to be less proficient at doing hair). However, Kary will step in and provide assistance / guidance where needed. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Kary. She goes above and beyond for a HMUA; she'll even help with your dress for portraits and does constant touch ups until she leaves. She's so so so great that I promise you just need to book her, you won't regret it!

Any anxiety I had went away immediately when I walked to the shop and Krista waved hi to me. She communicated with me throughout, made sure I was happy and comfortable, and let me know what was happening while she was doing my hair. I have really thick unruly curly hair in my opinion and she tamed it and styled it and I already know even after I wash my hair and do my natural curls, it's going to look amazing. Before our makeup lessons, Shana reviewed the makeup and tools I already had, and gave me a list of makeup options to get the look I wanted and where to get them! We met over zoom for our hair and makeup lessons and I was able to record myself going through the steps. Shana gave me so much amazing advice from managing my hair in the heat, to applying eyelashes, and which parts of the eye shadow palette to use for various looks. Being able to have the video with me while I was getting ready at dawn with every step made everything feel seamless instead of stressful. I've never felt more confident doing my makeup. Waking up at 4:45am and being ready to go at 6am felt crazy, and I was so happy I knew exactly what I was doing and what to pack for touch ups. It was so wonderful knowing I had everything I needed.
