Where to start with Chloe? My fiance initially got me a massage coupon with Chloe because I was so tense and stressed. This is probably the greatest gift he has ever given me. With just one session, my upper back and neck tension dissipated and stayed that way for weeks. This was the first massage where I actually left feeling better for an extended amount of time. I have continued to go to her every two weeks. Last week, she recommended magnesium supplement pills based on her evaluation of my specific needs to help with muscle healing. I was somewhat skeptical as I have ordered a number of "gold standard" vitamins and never notice a difference and just stop. But I tried them and I kid you not, I experienced overnight improvement. For the past 4 years, I have had constant tight muscles in my calves and they always hurt no matter how much I stretched. I had resigned myself to having to live like this. Well I took the pills and woke up for the first time in 4 yeras without calf pain. I can't tell you what a relief this was. No other doctor had been able to figure this out. I am eternally grateful. I was disappointed with my two recent experiences with Chloe. I'll start by saying that her technique, touch, and pressure are superb. She checks in with you regularly and encourages you to incorporate deep breathing during the session. If that is all you are looking for, then this is a good massage. For me, an amazing, 5 (even 4) star massage is much more than that. There are certain professional behaviors that I expect for the price I'm paying (esp. in SF) for 60 min of pure relaxation. Both of my massages did not start on time (10 min +/-, and time was not made up at the end). At the start of both, I expressed that I had TMJ/jaw pain and did not want to be face down for the entire session, yet I ended up face down until the final few minutes. This one is the deal breaker: during both of my massages, there were blatant cell phone distractions (plural, with an "s")(NOT from my phone). These factors made my body tense up rather than get relaxed. I have chronic pain in my neck and shoulders, and have been getting regular massages (monthly to quarterly) for over a decade. In all of the massages I've ever received, being aware of the massage therapist's cell phone has never been (and should never be) an issue. Yet, in the past two months, this was an issue in both massages with Chloe. I expressed my disappointment after the first massage. Chloe was apologetic and appropriately offered to make it up to me in a second session. Unfortunately, the pattern repeated itself in our make up session just a few weeks after the first. As she put it, perhaps we are "not a good match". Chloe has lots of really excellent reviews. However, in my two massages, the experience did not meet my expectations. I had a great massage. Chloe La Bare is a very skilled Massage Therapist and knows a lot about different massage techniques. Her specialty seems to be using different techniques to compliment each other, she tells you about what she's doing and is open to your input but since I don't know very much about massage I just let her do what she wanted. She uses aroma therapy and soothing music as well as a soothing tone when she reminds you to breathe, it was very relaxing. I don't have a ton of time or disposable income to get massages regularly, but when a recent flare-up in personal drama was causing tension-related back spasms, I had to get some help. I was impressed by Chloe's Yelp reviews, so I shot her an email. Even though she was in a training course the entire next day, she came to give me a massage at 7pm on a Saturday evening, which I thought was really generous of her. What I really liked about Chloe is this wasn't a generic, spa, all-over the body massage. I mean, everyone likes a good rub, but I don't need someone spending 15 minutes massaging my calf if it's my back that's causing the problem. Chloe really targeted the areas where I was having pain, showed me some stretches that would help relieve the pain moving forward, and recommended I supplement my multivitamin to help prevent such painful episodes moving forward. When I first saw Chloe for the nutritional response testing I was unsure if this approach (she) would be able to help me. However, (I didn't have anything to lose so) I thought it was worth a shot and I'm so glad I was proven wrong! I was initially experiencing pain in my colon, sleep and digestive issues (irregular elimination). My thyroid was also weak when first tested. As it is, I no longer have the pain in my colon and the sleep and digestive issues have improved significantly. My thyroid has also improved a lot. Chloe is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I have been so happy with the results already! This isn't a quick fix since my body needed to absorb the nutrients in order to heal itself. I have been a client of Chloe's for about two years. Chloe La Bare is a kind soul, a healer, good humored, sensitive and professional. She provides a relaxed atmosphere and is always concerned and careful about any problems or injuries (I had a serious back injury a few years ago). She is at once powerful and gentle and a real life saver. She has a high commitment to her craft and has studied in other countries to expand her knowledge (she went to Thailand to study Thai massage and brought back some terrific stretches!) She is also an artist and a teacher and I believe brings those talents into her massage practice. I have been seeing Chloe for a few months now, having both NRT and Reiki sessions, and they've both helped me a ton. The NRT treatments were mainly to build up my adrenals, kidneys and thyroid and have also helped to detox my body from heavy metals and parasites. The supplements are easy to take and depending on the number of supplements you might need (I have 8), really only take a minute out of your day. As for the Reiki sessions, I noticed a great improvement in both my digestion and overall energy level right after the first treatment and have continued to improve in the few sessions I've had with her since. I definitely recommend Chloe for both NRT and Reiki, her treatments have been very helpful in dealing with the handful of chronic health issues that I've had. read more

Before Chloe, I believed that massages were self-indulgent sessions that I would sign up for at a day spa. I was wrong. Chloe has worked wonders with my hip pain that I had during my second pregnancy. Even after giving birth, I continue to see Chloe on a regular basis because her sessions has helped me maintain a painfree lifestyle that once included hip and shoulder pain, as well as tension. I remember a session in which Chloe worked on my right shoulder. I don't know what I did to it, but somehow I I could barely lift my arm high enough (without pain) to adjust the rearview mirror. After that session, I remember getting into my car and I was able to lift my arm to adjust the rearview mirror! NOW THAT, is an example of Chloe session! I have referred Chloe to my family and friends and they have all thanked me for the introduction; some have even become regular clients. I was skeptical about nutritional response testing, but Chloe had already helped me so much through massage, reiki, and breathing and posture exercises, and demonstrated such a sincere and intuitive dedication to optimal wellness, that I was willing to take her advice and give NRT a try. I did initially balk at how many supplements she recommended, but after the first couple of sessions the number of pills dropped to a more reasonable quantity. I felt some moderate improvements early on and we seem to be making steady progress, and I'm looking forward to continued improvement. It's hard to be specific since my symptoms were mostly vague and fuzzy in the first place (achiness, fatigue, etc.) but my sleep quality has definitely gotten better and I have more energy, and my spleen and several other organs that originally tested as weak are now testing at full strength. Chloe is a FANTASTIC massage therapist! I've been seen her for several month now. She can transform knotted tight body into an optimum one ( I really feel the effect the next day) . She is a very slim person but can give a super deep kneading! She has found tight areas in my body I did not know I had. I have been seeing Chloe for close to 2 years. I started seeing her because my back and neck were a mess of tension which, in perspective, really mirrored my emotional life. I was taking antidepressants, and was overly sensitive to everything around me. the progress I've made with Chloe is amazing. I'm very stubborn so it took awhile for me to really listen to what she was telling me at every session: to take care of myself. After Chloe's Reiki sessions proved very beneficial, I agreed to the Nutrition Response Testing. In terms of energy, I thought it made sense. By gently pressing on the area of my body she was testing, organ by organ, and comparing it to the strength I could output in resisting an objecting force (my outstretched arm resisting her trying to press me down) she could measure which of my organs were weak and which were strong. Based on her findings, she then put a small sample of nutrients into my other hand, and repeated the process. Where I once was weak, I was able to resist against the force she was pressing onto my arm. its so cool to think about; my body knows what it needs and is telling me! Chloe is able to read these signals from my body about how I can become healed. I was prescribed five different herbal formulas that made an immediate difference. I felt more comfortable in my own body, lighter, and more relaxed (huge for me! especially since I hold my tension in my back) I was slowly able to let go more and more. A few months ago, I had made a personal decision to wean off my antidepressants, and my plan was to substitute with Kundalini and other types of breath work. I asked Chloe if there was anything she could do to support my decision medicinally. After I was off the pharmaceuticals, she tested me and prescribed a new floral tincture. This made an immediate difference in my motivational actions. I felt so entirely balanced. Something that for me, was very foreign. After discontinuing the pharmaceuticals, Chloe also discontinued one of the nutrients she was giving me. It makes me think that there are more side effects to prescription drugs than we care to realize. I currently take four herbal formulas, and I really take to heart everything she tells me. Prior to NRT, I was familiar with the concept of muscle testing to understand the body's priorities for attention. NRT uses this concept and has a specific whole foods supplement regimen that is customized per person. During my first session, several areas came up as priorities and I was given a supplement schedule. After 2 months, all priorities tested strong and I experienced better sleep, more energy, and calming of chronic digestive issues. In all, I simply felt more like myself. I now no longer have priority areas and have moved on to a cleansing formula to help detoxify (best to first strengthen the body before detoxifying). I have been going to Chloe for massage for several months and have found her to be very helpful. She knows so much about the body and teaches as she massages. She has helped me with some long-term work related issues and helped me understand the causes and the ways I could relieve the stress I put on my body in so many ways. 'Distance Reiki' from Chloe has been astonishing. For five years, her regular Reiki (and massage) had been making my intractable muscular and vascular pain go away. When our schedules changed and I couldn't get over to her office as often, she suggested phone-assisted Reiki. I was convinced it wouldn't work, since it couldn't be hands-on. But I was wrong. I lie down in my own home miles away. By phone, Chloe asks what's going on--body or emotional distress or discomfort. Then we hang up; I set my timer for 40 minutes, close my eyes, and stay in contact with my body and my state of mind. Sometimes I distinctly feel a marvelous shift inside that is distinctly not just the result of sensing within (a regular practice of mine). Sometimes it's only after the session that I realize the pain is gone, or that I now feel more peace, ease, optimism, sweetness--or that I start getting really good ideas for how to resolve a problem that had been weighing me down. Or all of the above. Then I phone Chloe and tell her what happened for me. She tells me what she perceived and experienced during the session, and here's where it gets really remarkable. Sometimes she sensed pain in a part of MY body that I'd forgotten to tell her about, and worked on that. Sometimes she had received an impression of what, specifically, is trying to move into or through my body that I am resisting (such as a stream of warm light pouring through me from back to front at chest level), leading to the particular kind of emotional pain or low self-esteem I've been feeling, and tells me about it. Then, over weeks and months, things change with my issue--even outer conditions, such as the way others treat me--that bear out the truth of the visions of me that she "saw" during the session, and/or the value of the specific ways of moving that she recommended. Her insights also often support the results (that I had not told her) of depth-psychological and spiritual practices I've already trusted for many years. Body-based "intuitive" pronouncements have always seemed to me rather woo-woo. And it does make a difference who one's practitioner is; some are clearly imposing their own fuzzy beliefs on the results of an irrelevant or clumsily-applied physical procedure. But Chloe has that ability--an authentic gift, I'd say--to tune in to universal energies that heal. And as we proceed with these sessions over time, I feel a kind of cumulative effect that is very supportive. It seems to be the Reiki, too; Chloe is an encouraging, positive person, but this is distinctly an added level of healing depth and power. read more

I have been seeing Chloe regularly for almost a year now to help me with chronic back pain and headaches that were the result of several car accidents. After 8 years of having a headache every single day, Chloe has helped me get to the point where I only have one or two a week! I have seen massage therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists, had CAT scans and MRIs, taken drugs etc, and nothing has helped me improve as much as my sessions with Chloe. As others have said, Chloe really targets your problem areas and has a lot of techniques in her arsenal to do this. She does wonders relieving tense, knotted areas through deep tissue work and sometimes stretching. She is also a proponent of Reiki, which I had never experienced before and was a bit skeptical of, but as I said--I was willing to try almost anything. I have no idea how or why Reiki works, but it definitely seems to be working! I always feel much better when I walk out of her room, and often my headache continues to improve over the next few hours after my session. I initially went to Chloe for a chronic pinch nerve in my upper back (all those long days in front of a computer...), after a few sessions with Chloe, the pinch nerve was gone! I've been having regular sessions with Chloe for a few years now and she has done nothing but good for my body. Every time my session is over, I feel lucid, relax, and so much less tense. I highly recommend Chloe whether you're seeking massage therapy for relaxation or a specific injury or due to discomfort. I had a back and neck pain and saw an M.D. who said I had a vertebrae impinging on a nerve in my neck. Physical therapy and a cortisone injection to alleviate the neck pain were prescribed. Unfortunately neither provided much relief. In lieu of a second cortisone injection - and surgery if the injection didn't take - I opted for chiropractic care. The pain persisted throughout the six months of care and I was beginning to lose hope. A coworker gave me a gift certificate for a session with Chloe and I had my first appointment with her in June 2008. We had sessions twice a week for about six weeks and progressively my neck and back pain subsided. At present I rarely have a day with pain. I've continued to see Chloe, though less frequently, and have been relatively pain free for weeks, which has greatly enhanced my quality of life.
