On top, the glaze was the perfect blend of spicy, savory, and sweet. It grows spicier as you eat, so use the ranch dip to cool it down. These were paired with fries, which were also very good. Perfect companion with the wings. Tip: find the fries sitting in the wing glaze, dip in ranch! Enjoy. Being a beach-centric place, they have a ton of healthy eating options and the blackened Mahi Tacos were just that, whether you get a tortilla or get it as a lettuce wrap, it's fresh all the way around! It was a balanced dish you could get without the creama to make it low calorie, diet friendly. We added some avocado for even more creaminess. We came here for an early dinner and it was already pretty full. There was a small line to order, but we did not wait more than 5 minutes. Once we ordered, we got a number and found our table. The drinks were self serve (alcohol is not self-serve) from the containers or the cooler case on the side. It was a nice evening out so we found a nice long table outdoors for our large party. I had the Core 57 bowl, which was healthy and added fish. Little did I know the fish would double the price of the entree. Not a big deal, but I was surprised, that's all. The ingredients in my bowl were fresh and it was an excellent meal! The kids menu is reasonably priced. Environment: Chiringa is located in downtown Alpharetta. There is both street parking and a deck nearby, though the deck is a little farther of a walk away. The entire restaurant has a cute beachy vibe! You order food at a counter inside and take a number before picking a table. Seating is located both inside and outside. However, the interior is pretty small which meant it was easily packed and loud. So, my friends and I decided to sit outside. The restaurant is surrounded by a large grassy lawn so it was nice to relax and eat around families and friends playing games like corn hole outside. In terms of being environmentally friendly, I felt Chiringa let me down. The utensils, bowls, and cups were all disposable, leaving the tray as the only reusable item. I wish they were more conscious about not creating waste! Food: The food came out pretty promptly and hot despite being slightly busy on the night we ate there. I ordered the chicken sandwich and chose Spanish rice as my side. Although I wouldn't say the food was bad, it didn't blow me away. The sandwich felt a little plain and left me disappointed because I had expected more. My friend who got the chop chop bowl said that she liked her bowl, but that it wasn't anything special. Would I come back/ would I recommend to a friend? Unfortunately the food did not "wow" me or my friends and I did not leave wanting to try to food again. We walked in and it was self service we started with guacamole which was very lemony. I have no idea what kinda service my dad was getting as he didn't let us go up there and order with him. I gave the fried red snapper tacos a try & it was LOVE at first bite. It was full of flava & sooo good no sauce was needed. Sooooo... I'd never eaten a lobster roll but always wanted to, generally most restaurants I frequent don't carry them. I was going to be in the Alpharetta area and came upon Chiringa and lo and behold they had the ever evasive lobster roll. So of course I had to try it. Spare no expense, and trust this is the most I have paid for essentially a sandwich, but I was determined to make it happen. And I am so glad I did even though it was smaller than I expected. The bread was slightly and nicely toasted with butter and it was oh so full of lobster. I was worried that it would be too mayonnaisey (yes I made that word up) but it was just right, if anything I could have used a bit more. The flavor was not overpowering and allowed you to taste the lobster. My side was an order of fries and they were shoestring and delicious, very well seasoned. I chose lemonade to drink. Not sure if it was made in house or not but it definitely gives Chick-fil-A legitimate competition. To top it off, the cook spoke with me and my husband before we left. He was a very nice and pleasant young man and seemed to enjoy what he does. I could tell by the food. He recommended that we try the wings next time, which are marinated in their special sauce. I visited this hidden gem in Alpharetta for lunch and oh man is this place AMAZING! It is tucked away in downtown Alpharetta, but as soon as you walk in you get beach vibes and ambiance. I visited here for a group lunch and it is a perfect setting for that as you order and pay as you come in and the food comes out in about 5-10 minutes. I had the bowl here that comes with grilled chicken, rice and lettuce topped with tomatoes and other salad toppings. The sauces here are amazing as well! They have a nice variety of items to choose from and the price is not bad at all. They also have a nice bar selection. There is outdoor seating and a nice terrace/greenway next to the restaurant so I can imagine this would be a pet friendly place to bring your dogs! This place reminded me of everything I could get at a beachside restaurant minus the sand and the water. Definitely will be returning here. read more

Service was excellent and the quality of the food was (mostly) very good. Seafood tacos and plantains were very tasty. I loved the green salsa that accompanied the tacos. My partner (who can't eat gluten) enjoyed his fried shrimp basket and French fries. The shrimp were a decent size, too. ****Two comments: 1) The French fries were very salty. I suggest the kitchen ease up on the salt shaker a bit. 2) The GF mac 'n cheese is truly TERRIBLE. Tragic, even. It was disappointing to pay for a premium side (it was $5 or $6) that consisted of boiled ziti pasta and almost NO cheese sauce, which was flavorless. (see photo). We tried to zip it up with some hot sauce, but it was a lost cause. $45 for lunch was a bit steep, so not sure we'll return but this is a solid little place. read more

They don't skimp. The rest of the bowl was good, but didn't blow me away. I would have liked more veggies...at first it sort of looked like a small side salad. A bit basic. The sauces are fantastic. Lots of options, house made...maybe (definitely) the best part of the meal. The owner came by and spoke with us, as he did everyone else in the restaurant. He seems to really care about customers and their feedback. He was knowledgeable, genuine and caring. A few minor things...there is beer stacked in the dining area. Like boxes of beer. It felt a tiny bit tacky. I get that space is an issue, but for what you pay I'd have expected to see beers out of boxes and on some shelves at the very least. Food is served in paper bowls on trays. Felt a little cafeteria style. The owner did explain that this is on trend. Good to know. And that is fine. But what I didn't like was when the bus bin came out, looking like it needed a run through the dishwasher, and was plopped down on our table as trays were collected. At least collect the trays and take them somewhere vs. bringing out the dirty bus tub and putting it on the table that other people are going to eat on. I didn't love that. I bumped them up to 4 stars instead of 3 even though I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit, because of the owner as mentioned above. The food is delicious, the people are friendly and the margaritas are impressively strong and tasty. They even have a walk up order window so you can grab your drinks and walk around! We placed our order - and up pops the iPad asking for a tip. You know this is not my favorite way to pay a tip - asking before I even try the food or experience any of the service. I paid a tip, I guess this type of payment option is happening more and more at restaurants (requesting tips before you know anything about the place). We were greeted very warmly and even offered a sample frozen cocktail - yum!! It was awesome. The hostess was very friendly and spirited. It took me a while to decide what to order. She made some suggestions that were very helpful. Sandwiches, bowls, burgers, salads and tacos. Grouper was the fish today so I had a grouper basket with Fries and plantains. Very good! Grouper was lightly battered and tasted great. The plantains were awesome - so sweet and soft!! They were like a dessert! Fries were just fries - nothing special there. Suggestion: get some beach boardwalk fries!! :) My friends had the guacamole and it was extremely fresh!! It's chunky, so just a warning if that's an issue for you. It is served with fried plantains (which we really liked!!) and some Fried tortilla chips?...which we didn't like at all! Way over cooked! My friend commented that the hamburger was very good. Again he said fries were just ok. An employee came to check on us during our visit and they did clear our plates. We like the vibe here and will be back! Parking is difficult - we parked in a nearby deck but arrived at an off time - I bet it's much harder to find parking during peak times. What frustrates me about this location is the ordering process and dining experience. You order at the bar and seating is first come first served. After you order, it's puzzling. They pack your food "to go", even if you are dining in. When my order was ready it was placed in a takeout location. It took me several extra minutes searching for my food after I received a text that it was ready. Additionally, the restaurant doesn't provide plates at all so if you order the guac or hummus (both were good by the way) you have to figure out the best way to eat it out of small plastic to go containers. I give four stars just because I had a really bad experience with the shrimp tacos. I was so excited to try them based off previous reviews and photos but think I got a fluke batch because they were really gross - I wish I had taken a picture because they looked totally different then previous reviews. However, the chips are some of the best I've ever had, guac is amazing and the chicken sandwich is my boyfriends absolute favorite. The Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken was good, although I would've preferred not to have 1/4 cup of olives and then be charged $.49 for feta. Kind of pricey-$40+ for the above and two iced teas before any tip. One issue was the fact that we had to clean our table ourselves (!) with the wet rag supplied at the front counter.
