This place is great for frozen drinks or a beer. Better options available downtown for food. We ordered two cheese burgers on Saturday night and brought them back home to eat on the balcony. The burgers were charred very badly. They must cook on an open flame, which in itself isn't a problem, but these were charred really badly. If I had been at the restaurant they would have been returned. I've had good luck in the past with the hot dogs and protein bowls, but will not order the burger again. Beware. UPDATE: We were contacted by the Owner and invited back to try another dinner on him. The restaurant's GM, Lauren, explained you us that they had two new employees working the night of our previous visit and assured us that they had implemented additional training. We returned and had two of the Core 57 protein bowls, one with shrimp and one with chicken. Both were very good. Both Andrew (owner) and Lauren (GM) were very nice. Finally had a chance to try this place out. Like others have mentioned, this place has a good vibe. I love the beachy feel. While I was dining at one of their outdoors tables, I really felt like I was on a beach vacation. The interior is kind of small and loud in my opinion, so I prefer their outdoor seating. Their menu is small, offering dips, tacos, sandwiches, & bowls. They also have a handful of sauces that you can choose from. I tried the Awesome sauce with my meal, and you guessed it, it tasted awesome! First, I ordered a Frose' because frozen alcoholic drinks are the best. This one did not disappoint. It's a great drink option, especially during this summertime heat! I also ordered their guacamole. To my surprise, it was served with tortilla chips AND fried plantains. I loved how they provided both. I enjoyed the fried plantains much more than I thought I would. The guacamole was a little more chunkier than I like, but it tasted so fresh. I ordered the Chop Chop Bowl with Chicken. You also have the option to add fish or shrimp for your protein. The grilled chicken was flavorful and you get a good portion size of it, so I recommend that one. The bowl tasted great. It was layered with rice, greens, tomatoes, and purple onions. I also ordered a side of fries because I am a sucker for hand cut fries and dipping sauces. I was not impressed with the fries AT ALL. The first fries that I ordered were drenched in grease and super soggy. I asked for another, fresh batch and they switched them out. I hate to say it, but they were still pretty soggy, so I would not recommend the fries. I did appreciate the nice customer service I received during my visit here. Even though the fries didn't taste better the second time either, I appreciate them trying to make it right without a fuss. read more

First time in to a new neighborhood spot. Food seemed to take a minute to arrive, but despite the casual environment , it's not fast food. Once our dishes arrived, they were worth the wait, and obviously prepared to order. The guacamole was as good as any we've had, and served with warm plantains. Was excited to finally try this restaurant after having driven by it many times. What a complete disappointment. Very overpriced "beach" food. I decided to order a glass of wine. Was given a small plastic cup filled about 1/3 of the way with wine. I made a comment about the "weak" pour and for $8.00 a glass I could go buy a big bottle down the street. The guy that served me just looked at me like I was nuts. Did not order any food due to menu prices and from what I could see from other diners orders, portions are small and I could not justify the prices for the food that I saw. As other reviews have stated, I guess they feel that if you can afford to buy a $750,000 condo in the area you have disposable income to spend at this restaurant. I have not really eaten here but the RINGA RITAS are my liquid dinner! Ryan makes an excellent Spicy version, and if you prefer it with vodka (As I often do) this place can do it better than others! The outdoor Adirondack chairs and loungers are ideal for sippin' on your drink dreaming of being in a beach. There is a splash fountain a few yards away, and mostly kids play in it while the parents watch and sip/eat outside. This beach themed fast casual place serves salads burgers and tacos. Food is decent. Fries and burgers are good and prices in comparison to the neighboring restaurants are affordable. Best part about this place is outdoor seating. The reasons I can't give this place a higher rating: for starters, every time you walk by the side entrance there's a kitchen employee smoking. It's like their little hang out spot. It's gross.. So gross that the spot where they sit has a permanent stain on the concrete. And you know they're going back inside to make your food and don't even wash their hands. I've seen this happen often. And the bathrooms are blocked by stacks of boxes and a keg. If you're a customer, there's no way to get to the bathroom unless you push past everyone in line, go around the keg and to the back. Bathrooms are dirty too. Amazing! I am a special education teacher from a local high school and my class came to Chiringa to eat lunch after a trip to the library. We walked in and were immediately welcomed with so much warmth by the staff. They made sure to speak to each one of my students and helped each one decide what to order. They were timely in getting our orders ready and made sure each one of my students had everything they needed! The food was to die for. I don't think a single one of my students had any food left on their plates. I had the Core 57 with blackened snapper and it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. We will definitely be back! TERRIBLE customer service...by the OWNER! Not even going to comment about the mediocre food. My mom left her credit card here and called after leaving. The employee she spoke to confirmed her card was there and put in the safe. When she arrived to pick it up a couple days later no one could seem to find it. The employees confirmed the had "seen it around" but no one found it. She came back the next day at opening when all the staff and owner were present. The owner said it wasn't his problem and that she should know how to order a new card. They also claimed that one employee cut up the card. Chiringa is our favorite! They have a variety of tacos, sandwiches, salads, and bowls to choose from with fresh seafood flown in daily from the Gulf of Mexico. Everything is fresh and the flavors make you feel like you are at the beach. Their fried plantains with cilantro dipping sauce side is remarkable. The guacamole is fresh and served with your choice of fresh made corn chips, warm and crispy plantain chips, or a mix of both. Almost everything is gluten free or can be made GF, including the fried chicken, and shrimp/fish, and it is delicious! The owner is local but also has a second restaurant on 30-A which we visit when in Florida. Try them out! read more
