Chiquita's reminds me of some of my favorite fast food Mexican restaurants, especially Taco Bueno. I don't think they are trying to be authentic to real Mexican cuisine. Rather, they are doing a great job of preparing good quality Quick Service Tex-Mex /Cal-Mex food like T-co B-ell used to serve decades ago, when all the food was prepared from scratch on-site. I grew up in Dallas--Fort Worth and ate food like this by the sackful with friends. I love having Chiquitas in town when I visit my place nearby, and end up making excuses to drive into town so I can pick up more of their great food. read more

Would not recommend the nachos. ordered nachos with meat and upon arriving home opened the box to a disappointing amount of cheese on them and had to add more cheese to even in joy the meal. More cheese or lower the price read more

Not real authentic Mexican Food! Food tasted alright only had ground beef and chicken, no other meats! ONLY SOFT AND CRUNCHY TACOS! No quesadillas, no rice, and barely any options for kids except nachos (ordered with NO JALAPEÑOS and was given them with jalapeños when was told 2-3 times) and fries. "Mom and pop" version of Taco Bell or Taco Bueno. Great food and friendly service. My favorite is the hard-shell tacos. The Chiquita Chilada is also very good. This place has been around since I was a teenager and the quality, taste, service and atmosphere has not changed much at all... and that's a good thing! They're not reinventing the wheel here but what they offer is perfect. The business model is perfect. Simple commercial style Mexican food that tastes great, with a pleasant experience, clean tables and courteous staff. It's consistently the only place I always eat at when I visit town. The owners are extremely nice people and that shows in the staff they choose to hire. A+ read more

This place is incredible! Tucked away in the corner of a large parking lot in a small town in Mena, AK, this place has incredible food at awesome prices. Cleanliness: Restaurant was clean and tidy. Cost: They could easily charge more for this food and still get the business! Their costs are more than appropriate for the amount of and quality of flavor of food. Taste: I don't usually like the retried beans when I go Mexican for dinner because it usually tastes like canned beans. These beans tasted Smokey and flavorful. I ate all my beans. Their tacos tasted awesome, their salsa in a dispenser was very smart so those of us who live to douse our food with good salsa/sauce AND reduce their overall waste of salsa if someone doesn't eat it all or eats just a little. If you are traveling through Mena Arkansas, my advice is to eat your lunch here or dinner and you won't be disappointed!!!! Super excited that I am visiting for a couple days. Manager/owner was rude to a new male employee and called him out for not charging me for a side of chicken and commented that "this wasn't Olive Garden-YOU CHARGE FOR A SIDE OF CHICKEN." He then showed the fellow the obscurely labeled button to push, never looking up to see that I was still standing there. A good manager uses situations such as this to teach an employee how to work the register, not humiliate him, but surely NOT IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMER. If you want fast food mexican; this is the place to visit. Much better then Taco Bell which takes way to long to get your food. Food is pretty fresh. I have always gone to Chiquita's instead of Taco Bell. Made the mistake of going to Taco Bell last night, ask me to pull forward behind the other 2 cars that had pulled a head. Went there at 2PM on a Sunday, did not see any signs about operating hours. Walked in to a dark restaurant with nobody in sight.

Can't really find anything to complain about. They aren't fancy, atmosphere-wise, but the food is just good and tasty, and very CONSISTENT, unlike some others. The staff is nice and friendly. They seem to concentrate on having very tasty and somewhat limited menu. But the stuff I've tried has just been consistently really good. Really low prices, so don't expect huge portions. It's just that kind of a place. Kind of like a fast food type of menu but the food is WAY better than you expect. A five pack of tacos is like 6 bucks. And they are really good too, from the meat to the shell to the cheese. You can tell it's just authentic. Their salsa is fantastic. I recommend tacos, crispy or hard. They are both great. The chili cheese nachos are just really good. REALLY small, but what do you expect for three bucks? Like I said, their formula seems to be simple but authentic and fast. I think it works. Just don't expect that your five dollar plate of food is going to be huge. Order two things and pig out. read more
