Pleasantly surprised to find this local gem in the small town of Cove. We are new to this area and were trying out things/places around here, which does not have a lot to offer Came here on a Saturday evening, it wasn't crazy busy but did have steady traffic, that's always a good sign. Hubby had the enchilada Mexicans because that's what he always orders in Mexican restaurant. I had the lunch street taco which comes in 3, the dinner portion has 5 and that's probably good for 2 meals. The steak (in taco) is well seasoned but a little on the dry side to my taste, I like my meat juicer and tenderer, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The service was cordial and everyone is friendly, definitely will come back during our few months stay here.

I enjoyed the visit. The food was good, and the service was great. I very much liked the vibe of the place. I thought the idea to put the salsa in a vase-like glass was brilliant. It was a very fun and flavorful experience. I want to come back to Cove, Arkansas to try different items on the menu.

Top: Baja Nachos Lower: Jalisco Fajitas Both: Delicious!

This little Mexican place in Cove, AR was well worth the stop! I had the Jalisco Fajita (lunch) plate and not only was it an ample serving, the shrimp were second to none. My wife had the Baja Nachos and she said, "I think those were the best nachos I ever had!" Pricing is very reasonable and the ice tea glasses were large. We didn't even need a refill. Yes, I recommend!

This place had pretty good Mexican food but they also have the BEST onions rings ever. I like the variety of the menu.

This is a very authentic Mexican restaurant. They do not make their own tortilla chips, however, which is just as well because normally I overeat those and have no room for my entree! My husband and I both ordered the beef burrito and I was pleased with the freshness of the burrito ingredients and noted that it was not loaded with a bunch of shredded cheese. We ordered ice tea and it was fresh brewed and refreshing. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. We would definitely return and try some more of their menu offerings. I was pleased to see on their menu too, that they served menudo on Saturdays as well as tamales. I would definitely return for that and give it a try.

Everything is made to order in their tiny kitchen and delivered with a smile. They have canned drinks and some Mexican sodas, but do not serve fountain drinks. Their prices are also very good! There are no chicken tenders at this place, so make sure picky kids are prepared for that!

The food was delicious and served hot and fresh. The prices were amazing for the food. Me and my wife both got the Friday special: 2 enchiladas with rice and beans. We were here on a Friday after a morning of rock-washing at Crater of Diamonds and needed a reprieve from the brutal heat. I had the Ranchero Special with chicken and my dining companion had 3 street tacos - Al Pastor and carne asada. First, the staff were gracious and efficient. Our server was particularly attentive while not being intrusive. The decor might seem gaudy, but I've seen similar at other Mexican restaurants with excellent food. It was a nice change of atmosphere after having spent a couple hours in gray, dust-brown troughs of mud and gravel, shoveling piles of rocks into a bucket to be washed in a vat of murky gritty water. Some reviewers have said the salsa was just plain tomatoey, but I really liked it -- it had some light heat and is similar to what I've had at many Arizona Sonoran-style Mexican restaurants. Maybe those reviewers were expecting jars of Chi Chi's or Pace-not-"made in New York City!?"-Picante. The Ranchero Special was fine. The flavor profile was a little one dimensional, particularly with their white queso on it. The sliced tomatoes added a bit of acidic balance to that. My dining companion said her corn tortilla street tacos were pretty tasty. The pork in the al pastor had a little fat in it, but there were also a few good chunks of sautéed pineapple there. We also had a limonado drink which was very refreshing and delicious. Overall, a good place to have a meal if you're in Murfreesboro, AR and have nowhere else to go.

The salsa was delivered in the tiniest condiments containers- ok, strange but ok. Chips were not stale- so ok. The salsa was red- thats as far as I go with calling this salsa. A can of Rotel would have been way better. Young kids would have liked this, I guess, very insipid. We each ordered Fajita Chicken Chimichangas, rice and beans came on the platter as well. The chicken had zero seasoning- couldn't see or taste any salt, pepper, or any seasoning mix at all, it was just boiled chicken. It even had the just boiled chicken taste- IYKYK. The chimichangas were not fried in the least- they were just rolled up tortillas, boiled chicken with no seasoning mix, no onions, no peppers, no flavor. We ordered queso on too not red sauce- thank goodness- it was the only flavor for the entire meal. The beans could have been great had they been maybe black beans- La Costena brand is a thousand times better than the bland plain canned refried beans we received. The rice was the same. We looked for corn, red seasoning flakes- none! We both said immediately- THERE ARE NO MEXICANS IN THIS KITCHEN! Wow! Can not believe this place is in business. But given the small area, lack of dining- ok. The exterior and interior were nice. The , also insipid, waitresses were sweeping, folding napkins and waitress duties. Our waitress was Virginia, friendliest one we encountered. She brought me 1 drink, wish I had known to conserve it because she never offered us more. The other wait staff looked as we smiled, but non smiled or spoke back to either of us. The young man taking our $25 was very indifferent as well. All in all- we left the restaurant and area very shocked. Most Mexican restaurants in Arkansas being sisters to Texas- are very good. We honestly have never in our lives had such poor Mexican food.

Took nearly 30 minutes for us to…read moreget our drink order. 1/2 of the order was a frozen margarita and it was mostly melted by the time I got it. This was after the fact that the person I was dining with had to walk up to the bar to ask for an update on our drinks and caught the person on their phone and our drinks already made... next came the fact that our food order got messed up. Took over 45 minutes between the time we sat down to receiving the food to get something in front of us. Part of the food was cold and the sour cream with the fajitas tasted like it was spoiled. That was honestly our final straw. I could hardly finish my drink, and with the food being AWFUL, we asked for the check. We walked up to the front trying to speak to the manager, mainly because the price of the food on our ticket was $5 more than what their menu showed. The manager aka the person who made our drinks in such a timely manner... said she would give us a discount. Due to the food quality. Which was a nice gesture. EXECPT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE DISCOUNTED THE UP CHARGED FOOD AND NOT THE PRICE THE MENU SHOWED. So either way we still over paid for an absolutely terrible experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE!!! Side note: white queso = hot milk. Had hardly and flavor and probably hardly any cheese. The salsa also tasted like store bought picante sauce.
