I'm going to go 5 stars on chips, which is unexpected for a diner like restaurant probably to many. We were promptly greeted and sat, the restaurant was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our hostess took our drink order and then the waitress came by shortly after, I had a mimosa which was superior! I had a cinnamon batter chip pancake which was a seasonal special and was absolutely bangin! My husband had a veggie omelet with home fries and toast and we took home to go another seasonal special of Nutella empanadas which were fanfreakingtastic. I would return in a heartbeat. Chips is an establishment that is an easy go to for breakfast. Some franchises are blah for breakfast and is a waste of money; but chips is the gold standard. Any other is a waste of money. Service is quick, albeit a line on weekends and ambiance is spacious. If your lazy to make breakfast or your just needing of a quick in and out this is your spot. read more

I've lived in Orange for most of my life, and Chip's has been one of my go‑to spots for years. The pancakes never disappoint! Not summer bod friendly though...They're always fluffy, and the service is super friendly. It's one of those places that just feels like home. Definitely worth a stop if you're back in town! read more

They don't take names, you stand in line and the hostess shuffles you around like you're cattle. We were a party of 5 and were told it was a 15-20 minute wait. Not bad, it was a Sunday morning. After 25 minutes, we said to the hostess we were open to a chair at the end of a booth. Her response was it would cause an issue with room for the servers. After 40 minutes we were allowed to stand inside the restaurant next to the "black wall", we were next to be seated. A woman who I can assume was the manager asks us if we would mind using a chair at a booth...are you kidding me!!!! The hostess sat at least 4 or 5 parties of four who arrived after us. One of those tables should have been ours. The food was good, the wait staff was excellent. WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

This Chips has consistently provided pleasant, competently executed food. Breakfast foods seem to be their specialty, but I've enjoyed their dinner foods as well, especially the Salmon Florentine. Servers are friendly, and accommodating to special requests within reason. I have two young children and have always felt comfortable and welcomed here with them. My kids love coming to this place when I'm in the area. They always have amazing pancake options and flavors. I tried their new lemon raspberry pancake which was epic. Perfect fluffy pancakes with Lemon poppy buttermilk batter with white chocolate chips & a raspberry icing glaze. The service is great, you get the family business vibes from all the workers. This place does get super busy in the mornings especially during the weekend. If you're a pancake lover I'm sure there is a couple options that will make you happy. read more

By far the best Chips location! The staff is always super attentive and friendly. The food is consistently delicious. The pancakes are fluffy, omelets can be made fluffy or diner style, and meat is cooked well. The menu is huge so come with an empty stomach. There is tons of seating, including an outdoor patio, which is comfortable. read more

For years my wife and I have passed this place, always appeared to be packed and we finally tried. Safe to say we are now obsessed. We've since been here twice in the past week and it has been just as good both times. It has the mom and pop feel to it, great service and even better food. We have not tried any lunch yet, stayed true to breakfast. I prefer the 2x2x2x2 meal. That's two pancakes, eggs, toast, sausage, bacon served with a side of home fries. It's the best value in my opinion, I've left absolutely stuffed both times. I love it all, pancakes are fresh, eggs are tasty and the home fries are incredible. I'm a regular at the Fairfield location, and was pleased to say that the Orange location is just as good! It's a little bit larger, but the food is just as tasty. Chip's Restaurant has been a landmark in Orange Connecticut for many years and has recently expanded to Fairfield, Trumbull, Wethersfield, Southbury, and Southington CT. Famous for its perfect pancakes, it also has a creative lunch and dinner menu and guests are welcome to BYOB. George Chatzopoulos immigrated to the United States from Greece in 1987 and worked in the restaurant business for many years. Since George took over Chip's in 2003, he has extended the Chip's Family Restaurant Menu to give customers healthier choices by adding fresh local produce and whole grain items. Being proud of his Greek heritage, he has also blended Greek and Mediterranean favorites in with traditional American family style. A big feature of the menu is that breakfast is served all day with all your favorite pancakes like cinnamon raisin, peanut butter and banana, black forest, Hawaiian, sweet potato, whole wheat. We were in no rush, and I think they saw that so they prioritized their orders. They have milk (whole, oat, and half and half) and sugar for the coffee on a table to the right of the counter. After about 15 minutes, our food was ready. Each half of my sandwich was big. I could see all the crispy bacon, the gooey cheese, the fresh avocado and tomato, and the perfectly crispy bread.
