We first visited Chips and Cheese when we moved here to the area. It had been recommended by several friends. It is a clean, bright and fun place to visit. Don't be dismayed because it shares a building with a gas station. They are two completely separate businesses with separate entrances, no shared space. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. The staff is awesome and very friendly. We like it enough that we have become regulars. It's a small dining room with a bar. They make a good margarita, too! Try it out! read more

What a great little Mexican Restaurant in Wellford. The service was fast and efficient. We had a table quickly and our drinks were ready just as fast as we ordered them. We really enjoyed the food and the shrimp in the fajitas were delicious!!! Here's a Tip - make sure to check in. There is a 10% off coupon from Yelp read more

This place was terrific. The service from this laddie that worked there was incredible. The food is very good.

We love this little gem! The food is delicious, the service friendly and prompt. We love the salsa bar. My favorite menu item is the enchiladas, but my family loves it all!! read more

I've driven by numerous times, and finally decided to stop in for lunch. I'm glad I did, as the food and service were absolutely amazing. It's hard to find really good Mexican food, and this place hit all the marks. Would highly recommend! read more

Always fresh hot food and a salsa bar with corn cheese salsa! Love the Texas Fajitas ! Quick service and nice employees read more

Ordered from here a few times since we moved to the area. Salsas and cheese sauce are very watered down. Nacho cheese fries with shredded chicken was sitting in, what I assume, watery cheese sauce, and resembled soup. Was hoping it would be our go to place but we will keep trying other Mexican restaurants. read more

Nice and small just the way I like it. I ordered my food to-go but the service was still welcoming. My food was good. I will be returning

So good. Hate they close at 8. I love Mexican food and it's near me it's quick and yummy.

Best ACP and salsa I have ever had. I liked the shrimp tacos as well. Their name is chips and cheese for a reason..

Service with a smile... love this place. Portions are larger enough to share so take a friend.

Great place for lunch. Beats any fast food place. Service is fast. Employees are always kind. It's become my most visited restaurant. Catch me during lunch 3-4 times a week. read more

Chips and cheese is a great, clean restaurant. Don't let the attached gas station fool you! Every dish I have had here was served fresh and quickly! Good service, good food. read more

We are new to the area and have been relying on Yelp and Google reviews for restaurant suggestions. I am so glad that I gave this Mexican restaurant a try. The fact that it's beside a gas station doesn't bother me. Some of the best food experiences are in unassuming places like this. I ordered online. When I entered, the restaurant was very clean, tables spaced according to Covid regulations, and was greeted with a smile. It took less than ten minutes to get to the restaurant, but my food was being bagged when I arrived. You can't beat that. We had the Chicken Chimichanga, the Chicken Fajita Quesadilla, and Cheese Quesadilla. All three were fresh, prepared very quickly, and delicious. Actually, this is some of the best we've had. Definitely adding to our list of take out. read more

This a cool little place beside a gas station. Don't let that fool you. They have some really great food. If you have a chance check it out.

This place, is yuuummmmyyyy! Went a few times during Covid-19 and still dream about it! My fav are the nachos.! Also the employees are nice! Great job Chips and Cheese! read more

Nearly 4 star but I cant get 3.95 etc.. People were super friendly. Food was great! Priced just right too. Kinda different location wise, I almost drove by the gas station. Tip jar was different rather than leaving it on the table . It's a little bit of a drive for us but Ithe teen and I'd do it again Note: I don't even consider 5 stars when I/we don't use the restrooms read more

Cozy little restaurant. Good Mexican food clearly homemade. Not overloaded with cilantro Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Always good food and nice people. Don't let the fact it's next to a gas station fool you.

I have been coming to chips and cheese for a few years now, the food is hit or miss, sometimes decent sometimes terrible, bad enough that I haven't been back for months until today. The cashier today was dismissive and rude, then when I tried to buy a drink they refused to sell me one unless I paid in cash, I will not go back and will tell anyone to not waste your time or money here, there are better options minutes away that will let you get a drink with your food read more

Nice atmosphere and great food. Offers a little salsa bar and unique Mexican drinks. Fast and very polite.

Remember that scene in National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 where he walks into his trailer and everything looks amazing? No? Never seen that movie? You should, it's hilarious. But it expressed my reaction perfectly. A Mexican restaurant next to a gas station. This is gonna be a hole in the wall with dirty and walls and.....HUH? Yeah. Not what you'd expect. I couldn't believe how bright and color and CLEAN and amazing everything looked. I mean omg it's just not what you'd expect for being next door to a gas station. Like walking into their own little world. I could try and pick around and nitpick as much as possible to the point of being so impressed that I tried to look for SOMETHING I could say I didn't like - but alas, it doesn't exist here. It's crazy. They employees are just absolutely epic. The service is faster than a frickin' NASCAR pit stop and the food is amazing. My god, what more could you possibly want? I'm a very blunt reviewer and I've got to say...not many get this from me but this is absolutely a five star restaurant. I see no need to even review anything individually as I usually do because everything so far has in fact actually been five stars. Would you believe that they actually know how to season the food properly too? Talk about a diamond in the rough, this place is incredible and a must if you're in the area. If you aren't it's still worth a good drive to. Hats off to everyone working here. Team work truly makes the dream work. I'll be back for more and keep singing their praises in the meantime. read more

Food is pretty good but portions of "chips & cheese" are small. Especially when that's your whole name.

Probably the best Mexican in Spartanburg County\Greenville County came from Texas and it blows there Mexican away I love it

Food is delicious, service is good and staff is always pleasant. Not expensive...just a bit pricey.

What a gem for a "hole in the wall." I think because the restaurant shares a building with a gas station, I just assumed it was a dump! Then my sister who lives in Greenville tells me it is her favorite Mexicans restaurant & she drives to this area just to eat there. The restaurant is only a few miles from my home now & we love it! Beef nachos is our favorite! read more

Great Mexican great price! Will be coming back here every time we visit. Really enjoyed it.

We are new to the area and I was skeptical of a restaurant attached to a gas station. However I'm glad I ventured in here. Seeing firemen , policemen and especially a large crowd of Hispanic clientele, I new the food must be good... and it is! read more

I had a meal from here on April 18th & the sauce they put on my eggs was so hot I couldn't eat it !!! They claim to be a family restaurant , what if a child ordered that .I will never eat anything from there again. It ruined my meal !!! read more

Excellent food in an unsuspecting location. Definitely recommend trying it! Wait staff are attentive.

Super courteous staff. From the jump was not impressed because chips were pretty stale. That is a first chance to make a good impression food wise and it did not. I ordered 3 street tacos (soft corn tortillas) with different meats. All 3 had great flavor but the amount of meat in each was a bit chincy. So not sure going back unless I get hungry going to or coming from landfill read more

A hidden gem locals know. This spot is really cheap and serves extremely fair portions. The steak quality is extremely high and is always cooked. Past 3 visists I've been extremely pleased. read more

We went here for a quick bite to eat for dinner. The place was clean and the service was great. They had a very large menu with a lot of the usual choices. I had the fajita quesadilla and it was really good. Don't worry that it is right next to the gas station they serve some good food. I would recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

We discovered this hidden gem 3 years ago. Best Mexican restaurant in the area. A must try.

Surprised by this small, middle of nowhere Mexican restaurant. The staff was very warm and friendly. Good food and reasonable prices. I've been here twice now and will probably make this a regular stop when I visit the nearby quarry. read more

Don't let the gas station fool you! This place was great. Will definitely be coming back. Great food great service.

We moved to the area this summer and Chips and Cheese has become a family staple. My kids come here at least once a week and the food is very consistent and delicious. It's a fantastic team and a great place for a meal. Everything from the tacos to the quesadillas are always perfect and their chicken soup is amazing. read more

Chips and Cheese is a great place to fill up your tank. Literally and figuratively. They are located next to a gas station. It is the perfect place for really good food. Really good Mexican food! I have been here every week since they opened. I love the variety of selections on their menu. The prices are good. And the quality of the food is the best. Alex and Allie are awesome owners. My family loves them. They make us feel like so much more than just customers. I drive from 15-20 minutes from Taylors because this place is THE PLACE! If you haven't been to Chips and Cheese, you should go. I promise you won't be diasppointed. read more

While we live in the area this is not an area we frequent. We happened to be down there for errands and found this place on Yelp. Glad we did! Fresh and very tasty. Obviously homemade everything. Service was great, folks are friendly and place was very clean. We'll go again! read more

Always great food and smiling employees! Great fresh Mexican! I get the Burrito California and always perfect. Fresh salsa and chips!
