This place never stops hopping, but the employees at this location try their very hardest to keep everything running with a smile. My husband and I came in earlier this evening. He got a burrito bowl and I got two tacos. The employee assisting me greeted me with a smile and a happy hello. He helped me pick the right tacos (I thought I wanted you-pick - I did not - he remained patient and kind throughout). The meat was fresh, warm and tasty. Everything was! They were churning out fresh food a mile a minute. When I say this store NEVER slows down, it NEVER slows down. Yet any time there was even a small break, the employees were out cleaning tables, stocking things, making sure everything and everyone was good. The person up front taking and making orders was so slow it was hard to tell if he was moving or not, which alone does not bother me to much. What did bother me was that the rice looked like left overs from the night before, everyone of the steam table pans was 1/8th to a 1/4 full of dried out meats, beans, Veggies, and sauces. I genuinely don't understand how this Chipotle is still this bad after years. Almost every single time I come here, they're out of fajita veggies -- and this has been an ongoing issue since I moved here 4 years ago. I don't eat meat, so the veggies are a major part of my meal. Today I waited around 10 extra minutes for them to make more, only for them to put the smallest, most embarrassing portion in my bowl like they were rationing it. At some point this stops being a "busy day" issue and becomes a management issue. Consistently running out of one of the main ingredients for years is ridiculous. We arrived at this location at 11:03 am and it was crazy! One person making food and nobody else to be found. A line of people waiting to check out and the person making food constantly yelling in the back for help, to no avail. After about 8 minutes a girl wandered out from the back with a look of wonder as to what people were doing in the lobby. After we eventually made it to the from and we started our purchase that included 2 fountain drinks another customer come up and said the machine was out of co2, she said it would be fixed right away. We sat and started our meal, after 5 minutes we tested the pop to see if it was ready (not). We waited around the machine with all the others. After 5 more mines we tried again.....not yet. I went to see what was going on and the cashier told me the machine broke yesterday! Meanwhile they are STILL selling fountain drinks! And not telling anyone waiting for pop as we all watch our lunch hour go by. I told them I wanted my money for 2 large drinks back and it completely blew her mind. She asked 3 times that I would want my money back and had to get the "manager'' to refund. But as it turns out the 'manager' didn't know how to do that. All while doing this they were STILL selling fountain drinks until I informed the customer it didn't work. Lastly, when I arrived they had large containers of chips all over a long counter I assumed were going to be thrown out, nope. This chipotle is notorious for being very slow. The other locations in Spokane are efficient even during busy rush hours. This location seems to be understaffed or the employees are underprepared and work slowly. Not sure what the root of the issue is. I am discouraged and frustrated that anytime I want to come to this location I can't expect to be out of there in under 20 minutes. Even when ordering ahead, I've had my fair share of issues. I have also never been to a restaurant who is out of something (chicken and rice) more often than this location. Often times, the workers are very short and snippy and lack hospitality and customer service as well. Overall really disappointed and frustrated with the location. Really slow and awful experience. Only 1 person working the line and cash register, 1 prepping food and resupplying the line, 1 doing dishes, and 1 doing phone orders. Everything is dirty, the line to order barely moves, and I actually feel sad for the employees, except the going so slow that a sloth is faster one that is doing take out orders. Went to pick up my delivery order, when I got there said it had been ready 5 mins ago. I go up to the pick up counter and let the employee know, and said it's been ready for 5 mins already. She tells me to wait and that they will bring it out when it ready, but it's already done and ready to go. She wasn't busy or doing anything, line wasn't busy. So you're telling me that you're just too lazy to walk to the back and ask for my order. I didn't get my order after 12 mins. The employees don't seem to care or know what they're doing. They're very very very slow. I think it boils down to a management issue. The worst service I have ever experienced and I've been in the industry for ten years lol. To start my mother and I came in with super polite and relaxed attitudes, and the person making/taking our order could not have given us a colder shoulder, glaring and mashing our food together with not a shred of care. Then we get home to find out you gave my mother steak when she asked for chicken. So we go back and calmly ask for what we ordered with our receipt and our food. The manager then was SO RUDE to us! So started by directly challenging my sweet mother by asking is she was "sure" she ordered chicken. Did not take the time to look at our food or receipt. Did not make us feel heard. Did not offer to make it right. Did not treat us with respect. My poor mother left frustrated and upset it really ruined our whole day. The salad had very little salad and more than a half cup of fluid that spilled out and saturated the bag and had to be strained out of the bowl that was limp it was so saturated.. still draining as I type. The steak is inedible huge gristle in large chunks. Tacos wrapped up together including the crunchy tacos in foil. Super bad experience and I'm a regular Chipotle eater. Everything about this place. The crunchiness, freshness and saltiness of the tortillas, the freshness and flavor of the guac, my double-steak burrito bowl crafted to my liking. The woman there last night, the cute-chunky woman was very sweet and kind. She let me know I may need extra chips because I ordered a side of guac AND queso. She was right. She helped me navigate the app to claim my extra protein and even offered to hold-onto my food while I used to restroom. Super kind. You'd be surprised how rude some of the Chipotle's in Seattle or major cities can be at times. I get it though, they're getting slammed for not much pay. I am sorry to say this store has gotten progressively worse with the passing months. We have ordered online as they request only to find the order is NEVER correct. Such things as the wrong ingredients, ingredients added that weren't ordered, and using the wrong protein. We went inside where they were out of basic ingredients and watching them make your food will make your stomach turn...very sloppy. We've been patient and given the store some slack but to no avail. We have visited Chipotle at various locations throughout the West and NorthWest. Some better than others. But hands down the worst, and I mean the worst is the one in Spokane on Division near Gonzaga University. This place runs on fumes only. Short on competence, down the line from start to finish. Always out of everything. The most common reply from the bewildered server is "out of steak, out of chicken, out of beans, out of rice, out of salsa!" Then its always, "the wait is 20-30 minutes." There is something dramatically wrong with the management at this location. No matter what time of day, shortages are aplenty here. Doesn't seem to be a staffing problem. Several servers on the line and at least a half dozen employees milling around in the back. Must be a poorly managed location. read more
