The carnitas were shredded with a little fat, but not spicy. I liked that the flavors were simple and mild. Compared to the adult portions at Chipotle, the kids meal is much smaller and lighter, which I actually prefer sometimes. The regular bowls or burritos can be quite large, so the kids meal is a good option if you don't want a heavy meal. It's been years since I've had Chipotle, so I was surprised that my burrito bowl with chips cost $16 before tip. The burrito bowl definitely satisfied my craving, but the only funny thing about my order was that I chose the mixed veggies and there was only 3 strings of bell peppers in there. I did an online order and it was ready to be picked up within 10 minutes. There are shelves for mobile order in the dining area, but actually they keep all the mobile orders behind the counter, which is good so no one takes your order. There is tons of indoor seating but very few people eat inside on a weekday at noon. I came in to order my go to i always get- the Kids build your own tacos(that is mainly what i order so i know what comes with it)- and I'm not sure if at first he didn't realize how the order comes with the kids chips n coke etc.. I would inform him and he would say no that doesn't come with it. Im not sure why he would even question me- he should know the menu. I love Chipotle. I've visited this location at least twice a month for over 10 years. But this location, this management group are messing a good thing up. Seriously messing up a good thing. First things first. This is a difficult job, and the employees here work hard and do a great job. I understand that Chipotle needs to be efficiant especially during the lunch rush. But Chipotle, this Chipotle in particular needs to give the autonomy of ordering back to the customer. I know what I want and I'm capable of expressing myself No one likes to be barked at. White or Brown, White or Brown, White or Brown, Pinto or Black, Pinto or Black. Lettuce, cheese, Sour Cream ---bla bla bla. This has become rediculious. I feel like a child sometimes ordering my burritto. Some other suggestions: Don't run out of Proteins, Lettuce or Salad dressing. And at check out---- make all transactions paperless. 99% of the techies ordering don't want a receipt, so please don't print a receipt and ask me if I want it. In SF to drop the kid off at college. After moving crap and shopping for other crap we were all a bit hangry. We had to go to Target to buy some more crap and how ideal, Chipotle is right there. The family unit likes Chipotle, so off we went to grab some good grub. We got in line and something about the place seemed off. Seemed a bit danky for a Chipotle. Usually you can count on Chipotle (is this foreshadowing? I'll have to ask the kid who is in media studies in to confirm.) Anyhoo, the wife went first. She went with the salad, but the first server had no lettuce. He asked a server further down the line to put some lettuce in the bowl and that server threw in 4 (my estimate) pieces of lettuce in the bowl. The first server asked my wife what she wanted on the 4 pieces of lettuce and she asked him to get a couple more pieces of lettuce in the bowl (then it could actually be called a salad). Reluctantly he asked the other server for more and apparently that guy was guarding his lettuce supply like Fort Knox. Perhaps they get a bonus if they have leftover lettuce at the end of their shift. Lettuce-gate came to an end and the wife got the rest of her toppings without incident or embargo. Just kidding, she wanted to top her "salad" with the world famous, only reason we are here, Chipotle Salad Dressing. "We don't have that today." Whoopsy. The kid went next and the first server gave her a nice portion of brown rice and black beans. On to the guy guarding the lettuce. The kid asked for pico de gallo and I would guess that they are not motivated to save the pico de gallo, as he covered the entire bowl with the salsa. The kid then asked for a small portion of guac. As the server dropped a giant scoop of guac on the bowl the kid said "that's good". Ha! I step up for my bowl adventure. Mine was boring, though they were scraping from the bottom of each tray to get me the the things I wanted on my bowl. No stress, my bowl was complete. The wife challenged the cashier asking for a Pellegrino sparkling water, which she saw in the fridge behind the counter. The cashier efficiently pointed to every beverage in the two fridges until the wife said yes. Cool. I ordered a large drink and the kid ordered a small. I checked out and the bargain of the century (sic) was $45 for 2 veggie bowls, 1 chicken bowl and three drinks. After I paid, the kid and I went over to the beverage dispensers. She got some lemonade and when she tasted it, it was water. She dumped it out. She tried the sprite, it was soda water. She clicked on the Coke and it ran clear. In a desperate effort to find some desirable beverage she hesitantly clicked on the root beer. It ran brown and it, wait for it, tasted like root beer. Again, I was boring as my diet coke looked and tasted like diet coke. Damn. I mean great! Resist the urge to get some Chipotle at this location. Go Somewhere Else. Eat Well Somewhere Else. Horrible place, never coming here again. Picked up a steak bowl the guy with glasses serving me was intentionally messing with me when I asked for corn. He literally added 3 kernels. When I asked again he did the same thing again and laughed. I asked again..that's when he finally added a better portion. Asked for lettuce and gave me 8 pieces. Located behind the Joe & the Juice coffee shop on Market St downtown San Francisco, this Chipotle location caters mostly to the financial district workers during peak lunch time rush hour. Lines can get quite long, reaching as far as the entrance door between noon and 1:00pm. If there aren't any seats available, there's outside seating just adjacent to the building which provides plenty of space and shade. Outside that hour there is typically little to no wait time. Prices aren't inflated due to high traffic which is nice. They also do pickup if you order ahead of time and in a rush. Surprisingly this area is relatively clean compared to the other eating establishments along Market St. Tips: 1. Don't go during 12:00pm-1:00pm 2. If you do, order ahead 3. Never was a fan of Chipotle before since first trying it in a suburban Virginian mall - always thought it was sterile Mexican. The fast-casual chain started to grow on me however as a convenient spot for a quick lunch by my old office. Now that we've moved, I really miss it. Nothing wrong with a brown rice bowl, grilled chicken, lettuce, some fresh tomato and corn salsa topped with a little cheese and sour cream. The flavor are bright and it's a satisfying lunch. Even the Sofritas braised tofu is really hearty and tasty for a non meat option. The lines at lunch are misleadingly long because it does move pretty quickly along the assembly line. Fresh and tasty, in and out for under $10 lunch. I have more "authentic" Mexican options by the new office but I do miss my dependable rice bowls here. read more
