Chicken burrito from Chipotle in Paris
    Ramona G.

CHIPOTLE IN PARIS! YES! They have a Chipotle! I remember when this first opened, it was the first location they had in France. I was so excited to get a burrito in Paris because it's pretty much non-existent there! I came here maybe once or twice a week when I lived in France. It's located in Montmartre in the 9th Arrondissement. Take metro stop Richelieu-Drouot. On this street you'll also find the Hard Rock Café Paris a couple of doors down. I heard that they opened this Chipotle because an American businessman kept traveling to Paris and he missed having burritos so he decided to open a franchise there! (not too positive on this story). Whenever I visited there none of the employees spoke English so make sure you know what you're ordering. Just look at the signs. The burritos pretty much taste the same as you would find here in the states but I recall their sour cream to a little bit off. Also their soda is sold by can and not fountain drink. They have an upstairs seating area with a view of the streets below. Pretty much whenever I came here there were only American students or ex-pats who were dining ha ha I'm not too sure local Parisians really visit. Only come here if you're living in Paris for quite some time (either for school or long-term). I wouldn't make this a tourist destination because you can easily try this anywhere else in the U.S. I would suggest trying real Parisian restaurants. So if you're a resident then make sure to come here for your burrito needs in France as it will probably be the only place you'll find it in Paris!

Chipotle, Chipotle, where for art thou, Chipotle? Right here in Paris, baby! Loosen your belts, folks, Chipotle has arrived! Chipotle France is not exactly like Chipotle US, but they've done a pretty good job getting as close as possible to the original. The same look and feel of everything give it a down-home vibe. The menu is almost identical (but in French, of course). Black beans! Sour cream! Fewer salsa options, though. The biggest food-related difference is the portion size. This is France, remember, and they do things a little smaller here than in the US. So, while your meal will be decent sized, you won't be busting at the seams like you are when you go to Chipotle in the States. The staff are super-sweet and doing their best to put on the airs of American customer service. The guy who waited on me said "I'll speak English to you if you want!" with a big smile on his face. I was enamored, and I think I disappointed him when I responded in French. They even have cute little French flags on their aprons. The major downside is that the price tag will set you back a pretty penny (euro). 9€ for anything on the menu. That translates to about $14 - double the price of what the same thing would cost you back home. But when you're jonesing for your burrito fix, it's either this or shell out 1000€ to fly to California. I really hope that Chipotle catches on here so that they open up more of them around the city and I don't have to go to the middle of tourist-ville to eat my burritos. 4.5 stars, using the American version of Chipotle as the basis.

You've got to love it! They pretty much do one thing and one thing only. And they do it good. We had 2 burritos with all toppings and some corn chips with guacamole. The price was ok, the interior nice and bright. The music was loud and we had a good time.

Looks similar! But too much lettuce, no rice, and old guac. Still tasted okay.

As an American who has been abroad for the past eight months, I was very much looking forward to getting a little taste of home at Chipotle. I got a "salade" expecting it to be like a burrito bowl... But it actually ended up being like a salad because they give you big pieces of green stuff instead of rice. The rice was probably what I missed most from the dish. Also, the guac was obviously at least a day old. I can taste that shit. You can't fool me, Chipotle! The portions are French, bien sûr. So I definitely won't be back to spend €11 on a salad and old guac! It didn't taste horrible, but it didn't taste like the normal American goods. Edit: my bad, apparently I just ordered wrong. The salade is a salad and an "assiette" is a burrito bowl. But still- I probably won't be back. I also remember the salsas not being appropriately spiced. It was just a lacking experience overall.

Same great taste. Only truly spicy food I've found in Paris. However, I've noticed the burritos are a bit smaller here.

They did the brand proud and my burger was cooked well, with plenty of the toppings I requested (they use HP sauce instead of A1 sauce, BTW). The fries were seasoned a bit less than the US shops we've been in, but the quantity was about the same. You can order via the machine, so if your French is not awesome (or non-existent like mine), you don't have to worry. They do announce the order numbers in French, but will fall back to English if they get no takers and have confused people grouped around the pick up counter. There was no telling when we'd be able to board our train due to the Customs strike, so we were looking for something that would "stick to the ribs", so to speak. This place fit the bill perfectly. It was located in the train station, not far from our gate. The service was prompt. The food was fast, fresh, and filling. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was just as good as the Five Guys back home in DC. Ditto for the fries. The chocolate banana milkshake I had was excellent! Best of all, that lunch lasted well through the 4+ hour long wait it took for us to finally get the hell out of France. I can only imagine how much worse things would have been if I were hungry.

This was actually two restaurants in one, selling Middle Eastern food, burgers, and chicken (under the name Chicken House). Ordering was done at the counter and the food was delivered to our table. It's a simple setup with basic tables and chairs and not much room to maneuver between them. I chose a grilled lamb kebab and my companion ordered a mixed chicken platter. The lamb was decent, although a little on the dry side. It had good flavour and included rice, fries, and a salad. The chicken platter consisted of a drumstick, thigh, a couple of battered strips, a few wings, and fries. Everything was fried and it all tasted the same. Bland. It definitely lacked some seasoning. I had the beef bourguignon pita, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. The pita is soft and fresh. I topped it all off with all three available sauces (tahini, tomato, and green pepper, I think), and they all worked well together with the tender beef and soft pita. Take some time to prepare your last bite -- my pita had a good concentration of sauces soaked into it, and a bit of beef left, so my last bite was the perfect ratio of beef, soft pita, and sauce. Yum. The cauliflower here was a bit softer than the one we received at the other branch, and while I preferred it a little less cooked, it was still delicious, and we demolished it. We also got an order of falafel which came with four pieces, and various pickles and onions to eat it with. This is an excellent place to stop in for lunch if you're in the neighborhood. Even if you aren't, this is a short walk from République. I'd happily come back.

It's a small place, although with enough seats next door to the cashier to sit down and enjoy your meal. I ordered the original ("poutine Montréal") and was told to wait a few minutes for the cheese curds to melt a bit. Although I was starving, I was glad that I waited-- makes the food all the more appetizing! Taste was solid-- super hearty and generous portions of cheese curds. I did find that the gravy wasn't so hot, which unfortunately didn't melt the cheese curds too much. Cheese curds themselves had that right "squeeky" bite, which demonstrates good cheese curds. The fries were a bit unlike what I'd expected from other poutines I've tried (i.e. darker, not as crispy as others), but altogether a decent poutine in France. Service was efficient and friendly. Portions were well-enough for one person, so it's especially good if you come hungry! Worth checking out while in Paris. :)

We walked in with a bottle of red wine, ordered a small feast on the little touch screen, and walked upstairs to take a seat. We got a 20 piece nuggets (obviously), a couple hamburgers, large fries, a McCrispy for the plot, and 2 Mcflurrys. I ask one question to you, my dear reader, is anything in life as consistent as a McDonalds 20 piece nuggets? They just don't miss. Between crisp bites of these golden nuggets dunked in a black pepper sauce that we don't have in the states, I got a little sentimental. Nothing has seen me in every stage of my life like a 20 piece nug has.
