After being abroad for almost two months, I needed my Chipotle fix. I was so happy to find not one, but two in Paris! However, if you are a desperate American feinding for Chipotle like I was, I would recommend checking out the other location instead of this one. First off, the portions are super small. I was sad to find my bowl at about 3/5 the size of what I would normally get- for almost 12 euro. The bowl itself was ok, not as fresh as I am used to but still satisfied my craving. Boys had to fix their Chipotle cravings having moved to Asia several months ago and what a surprise to find this typical chain in Paris. No nonsense about it just your typical chipotle just like back home in the states. Price seems to be about 20% more expensive but portions were huge in comparison. I ordered my standard chipotle bowl that I get in the States. Everything tasted the same except for the chicken, its a bit under-seasoned and different than the usual Chipotle recipe. So, expect the food to taste a little less salty/spicy. All in all, the experience was great. They speak English and are very helpful. The server also blessed with me with a lot of chicken, and piled on tons of cheese. I never complain about extra food. Final thoughts: go here if you want a lot of food, but expect it to be a bit blander than US Chipotle. read more

CHIPOTLE IN PARIS! YES! They have a Chipotle! I remember when this first opened, it was the first location they had in France. I was so excited to get a burrito in Paris because it's pretty much non-existent there! I came here maybe once or twice a week when I lived in France. It's located in Montmartre in the 9th Arrondissement. Take metro stop Richelieu-Drouot. On this street you'll also find the Hard Rock Café Paris a couple of doors down. I heard that they opened this Chipotle because an American businessman kept traveling to Paris and he missed having burritos so he decided to open a franchise there! (not too positive on this story). Whenever I visited there none of the employees spoke English so make sure you know what you're ordering. Just look at the signs. The burritos pretty much taste the same as you would find here in the states but I recall their sour cream to a little bit off. Also their soda is sold by can and not fountain drink. They have an upstairs seating area with a view of the streets below. Pretty much whenever I came here there were only American students or ex-pats who were dining ha ha I'm not too sure local Parisians really visit. Only come here if you're living in Paris for quite some time (either for school or long-term). I wouldn't make this a tourist destination because you can easily try this anywhere else in the U.S. I would suggest trying real Parisian restaurants.So if you're a resident then make sure to come here for your burrito needs in France as it will probably be the only place you'll find it in Paris! read more

Chipotle, Chipotle, where for art thou, Chipotle? Right here in Paris, baby! Loosen your belts, folks, Chipotle has arrived! Chipotle France is not exactly like Chipotle US, but they've done a pretty good job getting as close as possible to the original. The same look and feel of everything give it a down-home vibe. The menu is almost identical (but in French, of course). Black beans! Sour cream! Fewer salsa options, though. The biggest food-related difference is the portion size. This is France, remember, and they do things a little smaller here than in the US. So, while your meal will be decent sized, you won't be busting at the seams like you are when you go to Chipotle in the States. The staff are super-sweet and doing their best to put on the airs of American customer service. The guy who waited on me said "I'll speak English to you if you want!" with a big smile on his face. I was enamored, and I think I disappointed him when I responded in French. They even have cute little French flags on their aprons. The major downside is that the price tag will set you back a pretty penny (euro). 9€ for anything on the menu. That translates to about $14 - double the price of what the same thing would cost you back home. But when you're jonesing for your burrito fix, it's either this or shell out 1000€ to fly to California. I really hope that Chipotle catches on here so that they open up more of them around the city and I don't have to go to the middle of tourist-ville to eat my burritos. 4.5 stars, using the American version of Chipotle as the basis. read more

I am not a fan of Chipotle in the US, I am not sure why I tried it in France, besides that I was starving and tired of the crappy service we had been receiving in Europe. I got 3 soft tacos, 2 chicken, one steak. Both were pretty gross. The steak was very fatty and hard to chew. The chicken was very overdone. The medium salsa was HOT! As an American who has been abroad for the past eight months, I was very much looking forward to getting a little taste of home at Chipotle. I got a "salade" expecting it to be like a burrito bowl... But it actually ended up being like a salad because they give you big pieces of green stuff instead of rice. The rice was probably what I missed most from the dish. Also, the guac was obviously at least a day old. I can taste that shit. You can't fool me, Chipotle! The portions are French, bien sûr. So I definitely won't be back to spend €11 on a salad and old guac! It didn't taste horrible, but it didn't taste like the normal American goods. Edit: my bad, apparently I just ordered wrong. Studying abroad in Europe makes you crave adventurous new foods, interesting tastes, and exotic flavors. However, every so often you crave the basics from home. Chipotle for me was one of those basics, and a must visit when I was in Paris. The restaurant has every similarity to the chains in the United States with the exception of having better quality meat, vegetables, and spicier pico! I was more than satisfied with my experience and it was a nice break from the rich and indulgent foods in France! I purchased my usual, chicken burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, sour cream, onion, pico, and cheese. One of the best meals I've had so far! read more

After being in Paris for more than a month, we were REALLY missing some Los Angeles flavor. While Chipotle isn't that great, and this location maybe isn't the best, it was so So SO nice to have a little spice in our mouths. It's certainly different tasting than Chipotle in the US, so go in knowing that it won't be the same. The tortilla tasted different (as does every tortilla I've had here so far) and the meat is a little different, but when you cover it in salsa and cheese who cares. The prices are a bit high, but it makes sense. They're open fairly late and pretty easy to get to since it's right across the street from a subway stop. I'm so happy to have Chipotle here. We will probably go back before we leave since I think about it almost daily. read more

So I was excited because I had never tried Chipotle and my girlfriend always told me about how delicious it was. Chipotle is my girlfriend's favorite fast food restaurant.. I order a burrito and this is what happened: A guy "heated the tortilla" (5 seconds), another one putted the beans on it; then another different guy places the meat or vegetables..blah blah..(sour cream, cheese, guacamole, spicy sauce etc.) after all, the burrito arrives to the cash machine et voilà! COLDEST BURRITO EVER :( I was really disappointed because before going to Chipotle I read all their info in their web site and my girlfriend told me the story of how they began etc... it seems to be a very important fast-food restaurant with a lot of "food integrity". They serve everything with the very best sustainably raised food possible. Their ethics are based in the respect for animals, the environment and farmers. I dreamt about Mexican food a few nights ago. After I had been warned by multiple Americans that there is no good Mexican food in Paris, I humbly accepted the fact that I would have to wait until I returned back to California to get my fix Imagine my sheer and utter delight when my friend emailed me the day after my dream about Chipotle in Paris. I had no idea there was a Chipotle in this great city and apparently, it just opened earlier this year in May. We took a special trip to Paris just for Chipotle. Yes, you are reading that correctly. I took the 1.5 hour commute to Paris to eat Chipotle. I was so happy to see that it was exactly like how it is in the U.S. I was worried they wouldn't have corn (my favorite) or the same salsas. Fear not, the menu and offerings were completely the same (except for apparently they don't have white rice, only the brown rice). They even had Chipotle Tabasco sauce! The best part is that the servers speak English and quite well actually. I ordered three chicken soft tacos and a side of tortilla chips and guacamole and Vinnette ordered a barbacoa burrito bowl. Oh, and we also made sure to order two margaritas. I never realized that Chipotle served margaritas because I always used to go at lunch (and alcohol was never on the mind). Chipotle Paris serves margaritas, beer (I got nostalgic over the Corona beer) and sodas, like Dr. Pepper. I think this may be the only place in the entire city where you can find Dr. Pepper. Everything was delicious and I was so happy that I could have cried. My only complaint was that my tortillas needed to be heated just a little bit longer (the consistency was off; they were slightly too hard). It's definitely more expensive at 9 euro/main course, but I'm willing to pay the premium for Chipotle. The chips and guacamole were 2.5 euro. I didn't think that was so ridiculous because avocados are so expensive here! At the local grocery store, they sell avocados for 2.5 euro each! People, we are not talking special organic avocados from Whole Foods. This is 2.5 euro for an avocado from Peru at a normal, grocery store. Margaritas are 5.5 euro per cup (don't you wish they sold them by the pitchers?), but they're actually good with a decent amount of alcohol and coarse salt on the rim. I will TOTALLY be going back to Chipotle and I'm so happy that I can get my quasi-Mexican fix somewhere in Paris. Very expensive. 9.3 euros for a burrito. Burrito size depends on the person making it. My wife's fillings were generous but mine were very stingy. Barbacoa had good flavor. Rice was very dry and hard. They put all of my salsa in one tiny spot instead of spreading it out. Three floors of dining with the upper floor having a good view. Unlocked and clean restrooms. Vegetarian options available. No MSG tasted. Meets the burrito craving in a late-night pinch, but I would be avoiding this place as much as possible. read more

The closest thing their is to a fast food and that I can decently eat and not feel like I just had fake plastic food. I like the versatility for vegetarian to still be able to feed themselves without guilt. I can't justify more than 3 stars for fast food chains. That being said, America may be a fast food nation but when we want to, we do fast food right and probably are the best in the world at it! Chipotle justifies this assertion. They have bumped up their prices compared to the US (and bumped down the quality of their tequilla) but the quality of the food is really far beyond any of the other fast foody tex-mex competition in the area (or in Paris period for that matter). Their commitment to local and organic products is also a nice touch. I love the burritos and the hard-shell tacos and I think my favorite meat is the pork, with their chicken following closely behind. If you are feeling like a baller, grab some guacamole and chips, add a guacamole supplemental to your meal, and a Bohemia beer too while you are at it. I would recommend the margaritas (which are delicious) but these must be consumed at your own risk (i.e. you must choose to accept the consequences/stomach pains the next day). read more

I would have put a 4 if I didn't know the US Chipotle. Basically, this is exactly the same food and atmosphere, except that... - Prices are so high - 9.30€ the burrito, compared to 7$ in the US - No fountain drink - so you have to pay 2€ for a can of Coke Overall, they still sell the organic, huge burritos that I love, but big down thumbs for the pricing. The place is nice though - light wood, 3 rooms (careful, the AC is a bit too powerful downstairs - plus you'll have a better view upstairs!), quite calm. read more

I came to Chipotle after my trip to the US. I saw the price and the portion I was going to cry: I am back to France. However, i'm not going to deny it, it's super good, the salsas are amazing , order the vegetarian burrito the guacamole will be free. They serve Mexican beverages and Dr Pepper. The main issue for me is that they often have the wheelchair accessible automatic door entry locked. I think it's inappropriate that wheelchair users have to wait outside like a lesser class waiting for a staff member to bother looking and seeing if someone wants to come in. Discrimination comes in many forms and this is one of them. Either keep the door unlocked or have a staff member ready waiting to open it. As for the rest, the food service is good and the food is quite healthy and quick (which is why I sometimes go there). After today though, I will not be returning. I can't continue to promote discrimination by going to this particular Chipolte. read more

Ok, so I came here for two days in a row recently and admittedly things got a lot better here. Although it's only been two weeks apart from my first visit, the entire staff seemed to be different. The quantities are much bigger now and the staff is super friendly and happy. They even have Dr. Pepper here. The staff is friendly and speak English. The ingredients are mostly the same. However the tortillas a little different, but it does not distract. It is basically 98% the same and that is a lot better than McDonalds. read more

Ok the differences: *White rice (no), it's more like rice pilaf; *Meats, tasty but slightly less serving size; *Salsas, pico de gallo is not as chunky and again small serving size; *Drinks, not fountain- can and bottle; *Expensive (Euro). Similarities: *Great service; *Menu is easy to follow in French (Haricot Pinto = Pinto Beans); *Clean (actually this place was more clean than US counterparts); *Good food; *Fun atmosphere. Had to leave at least 1 star because of the way it's setup. But I was disgusted while standing in line here to order my food tonight and a rat ran out of the kitchen area to where we were standing in line to order, I freaked out, the rat got startled and ran back to the kitchen area. I couldn't believe it, I started telling people in line with me, and here it ran out again, but this time it ran up the leg of the prep station where they make your order. I was so freaked out and was expressing it. The employees working there acted as if I was overreacting. Is this a norm for them? Needless to say we walked out. Chipotles in USA are light years ahead of the Chipotles in Europe, in both quality and taste (not to mention refreshments ). This one in particular supported this stance. Instead of grated cheese, I got a large lump of cheese, with some grated cheese drizzled over it ( did not fully grate cheese). The beans and white rice tasted much different than USA and most importantly, the tortilla was not heated correctly. If was lukewarm at best and thus the contents inside gave a strange temperature contrast. Not bad, but not too good either. read more

They nailed it. There's not much to say. It's straight up Chipotle and it's in France. The land of (until quite recently) a Mexican desert. Not like, you know, the Chihuahua (although we did smuggle a chihuahua in with us), but as in a vast and arid lack of proper mexican food. But heads up, do not come here if you're looking for a cheap meal... everything is 9.30 euros... compared to 7$ in the US. Guac is 3$ extra? :( Plus drinks here are crazy expensive too. I am so happy to have a chipotle within reach. It's one of the things I really miss about living in America. Although I did not expect the quality to be the same as it is in the US, I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried it. It was pretty close. They do not use patron for the margarita but it still tasted pretty good. I was quite blown away by the prices though. A salad, burrito and 2 margaritas - 33 euro. I almost choked. Well it's very simple, EAT FAST FOOD. Fortunately what chipotle offers is good. The burrito, like always, is huge and juicy.
