I have to start off by saying it's crazy the amount of recent negative reviews and they still have the same horrible staff. I walked in there this past Saturday at around 12, and while I was waiting online to order, I observed a male and a female in the meat carving station hanging out, leaning all over the counter, laughing. The male who they were calling Chris was on his phone half of his body leaned on the counter where they carve meat rubbing his mouth and nose over and over and over again. He was just rubbing his bare hand all over his face wiping stuff off of his mouth. I mean it was disgusting. So when the female looked over to me because he was so engrossed in his phone, I said that's disgusting. Tell him to stop touching his face and wash his hands that got his attention and then he started arguing with me that he can do whatever he wanted and that he wasn't working. I told him it didn't matter. He was in a food prep area and if he wasn't on the schedule, he shouldn't be back there definitely shouldn't be in the area where food is prepared, touching his mouth. This went on for a while apparently it was very important for him to prove something. The female walked towards the back with him. I heard lots of laughing, muttering and talking, and then another female came out to look in my direction and a male came out from the kitchen, acting tough, waving his hands in a dismissive fashion, and trying to shoot me intimidating looks. The counter where they make the burritos and the cash wrap was absolutely filthy with food bits and smears, and streaks of God only knows what. I will never go to this location again between the intimidation tactics and the filth I'd rather eat just about anywhere else. Absolutely disgusting. No obvious supervision no management no cleanliness no courtesy if I can give it less than one star I would. read more

On 11/19/25 as I approached to order at Chipotle the worker at the start of the line was not ready. As they were washing their hands they blew their nose with a tissue and then used the same tissue to dry their hands after hand washing They likely smeared snot on their hands after hand washing. Chipotle is my go-to spot for a fast food casual experience that brings both quality and quantity to the table. This location met my expectations on that front. I ordered a salad and the lettuce was fresh, not a wilted leaf in sight. The rest of the toppings followed suit. I went during the lunch rush. FWIW, waiting in line beats mobile orders. You will likely wait less time and your order will be accurate. I will say they needed to have more employees working for these peak ours. People were bouncing back and forth between mobile orders and the main line. The worst part was no one acknowledged the customers and at least said, "I'll be right with you," or something to that effect. On the brighter side of things, there is plenty of seating with a downstairs section and a nice loft area with lots of natural sunlight and quiet. If you're eating in, I would make the trip up the stairs. It's worth it. read more

TLDR: found bug in food, offered replacement meal and refund, found a probable bug piece (leg) in replacement meal. Full story: I was super hungry after the gym so I ordered take out on the app. Waited about 5 minutes longer than the estimated time when I got to the restaurant, which wasn't too bad considering they were quite busy. However, when I got home and started eating, about 5 bites into my food I spotted something and took out a living, crawling stink bug from my food. It still had a piece of lettuce stuck to it and was wiggling around my table when I took it out. I called the store and told the guy that picked up what happened and he said he'd connect me to the manager. Got put on hold for 10 minutes, then the manager answered but it seemed like she was talking to someone else for the first 5 minutes. Finally she talked to me about what happened, then she said I could come back for a replacement. I wasn't super excited to drive 30 minutes (15 there, 15 back) through rush hour traffic but I went back anyway because I was so hungry. When I was there, the lady said she could try to give me a refund as well, so I thanked her, took the bowl and went home. Obviously I was pretty wary eating this second bowl and was pretty suspicious. To my disbelief, I found what looked like a leg of the exact bug I had just found. I ordered a veggie burrito and my boyfriend ordered a veggie bowl. Guacamole is included with these items. Unfortunately, when I asked for guacamole, I was told "they don't have any". I was surprised, and politely asked if they were going to make more. The person making my burrito seemed annoyed with this question. After a few minutes, another staff member appeared with the guacamole, stating that "they were saving it for mobile orders". I asked if I could have it, because I had ordered a veggie burrito. They gave me a small scoop and did not offer any to my boyfriend. I understand that food service is difficult, but if the staff had been warm and friendly, I wouldn't have been as upset by this. This is a nice Chipotle and one of the rare ones with enough seating, that is spread across two floors. The food was also good and the whole restaurant was clean. Where did my experience break down? There are staffing issues here even when they were not busy. First, I had a "Dinner for Two" card they had no clue how to process correctly, even the manager. Behind me my friends got delayed as the tortilla machine was not working. When my friend with the Burrito got to the register, they had to charge him full price as the dinner for two card had already been processed for my order. Another friend of mine also had a card, and even with him pointing out drinks and chips are part of the card, they would not honor it. The code for the bathroom on the receipt also did not work. This location has some work to do that's going to have to start at the top with the manager knowing what's going on. read more

Don't place a mobile order. It will not save you time. This Location does not know how to manage them and you will end up canceling your order out of frustration. I placed an order for 4pm. When I got there they were still trying to fulfill orderers placed for 3PM and could not provide an estimated wait time. This is not the first time I have had this problem. When I asked for a cup for water , I was told there was none , and then watched her give a cup to a customer that ordered a soda. I ordered food from here through DoorDash. I'll never use DoorDash again. I placed the order at 12:50 PM and waited over an hour for DoorDash to tell me that there was no delivery drivers available for another half an hour. I had to wait almost 2 hours for my food that probably sat there for God knows how long. After spending 25 minutes on hold with DoorDash the representative did nothing for me as a customer and owned up to none of their mistakes and only kept apologizing. He could not address the fact when I mentioned why would they except a delivery which was going only three blocks if they did not have any delivery drivers in the area. I asked to speak to a manager and never got a callback either, typical. The bowl I got Steak bowl from Chipotle was nothing special either the food was definitely cold and I typically get a tortilla on the side which was cold and was hard as a rock. The rice was moderately warm considering it was at the bottom but since I got salsa in the bowl everything was just a mushy watered down mess since it probably sat around until the driver got there. Have you ever tried to eat cold steak? Well if you haven't try chewing on a ball of rubber bands. You pay $7.50 for a fulfilling meal what more do you want? Honestly though does Chipotle even disappoint? Well, to me it doesn't and neither does this location.The staff is also friendly ( they greet you with a smile and just an overall positive attitude). I work in the downtown New Brunswick area and although there is a lot to eat around here somehow I find myself here more than any other place. It's pretty big as well ( there are two floors) and it's spacious enough where I don't feel like I'm on top of the other person. This location is very clean which adds to a better experience. It does get a bit crowded since for one, it's located in downtown New Brunswick so you have the Rutgers students as well as a ton of people who work nearby coming over and ordering. You can't beat the price and when you're done head to Starbucks( right next door) for a little dessert. read more

Do not order delivery from Chipotle. Ever. They use door dash, a third party delivery service. They have no way to fix an incorrect order that was delivered. My taco order was incorrect. I asked for hard tacos for someone that can not eat wheat. They delivered soft tacos instead. Not shocked at this as I have had two orders previously that were not complete. I spoke to the manager and was given two options. Either drive over to the restaurant and pick up the correct order, or ask for a refund through the Chipotle web site. They are unable to redeliver your food which is nuts. Save yourself the trouble. Either pick it up, or don't order. One thing to add, they kept me on hold on the telephone for 18 minutes and then I was hung up on. If I had exactly $10 left, I would spent it here. Chipotle is like fast food, but it is much healthier and tastes so much better than usual fast food restaurants. There were no Chipotles around my hometown, so when I first came to Rutgers, I literally came here at least once a week! Still, I'm not sick of it and come here occasionally! Sometimes, I even come here alone when none of my friends want to join me! Chipotle is very fun because no matter what you get, whether it's a burrito, taco, salad bowl, or burrito bowl, you can be creative and create your own masterpiece by mixing whatever ingredients you like! My favorite is a chicken burrito bowl with corn, lettuce, tomatos, and grilled peppers and onions. Plus a side of guac! Back then, the bill will always be exact with no change, like $10, but now the law states that students are not taxed on food, which is perfectly fine with me! More money for me! This one is located at the perfect spot between Paterson and George! The workers are very friendly! The place is spacious - a lower and upper level! There's always people here, but there was never a time when I can't find a spot to sit! The only thing is that it can get kind of noisy and hard to chat when you have a big group of friends like 4-5 ppl. Other than that, everything is awesome!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Placed an order for pickup at 8:30pm. Came at 9:40pm and they still hadn't started the order. I asked how long the wait was and the woman just walked away from me 3 times. No response, no expected wait. They ran out of rice before they even started the order, and as I was waiting there, they still prioritized other orders. It's 10:20pm now. I asked to cancel and they said do it on the app, and when I asked for clarification they said I don't know, I don't use the app. Asked the manager and he said contact corporate to get the money back. I asked why is it that an order placed at 8:30 for pickup hasn't even been started by 10:20pm and he said "i don't know what to tell you man" At least tell me if I should just leave instead of ignoring me and walking away. I am beyond pissed. A worker dropped the sour cream spoon in a bowl and accidentally got tomato on the spoon, looked at it and hesitated, and then proceeded to put the spoon, with the tomatoes on it, back in the sour cream. They ran out of rice, scrapped dried rice out of the bottom, mixed some water into it and proceeded to fill their bowls with that. They ran out of cheese and chips and continued to fill out incomplete orders and cared nothing for the DoorDash drivers questioning why the orders were missing. I get they were closing but an order placed for pickup at 8:30 was never even made after I'd been waiting there for 40 minutes being ignored. Find a chain that follows the same company policy across all their chains instead of a chain that picks and chooses to implement which policy they are going to apply that day because a stick is so high up their butt. All I simply wanted to order was a quesadilla which the lady was about to make for me but the older woman refused to let her make it for me because I did not order from the app. She claimed there was a line when I was the only one in line...It doesn't take someone with a half brain to understand when to implement a policy and when to make it when every other Chipotle in Bridgewater, Hillsborough, and Chester NJ all makes them in-store whether you order from the app or not. Terrible customer service and not worth it whatsoever. All portions for all other items were also significantly less than every other Chipotle in the surrounding areas so I would take your business to a Chipotle that actually prides itself on serving the customers instead of adhering to policies that make customers have a significantly harder time. read more

I never have a problem with Chipotle because they have generous portions and fast service, but recently I ordered from this location on DoorDash and I was quite disappointed. First, there was a hole in the bottom of the bag so my food was leaking everywhere. Second, there were no napkins to clean up the mess with and no utensils, which is unacceptable when you're very hangry and need to shovel food into your mouth. Third, I found a hair in my food. Absolutely the worst chipotle branch I have ever been to. I ordered from here once, was charged $4 for delivery plus tax and tip, and an hour and 15 min later received a salad with no dressing. Cmon guys. Because it's the only chipotle in town, I keep going back (I know, I know, why do I bother) and the service is just as crappy inside. The lines are super long, the service is slow and the employees are rude and forgetful. I've paid extra for a side of guacamole only to see that they forgot to put it in the bag.
