Great authentic Mexican food from southern Mexico. If you're looking for real flavor, La Fe is a most try place. The Authentic Mexican drinks such as Horchata, jamaica( Hibiscus)and tropical drinks will go well with any dish you decide to get. Price wise, pretty convenient. As a side note, they do sell cakes, sweet tradition Mexican bread and pastries.

The bartender guided us on the drink options and offered suggestions, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the spicy margarita, which was delicious. We then were seated up stairs (the decor and ambiance of this place is beautiful!). They provide complimentary chips and salsa (my fav). The owner came by to apologize for the wait, which really wasn't terrible, and offered us two free tacos on the house. They were delicious! One chicken and one beef. We ordered the toca vez salad and plantain and coconut shrimp sushi (UNREAL!). Both were delicious but the plantain starter was heavenly. I ordered the scallop risotto. Delicious! My husband ordered the salmon and it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cooked to perfection!! The waitress knew we were celebrating and provided up to complimentary champagnes and ice cream. One of the best dining experiences. Can't wait to come back to try more!

The place is visually very…read moreinteresting - there's really nothing else like it in the Somerset Hills and looks like it came from a much more metropolitan area. The food was a mixed bag. Shrimp tacos - tender seasoned shrimp served on fresh corn tortillas and a spicy sauce on the side were excellent. The steaks - one medium rare ribeye was surprisingly lean, but tender and flavorful and was beautifully cooked. The filet ordered medium came somewhere between rare and medium rare. But it was tender as expected (it is prime filet after all). Asparagus side was phenomenal. Shoestring fries came out crisp but oddly room temp. Sea bass dish was good, but the menu description failed to adequately describe the ingredients. The steaks were typical upscale steakhouse, but I guess I was hoping for a more Mexican-inspired flare when it came to the sauces or sides. Service was well-coordinated and available and friendly and efficient. The area that was lacking was the knowledge of the food. No one knew what was in the sauce that accompanied the shrimp tacos. It's okay not to know perhaps, but say I don't know and go find out. Also requested information about the dishes was lacking, particularly when it came to food allergies which one person in our party had.

The only issue is that I feel like many of the dishes can taste the same since all of them share similar ingredients, so what's best is to find the one method of preparation you prefer the most and stick with it. You can't go wrong with anything. Staff is friendly and they've been kind when I've ordered out or ate in. The beans and salsa you get for eating in is delicious. The restaurant is also decorated nicely. I hope this place stays open for many years to come.

The burritos are always packed, the presentation of the molcajete for two was amazing, and the quality of their chicken, steak and pork is always great. The salsa verde is 100/10 - I could drink it! You absolutely cannot go wrong with the staples - tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tostadas, fajitas, tamales... they do it all, and they do it WELL. The service is also great when dining in. The decor of the place feels like you're somewhere in the southwest - beautiful colors and imagery on every table, chair, and wall.

When my lunch plans fell through it was a perfect opportunity to check this place out. Parking is New Brunswick parking, if you've parked in New Brunswick you know it to expect. If you've never parked in New Brunswick try circling around a few times and if you don't have any luck with the meters you might have to pay for one of the decks, fortunately there was one right around the corner from this place. When I came in I already knew what I wanted to try, The namesake menu item that has been pretty popular lately. There were a few tables downstairs, and there was a stairwell upstairs that I never ventured up. The few times I visited here I've always found first four seating and never felt the need to see what was up the stairs. The tacos came out a little while after ordering and they looked really good. I think this was my first time consciously trying Iberia tacos and they were very good. I might not be the best person to judge this is I've never had other ones. But I was satisfied with what I had and the broth that it was served with was delicious. I have been back since, and will likely be back again. If you're in the mood for some good tacos you should check this place out.

The restaurant serves delicious, fresh food in a very homey atmosphere. The servers are kind, attentive, and so helpful; from time to time, you might even be served by Pancho himself, who is an absolute gem! We started with the guacamole and chips, followed by the nachos, where you can customize them with your choice of meat. For our entrees, we ordered the Huaraches with steak, which is a large, handmade, slightly fried tortilla topped with beans, onions, lettuce, crema, and cheese. We also got the Tacos, which come five to an order. You can choose up to two meats, but we stuck with the classic Al Pastor. The meat was so tender and flavorful, served with the traditional onion, cilantro, and lime on the side. Finally, and my personal favorite, we had the Picaditas. Like the tacos, you can choose two meats, so we went with Al Pastor and steak. Similar to the Huaraches, these are four smaller, slightly fried homemade tortillas with green and red sauce on the bottom, topped with lettuce, onion, and cheese! To wash everything down, we had the homemade Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea), though their Horchata is also delicious. Overall, this is one of my favorite spots; it reminds me of my childhood, and the food is just as good as what you'd find in Mexico. If you're looking for an authentic experience, this is it!

This unassuming gem is so great, and seems to thrive on takeout orders, leaving the dining room virtually empty (yay us!) We had an assortment of dishes to get a feel of what this place was good at and to no surprise: they aced every single one. The fish tacos, though they looked plain, were so flavorful and crispy and we couldn't get enough. The other types of tacos were also packed with flavor and so incredibly addicting. We also shared nachos as an appetizer and to our surprise, the chips were fresh and the nachos were topped with tender pieces of steak. It's hard to find a good pozole, and this one was filled with meat and honestly could have served as two meals with how much was given to us. This just might have to be our new go-to Mexican spot - it seems like my days of taco trucks are over since I can get some amazing tacos here!
