This has to be the most poorly managed chipotle in existence. I come here all the time the staff is always either, rude, not paying attention, or stoned in the back. Nobody does anything and you can tell because whenever a customer comes up the counter they have to pull straws in order to see who's gonna serve them. Nobody smiles or looks happy. I come here all time proably 10x a month because it's the only "healthy" option near my work. They never give you a big serving even if you ask for double meat but they sure will remember to charge you for it regardless. It's a joke the rice is often hard as a rock and the meat is served cold. If you order ahead the bowl is served almost empty and very often do they put things into the order that I never ordered recently they even added something I'm allergic too and if I didn't notice I wouldn't been greatly harmed. I'm not normally a Chipotle fan. I think their portions are normally small and they don't have a ton of options. But, this location is close by and I wanted to get it a try. The atmosphere itself is fine- a little dirty. The workers are all pleasant as well, if not pretty slow. There were about 3 people in front of us and it took a very long time for them to be served and wrung out. My biggest gripes are with the food though. I had a bowl with white rice, pinto beans, barbacoa, salsa, sour cream, and cheese. Everything was just so... wet. It was so wet that it started to flake the side of the cardboard bowl as I was using the fork. Not very appetizing to have paper in my food. The food itself tasted okay but definitely wasn't bursting with flavor. The salsa had a few hard pieces in it that I found bizarre. I also found the portions to be decent but definitely not generous. Maybe I just find Chipotle to be overhyped in general. You can find much better food at Moes and Bajas with better flavor, fresher, and more choice. I was a little bit wary when I saw that this Chipotle location had such dismal ratings. But I was already in the parking lot when I saw their Yelp page & a guy has gotta eat, so I just went for it. It was a pretty standard Chipotle operation with a young team working very hard behind the counter. They were stocked up all of the ingredients that I wanted, they humored me on my "extra, extra vegetables" request, & they were polite throughout the whole interaction. There was a bit of a snafu at the register which took a few minutes to sort out, but it ended up being no problem. I do think one of the team members was trying to kill me though, because when I asked for the hot salsa, she lathered my whole bowl up with it. Doused it. Decorated it. Absolutely demolished it with hot sauce galore. Was she praying for my downfall? Quite possibly. Jokes, jokes, jokes. But seriously my sinuses have NEVER been clearer. This is the worst chipotle I have ever been to. I am quite a fan of the franchise and grab it on the go often. My friend and I were in the Cumberland area and decided to go grab something quick at this chipotle location. First off, I walked in, with a big line following behind me and I was ignored for a good 5 minutes whilst the workers chatted among themselves. My second problem with this location is that it's the first location EVER to tell me they can't give me any side besides white rice. Not even any sour cream. Am I supposed to have three sides of white rice? Like come on. The employees were rude and unhelpful. Like I said, as a fan of the franchise I was highly disappointed with the service and especially the fact that they weren't able to give me a meal I get at every other location. It's close to where I work so that's a plus, however their wrapping skills are very inconsistent. Idk if it's just this one but I've gone to other locations around RI and haven't had this issue. I don't get a lot of stuff in my burrito, just the basics like white rice, chicken, queso, pico, cheese and lettuce. I do add the fajita veggies too. But it's not like I ask for double everything. Some wrap it very loosely, (that's what she said.) some wrap it like a damn taco lol. Which is what happened today. I could feel it squishing around through the foil that I knew they did a half assed job securing the ingredients inside. The second I pick the burrito up, or try to. It falls open and everything spills out. I've had this happen while I was eating in my car a few times and that was NOT fun to clean up afterwards. Looked like a high school cafeteria food fight from a 90's movie. Yes, I could get a bowl and a tortilla on the side. But I personally think bowls are overrated. Please, learn to wrap a burrito!! In my opinion, a well constructed/wrapped burrito (or a sandwich) greatly improves eating experience. It changes the look of the food and sometimes even changes the taste. 4 out of 5 times, the burritos in this Chipotle location are wrapped by people who have 0 skills with his/her hands. Especially, what I had today looked like a hunk of vomit in a loosely wrapped tortilla bag. There is no shape or structure whatsoever. It became so messy and so difficult to eat and I had to put it on a plate and use a fork to eat it. The only reason I gave two stars is because each ingredient tasted decent and what you usually expect from other Chipotles. I highly recommend that you should order a bowl, here. The chips were especially bad today. It was way too salty and soggy. It is unusual that my family did not finish a large bag of chips like today. I love Chipotle. I am a regular at many of their locations. When I travel I always end up at a Chipotle at some point because it's comfort food that I've become accustomed to and relatively inexpensive for what you get. So I have a good weath of Chipotle experience I would say. That being said this location is hands down the worst that I have ever experienced in the US. I've already addressed my issues to the manager months ago before I stopped going there. She told me she was new and things were going to get better. Well they have not. This chipotle at Lincoln mall was good up till a certain point but over the recent years it literally has gotten worse. I usually ordered through postmates and never really have an issue but 2 hours just to prepare a meal. That's a bit overkill in my opinion and im never a complainer but come on you know. And im an up and go kind of person when I order from because I never eat inside due to your chances of it probably trashed or obnoxiously loud at a certain time of day because of high schoolers. First timer to Chipotle. Would have been 3-4 stars if the place wasn't a mess. Service was efficient. Food pretty good. The place was not clean. Probably would have gone somewhere else if I had looked around first. Most of the tables where available indoors. Not one was clean. All smudges and rice and the like on tables and chairs. Had to ask a guy behind the counter to clean a table. He used a dish towel from the counter that was already used so I cleaned the table after he cleaned it. It did not look like regular cleaning was happen which is weird w covid. Trash was hanging out of the trash bins. Wore masks as requested at the door. They need someone cleaning the dining room.
