I visited Chip Cookies in Sacramento, CA [2080 Fair Oaks Blvd] on Wednesday, 07/08/26, around 2:00 PM. I decided to get a total of two SW chips, which were prepared with rich semi-sweet chocolate wafers + topped with Maldon sea salt. The cookie flavor was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. The chocolate was also super rich and decadent in every single bite; very addictive. Thankfully, I had a loyalty reward to redeem. I walked out of the cookie shop having spent only spending $5 (including tip). The inside of the store had a contemporary, inviting feel. The staff member who assisted me was affable. I was really looking forward to coming here on my birthday after a friend had these cookies delivered to me a couple weeks earlier. I'm not even a big sweets person, but I loved them, so I decided to drive to the Fair Oaks location to buy a 4-pack to share with my family. I ordered the Chip Flip 4-pack for $18.50. Since I was giving a couple away, I asked if they could be put in individual boxes. The employee told me no because I wasn't adding toppings. I said that's fine, then can I at least have the regular 4-pack box since that's what the menu advertises? She still said no. Instead, she put each huge cookie in a tiny wax paper sleeve, didn't give me a box, and didn't even offer a bag. She just left them on the counter for us to grab. As we were walking to the car, one slipped out of my daughter's hand. She handed me the other three and was about to go back inside when two more slipped out of my hands because those little sleeves were so slippery. By then we were so annoyed that we didn't even want to go back in and deal with the same employee. We got in the car, and the last cookie fell inside my car. All four cookies were ruined before we even left the parking lot. I called the store on my way home and spoke with Nav. He was much more understanding and even said I should have been given at least a box because carrying four cookies like that didn't make sense. Since I live in Elk Grove and didn't want to spend my birthday driving all the way back to Fair Oaks, he said I could come back another day for replacements. My sister lives much closer, so I asked if she could pick them up for me. Even that became an issue because Nav initially said I needed to be the one to pick them up. Then the employee argued that we only dropped one cookie. No, we lost all four because they weren't packaged properly. The whole thing was completely avoidable. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I just wanted the 4-pack to come in the box that's advertised on the menu, or at the very least a bag. Instead, I spent $18.50 on cookies that were ruined before I even got home. What was supposed to be a nice birthday treat turned into a frustrating experience, and honestly, I won't be coming back. read more

Just so you know #chiphappens - cookies are delicious. It's hard for me to pass up any bakery. When it comes to fancy cupcakes, cookies, and just about any dessert pasties - I can't resist. It's a must stop and shop for me. I will admit the cookies are shaped more like a biscuit or scone. I told myself no one would show case biscuits - you might see biscuits on a baking sheet but not in a glass show case. I had the white chocolate chip with cookie butter ( I think that's what it was called) doesn't matter the cookie was GOOD! Again, cookie dough not overly sweet and cooked though out. Not a cake texture under baked type of cookie. I couldn't eat the whole cookie in one sitting so I would say I got my money worth. I also brought the coco cookie and added cream cheese topping. The first thing that caught our attention about this place was the display outside advertising their cookie flavors. They had so many creative combinations with different toppings and components that it immediately drew us in. Everything sounded so unique and over-the-top in the best way. The shop itself is pretty small inside. There's only one table where you can sit, probably while waiting for your order, but the cookies come out fairly quickly so it wasn't an issue. This was our first time visiting and we learned that it's basically a cookie bar. They have different cookie bases and toppings so you can build your own cookie if you want. They also have recommended cookies and fan favorites, which are the ones they advertise outside--and that's exactly what we decided to go with. We ordered a box of four, and oh my God... these cookies are THICK. They're chewy, soft, and definitely on the sweeter side. Every bite was packed with flavor and you could taste every single component that was layered into the cookie. They really don't hold back with the toppings. I didn't know much about this place before visiting, I just wanted a good cookie after dinner. We walked into an empty store, and the menu is very simple. They only offer a handful of cookie flavors, but you can customize them with different toppings. Each cookie is around $5-6, so we opted for the four-pack to save a little and try a variety. Unfortunately, the cookies just weren't my favorite. They're very thick, round cookies (not flat at all), and the centers were quite underbaked and almost raw in the thickest part. There wasn't much to the shop except the order counter. This is strictly a pick up & go place with no seating. Only one lady was working & the couple ahead of us had lots of questions. While she was still with them, she did acknowledge us & let us know she'd be with us soon. I imagine that things can get backed up quickly with more customers. Once she got to us, she apologized for the wait. The space is very open, so sound echoes. A handful of people came in after us who were laughing & conversing, but it was enough to make it hard to talk with the worker & hear each other. I ended up choosing a Cocoa cookie from the display choices. The cookie that came out was a lot taller & less spread out than the display. I wasn't planning on adding toppings, but if I had, there wasn't a lot of good real estate on the uneven top. The cookie had a nice crisp crust to the outside, but was super tender & soft inside. It was cakey & could easily be mushed with finger pressure. It wasn't overly sweet & had a light chocolate flavor. I also got an iced latte. It was bold & one of the yummier lattes I've had. I stopped by Chip because I tried the Crocker location and really enjoyed it, but they may have had a different cookie selection at that location. I honestly wasn't a fan of the cookies here. I felt like the cookie were not very soft and chewy, but more on the dry side. I ordered a boneless cookie which is a butter cookie and that was just okay. I also ordered the BTS and a customer made cookie with biscoff cookie, cream cheese frosting, caramel drizzle and Oreo cookie topping. The cream cheese frosting was way too sweet my Oreos were stale and the caramel drizzle was good. I don't like that the biscoff cookie has white chocolate chips in it as it took away from the flavor of the Biscoff itself. The BTS I'll just passed on that it did not like it at all. I love cookies, but this location fell short. I will definitely come back and try their Matcha drinks. The service was great the staff was uber friendly and let me take my time on what I wanted to get. 1st things 1st the woman working here could not have been any nicer! I just love walking into a new establishment & feeling the positivity! It's cute & small & smells amazing! I ordered a sugar cookie which comes with cream cheese frosting & sprinkles. I've never had cream cheese frosting on a sugar cookie & it's totally good! I did wipe some off to just eat the cookie & I think I liked it better sans frosting. Congratulations on the second location! I stopped by Chip Cookie for their soft opening and their grand opening is July 5th. Chip Cookie is under the same ownership as their first location in Crocker Village; however, the Fair Oaks Blvd location is much more convenient for me and I anticipate that it'll draw in the college student crowd too! Chip Cookie has a good selection, and they even have a rotating weekly special. This week, their special was the S'mores, which I included in my Chip Flip Box. I also ordered the Tres Leche (per the owner's recommendation), the SW Chip, and Choconut Chip. The Tres Leche was definitely my favorite, and I love that they infused the condense milk straight into the cookie! Service was a little slow, but that's to be expected as the team is learning and adjusting to the ebbs and flow of foot traffic. Inside is clean and minimalistic, and Chip has a great set up with an assembly line style. There's no seating inside, so this is exclusively a grab and go spot. My daughter and I had a splurge day after school last week and got five cookies here (we did take them home to share) so we could try all their specialty cookies. We had the cookies and cream cookie, the chocolate coconut cookie, the kitchen sink cookie, the tres leche cookie, and the sugar cookie with sprinkles (not all of those are official names). We enjoyed all of them! Personally, I preferred them to Crumbl because I found these cookies to be a little chewier and less cakey. I came over here to check out before 4th of July and it was a really great experience to try out the drinks and cookies. I really love their coffee they use a coffee from Fremont and I had an ice Americano so I can try out the espresso and it was smooth and not to acidic and it was bold. I also love their matcha I had a matcha latte and without syrup so I can taste the matcha and it was really great and it is a great substitute if you don't want to drink coffee or espresso in the evening but you want a little bit of caffeine which don't really interrupt your sleep. For the cookies I did like the regular Biscoff cookie which was very fresh out of the oven and it was warm and it good size and it wasn't too much. I also try to tres leches cookie which had fresh whipped cream on top with condensed milk and cinnamon and sugar powder on top and it tastes like a horchata which was really fun and it is a little bit on the sweet side so if you don't like too much sweet then I would probably skip it. I also had their s'mores cookie which had lots of chocolate drizzle and some coconut flakes on top as well. Overall I prefer my cookies to be just only the cookie without all the toppings because I feel like it is enough sugar for me to be hyper enough. I would come back and get some more of their drinks or when I have a cookie craving or when I need some sweets after dinner. Inside is very minimal and has no seating it is a grab and go type of place. There is plenty of parking so that is very convenient and they are located in the same shopping plaza as Urban Plates. Upon walking in, the shop was very clean. It's clearly designed as a grab and go spot since there are no seats or tables, but the service was quick and efficient. The cookie was large, warm, and freshly baked. It was moist and not overly sweet, which I really enjoyed. The only downside was that the bottom was a little greasy, though it didn't affect the flavor. The iced matcha latte was good, but I felt it could have been mixed more thoroughly. Even after stirring, there were still some clumps of matcha, and the first sip was much sweeter than other matchas I've had. After letting the ice melt and mixing it a few times over a couple of hours, the drink balanced out. There were no more clumps and it was not as sweet. While there are a few things I'd tweak, it's important to note that this is a newer spot, so there's room to grow. Overall, I'd come back if I'm craving a fresh cookie and a drink. read more

The employee explained all of the options to me, but while I was reading over the menu again and making my decision, I felt like she was sort of hovering. I get that it was 15 minutes before closing, but you should still serve the things on your menu until closing. Then clean up after closing, that's how it works in food service. Also, while getting the detailed rundown of the menu, I was told the ice cream option wasn't available at that time because it was close to closing and the ice cream had been put away in the back. Again, things that should be done after closing. Now on to the actual cookie. I ordered one Biscoff cookie. The flavor was alright. It was overly sweet but it's a cookie so I guess that's to be expected. It's extra to add toppings, which I didn't do, and without they look very plain and unappealing presentation wise. The cookie was thick and soft in the middle, which I personally like so that was good. However, it made my stomach very upset so I'm not pleased. Was it worth almost $6? Personally, no. Will I be back? No. Was it better than the popular Crumbl cookie? Yes (but I also don't like Crumbl that much). I also don't eat sweets that often so maybe I'm not the best judge. Not for people who prefer crunchy, brittle, thin, and flimsy cookies. These are crispy, crunchy, on the outside, and the edge- and a nice PERFECT soft center that is just the perfect amount of sweetness! Give Chip Cookies their flowers because these are better than crumble and anything that falls under that umbrella. The young adults working are nice and patient and very friendly at this location and knowledgeable about the baked goods as well! Nice and modern decor inside not a lot of seating, but over brought these cookies home and reheated them in my oven and the quality and flavor kept up- so don't worry about them going bad if not eaten right away.
