Not only were they able to do the half dozen, but they also moved up the order a few days early because I couldn't wait. The staff went above and beyond with customer service and were so friendly. Not only was the service amazing, but the cupcakes were so good. We got a vanilla base with white icing, pink and blue sprinkles, and a blue icing on the inside. The cake was amazing and the cupcakes were frosted just the right amount. The cupcakes were soooooo good. We're so grateful that Smallcakes helped us plan the perfect moment and that the cupcakes not only looked pretty, they tasted great too. One of the really nice things is that they do make their ice cream on the premises and in small batches. They use nice little metal tubs in the case, like a gelato shop, and it looks so much more appetizing than those old messy cardboard tubs some other places use. The super friendly young man at the counter happily sold me the small kid's size which is all I can handle. I got my favorite, coffee, with Oreo mixed in. A win when I want to splurge. The price on this size was considerably less than a similar size at another popular place in town. I also would like to mention that though a small shop, it is nicely decorated and furnished and has always been very clean when I visited.

The staffing has changed over the years and so have some of the flavors. A few favorites have been sadly retired but there are still 8 regulars always in stock. There is still an amazing selection of new and different flavors, both seasonal and fun. The quality and serving size is still exceptional. My current favorite is Nutella and so classical smooth and blended with the sweet cream base in most flavors. The shop is always clean and when the season is prime, there are plenty of staff members to move the line forward. They are generous with tasting options and patient no matter how long a child or even adult takes to make u their mind. My husbnad sticks to his favorite Super Delicious Vanilla most of the time but occasionally tries something new. We have watched the current store manager move up from a new scoop staff over the years. It's that kind of place. All of the Sweet Cow locations are unique as they rotate flavors around. We have been known to "chase" flavors as one runs out at one stop, there could be stock at another. We re lucky to live halfway between the South Boulder store in Table Mesa and the North Boulder store in Community Plaza. We have even got to the Louisville original store when really desperate for a flavor. Next time I am there I will take newer pix than I have for a while. The still offer ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches, ready in a freezer for grab and go. We most often come to the south but we are also lily o hit the north when dining nearby.
