I always notice I find the best food when I have no idea what to expect, and when I'm not quite sure if I'll like it.
And so it was with Chinta Ria. Going here for a work function one Friday evening, I had no idea what the menu items were on the banquet we were all sharing, but nevertheless from the flavours I could smell throughout this cosy restaurant, I was sure it'd be ok.
When it came to the table I must admit, I turned my nose up a little. Just coz i was hungry and I really wanted to enjoy what I was going to eat, but from the looks of it I wasn't so sure. Until I bit into it. Oh. My. God! Delicious!!!
We had the Billies banquet for $31 per person. It started with curry puffs, spring rolls and something called ling ling, all of which was appetising.
Then out came the Indian Mee Goreng (scrumptious!), followed by Assam Fish (the sauce of which was exquisite, spicy, tangy and quite tropical with tomato and pineapple), and Beef Rendang, the curry and coconut sauce very Indian like.
There was also a spinach type dish, rice, bread, tea and coffee. It truly was a banquet, fit for Kings.
The entertainment is brilliant as well, and certainly reflects the 'Soul' in the name of this restaurant. Great food, good times, fantastic service and even better entertainment. It truly is good for the soul. read more
