On Christmas day, my friend called ten different spots and found they were all closed, except this one! Chingoo is a pleasant spot with awesome Korean food without stopping into K-town. The staff working was great and our food was prepared fairly quick. We had the Soondobu (kimchi version), beef japchae, and kalbi, all available on the lunch menu. Maybe because we came for lunch, banchan is not part of the meal. The flavors for all were mouthwatering and delicious. I'd come back for some tofu stew any day. read more

Great food and the sweetest staff! This is a place I regularly come to with my friends after work to catch up, and wind down. I highly recommend the kimchi tofu soup and beef ramen ! read more

You guys are gonna get tired of us reviewing Korean restaurants... But Korean is the ultimate cheat day special because NYC has a ton of great Korean restaurants... And this one is good too. We had all the traditional stuff but threw in mandoo with rice cake which was... not great (or good). But everything else we had was quite tasty. read more

Delicious Korean food in the Williamsburg area. Owner of the place is always happy to greet us and help with anything. Plenty of tables and never been super busy. My favorite is the galbi, but don't sleep on the creamy udon! read more

Food and service are excellent. The food is real authentic Korean food, with the proper ingredients and flavor profiles. Their lunches are delicious and affordable. What a neighborhood gem! read more

As someone who lived in Korea for two years, this place is amazing and very authentic. Keep up the great work!

We've tried the yukgaejang, the bulgogi, the wings, the baos and the bibimbap as delivery from here and loved it. Wings and other fried food definitely don't stay as crispy when they're being transported further than the kitchen to dining room, but flavors were tasty. The yukgaejang was super warm and tasty when it came, it was like a hug to my soul during a cold day. I love the chicken bao too! They always throw in pickled radish with your order. read more

This place was absolutely wonderful takeout. From what I could tell on a Friday, there was no outdoor seating, so all of their profit comes from to go orders. Please support this business! We ordered the Korean wings (half spicy and half soy garlic), creamy kimchi udon, and bul go gi. The wings were absolutely delicious. The spicy ones in particular were super saucy and perfectly spicy. The creamy kimchi udon was so delicious and different. I've never had anything like it and it was so delicious. Finally the bul go gi was sweet and couldn't go wrong. Overall, this was a solid 10/10. It's wonderful having a delicious Korean restaurant so close to home! read more

Chingoo Restaurant - L6. Kimchi Chigae Lunch Special - Korean Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Got some takeout from Chingoo, which is down the street from me. They have four tables set up in their little patio, so maybe one day I'll check that out. The staff was super nice. My food was ready fairly fast. It's a nice space and the patio looked decent. The menu isn't insanely long, which is kind of nice and they have lunch specials as well. The food: Korean Fried Chicken - it was good, had a bit of kick, super crunchy, great flavor...didn't steam in the box for too long Soon Do Boo - it was delicious, tasted amazing and hits the spot on colder days TLDR: it's typical Korean food prices and the food is actually good. It's great to have a Korean spot in the area. Would totally recommend and I don't think you'd go wrong with anything you order. read more

Great flavors and super friendly owner! Love supporting this mom and pop establishment.

A welcome and much needed addition to the neighborhood of Greenpoint/Williamsburg! Owned locally by a small team of very friendly Koreans, I was introduced to this restaurant by a good friend of mine who was there with his family a week or two prior. As an American born Korean, my standards for Korean food is pretty high having been brought up with traditional food and with homemade cooking. Highly recommend to check out! read more

First time here or at any Korean place in NYC. Saw the reviews and gave it a try. Place was cozy and owner welcoming. Waiter helped with making a choice and they were both really good. Overall good experience. Recommend you give it a try. read more

Found this place via doordash and had such a good experience, decided to go in person as well. Bibimbap excellent, and you get the full clay pot experience if you eat in person (vs delivery), galbi is phenomenal, and the seafood pancake is an all around favorite. All-in-all, highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and looking for a good korean dining experience in or out. Focus on the food and not on the fact you are eating on the sidewalk, unless you want to eat indoors. They may have backyard seating, I am not sure; I just plopped down outside on the sidewalk since I was starbing and didnt want to work too hard. No banchan though, but understandable. read more

Made a res for a Saturday dinner, party of 4. The place wasn't that busy but the service was friendly. We ordered beer, soju and tea and shared many dishes family style: rice cakes with dumplings, seafood pancake, galbi, a stew, japchae with beef and udon. The dishes were decent sized and had a lot of flavor. The prices are super reasonable and food came out pretty quick. We would recommend it. If you're in the area, would be a good, reliable takeout spot! read more

We've ate at Chingoo over 10 times now, it's that good! I always recommend the soondubu, but recently I had the kimchi seafood udon noodles and that was so unique (think spaghetti carbonara with kimchi and seafood), it's my new favorite dish. The service is great and has such homey feel, I'm very happy to have a restaurant like Chingoo in Williamsburg read more

Amazing new Korean spot in East Williamsburg! I'm Korean and I crave a warm Korean meal at least once a week, so I'm happy this opened up in this area as the closest Korean spot is in Williamsburg. This spot has classic comfort dishes like hot stone bibimbap and kimchi stew and also has modernized takes like kimchi fries. Great vegan options too. Food is great, especially for the price, compared to other NYC spots. And the staff is Korean! So it feels authentic. Decor is simple & inviting, service is swift, great for solo dining or with a large party. They also do delivery on Seamless!! read more

I'm a creature of habit. For nearly all of 2020, I've been ordering Korean delivery, every Sunday, from different K-restaurants in the area. It's my one non-self-cooked meal of the week and I like specific Korean dishes: bibimbap, yoo gae chang and tukbokki (pardon my poor spelling!). The bibimbap was decent here, but I thought their version of goochujang (I think) sauce to be more on the smokier side. I personally love wood ear mushrooms in my yoo gae chang (not so in their version) and found their broth to be on the oily side. They also don't have a traditional tukbokki dish, it's a combo with Mandoo and I have to say, THAT is a reason to order from here, because it was good. I'll have to sample their wings and some of their other popular dishes, to get a real feel for this place. But as always, thankful for any restaurant that's able to delivery during these times! read more

No wait at 1pm on a Thursday in February. Looked clean inside. The tables had space between them, mostly 2 and 4 tops but looked like they could be put together for a large group. Very polite, attentive service. We ordered the spicy chicken bao, tofu & veg bibim bap, and jeyuk kimchi bokum (pork, spicy). I can't comment on authenticity, but we enjoyed each one. For my taste, my bibim bap needed lots of hot sauce and kimchi. Would recommend if you're already in the vicinity. read more

Awesome food and service. Delicious vegetarian options with tofu and eggs. Love it and totally recommend it.

Happy that there's a Korean restaurant 2 blocks from my house; definitely convenient for us. Food was good but there's room for improvements. First traditionally there are always banchan but there was none which was disappointing. Hopefully they will add this bc what's Korean food without it? The best part is the assortment of banchan. Kimchi pancake was satisfying; the outside of the pancake was perfectly crispy but the inside was smushy though. Galbi was great but I was hoping for lettuce on the side to wrap with soy bean paste and gojuchang paste. Kimchi chigae was pretty good but was missing an egg on top :( Japchae & bi bim bap was good. Maybeeeee I am so just use to the Korean restaurants in Flushing & K-Town. We would definitely come back and recommend this to everyone in the area. But maybe the restaurant can consider adding the missing items to their menu and maybe can you guys add Yukgaejang for the Winter season??? That would be a dream! read more

It was good! Definitely worth trying. I wouldn't say it's authentic Korean food, the ramen soup was missing something that would make it tastes Korean. I was hungover and really wanted some soup and love either Korean soup or Vietnamese pho. We were in a new city and the closest place was Chingoo so we gave it a try. It's good and I would go again, but I do not expect authentic Korean food, it is a bit Americanized. read more

Home-cooked vibe: had the dhukbhukee, kimchee pajeon, and sizzling dohlsot...almost as good as mom's, except without the incessant passive aggression about when i'm getting married.
