Can't give them 5 with Great Taste right down the road but wow I was not expecting them to be this good! I was on shift and called ahead for a Chicken with Mixed Vegetables. They said ready in 5 minutes. I showed up in 4 and it was already packed. Wow that was suspiciously fast but oh my lord it was so fresh it burned my mouth. They whipped this thing up just like that! Usually when I order this from other places I feel like garbage after, the sauce is too gooey, the chicken tastes like bread and I regret everything. Not today! I been at Chinese restaurants around the world NEVER have i experienced such poor customer service! The absolute WORST, save your money. I ordered a lunch special after, spending my hard earned money there for me and a co worker. I got a shrimp lo mein only to open the container when he got back and it had HALF lo mein half pork fried rice. I called and ask why, why didn't the whole container have lo mein, they proceeded to tell me it came with it and if I wanted only lo mein it would've been in a smaller container Now, that's fair BUT this was a first cause never have I had rice come w my dish and BE IN MY DISH! Needless to say it was pork fried rice! Which is why I ordered shrimp to begin w/ cause I DONT EAT PORK! The man that answered the phone was acting like he was doing me a favor and proceeded to yell at me and argue w me telling me "how am I supposed to know" and "next time know what you're ordering" despite the fact that I was never made aware that the food came w rice to begin w/ that it would all be in the same plate and it would INCLUDE PORK WHICH I DONT EAT. Better than a lot of carry out places. They accept credit cards but charge a 3.95% processing fee. They have a noticed taped to the counter that explains it at the end. We moved up to road from this restaurant 6 months ago and have ordered several times out of convenience. The food order is NEVER right when we get it. Crab rangoons are basically thin fried pieces of dough considering they don't put more than a few drops of filling in it. I made my husband vow to not order from here anymore since the food tastes bland yet still extremely greasy. Indeed I may have to venture all the way into Southern New Britain regularly for my Chinese fix. Usually I like chicken & broccoli, but I also like chicken with garlic sauce despite not liking the veggies you get with it. So I bravely ask them to alter their menu... or did I? "Uhm, can you do like, chicken & broccoli with the garlic sauce?" "L16. Right there." "Oh, Snap! There is is!" "You like that? I'm GOOD aren't I?" Chuckled quite a bit... there's some funny fellows working back there. But they're also making good food! Really enjoyed my lunch special - some of which are as low as $5.50 for an entree and rice... It's not expensive and still reasonable with regards to dinner prices. They also do excellent fried rice. I'm beginning to loathe that canary yellow crap... give me fried rice that actually looks like grains of rice that have been lightly fried! They do it here. We saw this place Yelped favorably, so once again we decided to eat take-out Chinese. It ain't real Chinese; we've had that in, well, China. For us, it's kinda like why we go to McDonalds every once in a while. It's a flavor/texture combination that's like comfort food (it stems from a poor childhood, where Chinese take-out, McDonalds and the like were treats not enjoyed not more than once every two months or so). Some rather ambitious menu items are what piqued our interest. We asked for Sichuan beef, and they obliged. It was only mildly spicy, but flavorful, with plenty of tender beef and crispy veggies (too much broccoli). Spareribs on the bone were meaty and flavorful. Egg rolls were tasty, but very, very greasy. A half a chicken was dry, but we expected that. Pork fried rice was very good, and light in color - no pre-made sauce here. Shrimp chow mein was good (I'm turning it into egg foo young today). The white rice they use is parboiled (think Uncle Bens). It's a far cry from the polished, sticky rice served at this place's most humble competitors. Finally, best buddy speaks Chinese, but not the dialect they speak. He said their flattery of his Chinese was phony and gratuitous. I'm not saying don't go here; I'm just saying don't set your expectations too high. Ordered Beef Lo'mein and Wonton Soup and totally regret wasting my $20 and even tipping the delivery driver. The food was very disappointing! Wonton soup is made with beef broth, thick wonton noodles filled with a teaspoon size of pork meatball. The Beef Lo'mein was mostly made of salty noodles and small chops of chipped beef, it had no julienne carrots, green onion, or water chestnut. The whole meal had no flavor just salty noodles. I recently started working in the area and have been trying out different food spots nearby. Ever since my first visit to Chinese Kitchen I've been absolutely hooked. I usually bring my own lunch but now I try to order from them at least once a week. They have some of the best Chinese food I've personally had in ages. My favorite menu item is their Sesame Chicken which they prepare in a sauce that is different than that of any other Chinese restaurant I've ever ordered from. It is absolutely delicious! Their staff are always super friendly and helpful. I typically order via their online ordering service. They always have my order ready right on time, to the minute, hot and ready to go. It's awesome! I believe they only have a single table or two inside so it's not the best sit-down place for a group or family but most people get it as takeaway so that's fine. I have NEVER been through this before when ordering food there! I have gotten soured Egg Rolls (spoiled), which I demanded be replaced with fresh ones. But this was a first! I did call another Restaurant, Tasty's. Spent much less on same exact order. They are not the best but they are good, depending on what you like. The prices are fair and the people are much more professional. Nicer...If you order something you don't like, they'll change it or refund your money with no attitude or problems. I guess i'll be the first to review this place. I usually get the hot & spicy shrimp or beef in garlic sauce which are both great. they also have pretty good fried rice and crab rangoon. You can get a lunch combo for like 7 or 8 dollars(I havent been home in over a year so the prices may have gone up). The spareribs are also pretty good, and the beef on a stick(dont remember what it's called) is delicious and tender. So if you're craving some good cheap chinese food then be sure to stop here. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give this place your business. Multiple times I have encountered the owner screaming at his wife or his workers. The other night I had my order mixed up and when I called and asked for a refund and the right order, he continued to tell me that what I ordered (which was not what he gave me) was the same thing on the menu as what he gave me. He then cussed at me using the F word and screamed at me that I don't know what I'm talking about because he's been there for 23 years.
