After the way my complaint was handled, I will not be returning. When I placed my order, I specifically requested the vegetables I wanted in my vegetable soups and clearly stated that I did NOT want baby corn or peas. I was assured that my request would be accommodated. Yet when I received my order, the soup contained exactly what I had asked them to leave out. I called to explain the problem and was told there was nothing they could do because those are the ingredients that come in the soup. Then why assure me that my request could be accommodated? I have ordered this soup several times before with the vegetables I requested, so this was not some unreasonable expectation. I am angry about paying for an order that was not prepared as agreed and then being brushed off when I called about it. Mistakes happen, but refusing to take responsibility or make things right is unacceptable customer service. After several years of supporting this restaurant, I expected better. Golden Kitchen has lost a longtime customer.

We came here for my friends birthday and I am pretty sure I have been here before to eat. I know my friend comes here at least once a week to get food to go. Yup, they sell food to go. Probably charge by the weight of the container? I don't know. I typically don't add buffets to my travel list. Why exactly? I don't have a specific reason, really. But I've added this and Grand Village Buffet now, so there are exceptions to my rules. This one is a bit pricey. The price for a dinner on a Saturday night was $15 and change. All in all, a pretty good buffet. The service was prompt. Selection was decent and plentiful despite them closing 90 minutes after we got there. Online reviews are hit and miss, but that seems standard for any Chinese buffet/restaurant.

However, I have gotten the mongolian chicken and the hunan chicken and they both come in this really weird sweet & sour sauce. The sauce isn't very good as it either needs to be sweeter or have more of a savory taste. It is definitely missing something but I prefer mongolian dishes to not have a sweet sauce in them. I have also tried the chicken lo mein and it was better than the mongolian and hunan dishes because it did not have that weird sauce, but it was just ok in the end Moral to the story: Go for the crab rangoon! But if you never been to one of these places, those are the things you can expect. I can't remember this trip verbatim. We got there, ordered food and sat down. They were nice enough to bring our food out to us as we were seated around the corner from the cashier counter. Typically these places do not have a ton of seating and this place is the same, if not having a bit more than what I am used to. Now I have visited a lot of these style of restaurants and for the most part, they are all about the same tasting. But Jade Garden is a notch above. Not sure what the difference here is. Everything just tasted a bit better. Even my friends agreed that it was super good. Even on sub sequential visits, I have had great food. To wrap up the first visit though, we all enjoy a great meal and even hung out for awhile afterwards to relax, chit-chat and let the food settle. Since my first visit, East Peoria has acquired a Panda Express and a Jun's Chinese Restaurant (which has unfortunately closed). I am kind of jumping around here but Jade is a notch above your typical fast food Chinese place. If you find yourself in the East Peoria area and need some great Chinese, give 'Jah-day Gar-deen' a chance! In my quest to try all the Chinese restaurants in my local area, I happened upon this place. Inside, it is your typical small restaurant with limited seating and a large menu. General Tsao's was my choice of meal and was it a good choice. Everything was delicious! Situated in a strip mall in that strange area between Creve Coeur and Pekin known as... North Pekin... Lian Wang serves up your typical fast Chinese. Having been here a few times since 2013, I can say that the food and service are great upon repeated visits. The person that took my order was the same each time and she started to get what I wanted down to a 'T'. While I stand aside and wait for my food to come out, I notice that the cashier has half of the area's orders memorized. Almost each customer that came in was offered with the remark of "the usual"? Now that is quite the memory. Like I said, Lian Wang offers nothing new or exciting but that is exactly what you get with these kinds of places.
