The general tsos was ok. I have to say it did have a nice level of spice to it. The eggroll was just ok but I haven't had a good eggroll since I moved to Fl. The chicken rice soup was also very yellow and had a sweet taste to it that I had to toss it. The delivery was fast and they gave me a regular soda instead of diet. I was really hoping to love this place but unfortunately I won't be back.

You walk in and immediately think: "Am I even allowed to be in here?" The dining room is barricaded off... yet somehow each time I some patron or another over there. I don't know what they're scaling to get over that side, but it's happening, even though no dining will occur. The restrooms are reportedly inaccessible due to a parking lot construction issue affecting the pipes - which makes me wonder what the employees do when nature calls, but I'm not ready to get that deep question-wise. It's been months, though, since this issue began... so I constantly wonder if I will ever bear witness to the sight of whatever may be in the restrooms. The lighting says "B-horror chic." The interior feels one strong wind away from becoming a liminal-space meme. If A24 opened a Chinese takeout restaurant, this would be it. And yet... The people behind the counter are always genuinely nice. The prices are shockingly fair. The portions are solid. And the food? Honestly delicious. Somehow the aesthetic almost makes the food better. It has the energy of a place that has survived recessions, hurricanes, and possibly a haunting... purely on the strength of its lo mein. I especially appreciate that every visit feels mildly suspenseful. You pull into the parking lot wondering if the place is still open, walk through the door seriously questioning your life choices, and leave 15 minutes later carrying enough excellent takeout for two meals for around $20. You then also enjoy that food immensely and I've never once felt gross start eating it. Also, despite the deeply unsettling vibe, I've never once gotten the impression through furtive attempts at glancing back that way that the kitchen itself is dirty. Weirdly enough, the food consistently tastes fresher and more cared-for than places that spent $200,000 on Edison bulbs and reclaimed wood. Top China is so very sketchy. Top China is delicious. Top China will absolutely get my business again.

My dad was visiting from out of town, and since he loves trying new restaurants, we took him to…read moreThai Samurai. Our first visit was great -- we spent around $120, and he said the sushi was some of the best he's had in a long time. He liked it so much that a couple nights later, before he left town, he wanted it again. We even waited about 45 minutes in the parking lot for them to open (they open at 4:30 on certain weekdays) because he was craving the Spicy Conch roll that badly. For our second order, we got two Spicy Conch hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll, and a Lollipop roll. We live about 20 minutes away, and because our first experience was perfect, we didn't think to check the bag before driving home. When we got home, all of the hand rolls were spicy tuna -- none were the Spicy Conch rolls my dad specifically wanted. The receipts on the bag clearly showed the correct items, so I'm not sure how it left the kitchen wrong. Since my dad was leaving town and this was the one thing he really wanted, I called the restaurant. They offered to replace the two Spicy Conch hand rolls, which I appreciated. I originally said I'd pick them up another time, but I decided to make the 20‑minute drive back so he could enjoy them before he left. When I called to place the replacement order, I also added a Deep Sea roll -- his favorite from our first visit. What disappointed me was that when I arrived, they charged me for the Deep Sea roll. I'm not someone who expects free food, but considering the mistake, the clearly printed receipts, and the fact that I had to make a 40‑minute round trip twice, covering a $14 roll would've been a simple, classy gesture. Especially since they usually read totals over the phone, and this time they didn't -- which made me think they were taking care of it. I did hear the sushi chef say "tell them I'm sorry," which I genuinely appreciated. The food itself is very good, and that's why we went back. But based on this experience, if you're ordering takeout, definitely check your bag before leaving. The quality is there, but the way the mistake was handled didn't match the level of the food.

We chose this restaurant because it was one of the few nearby that had gluten free options for me. They didn't know, and we didn't tell them, but we are all here together for my aunt's funeral service, so their kindness and patience meant a lot to us. They were great at accommodating the two kiddos in our party and their particular dining needs, and everything came out as requested. The miso soup was quite salty for my cousin. My Tom Yum Soup was pretty good, but not very spicy. I enjoyed my Panang Curry, and there was a lot of unagi in my cousin's Unagi Donburi. My uncle ordered the ramen and it took a really long time to come out, but I wonder if it was just due to staff shortage in the back relative to our party size. Overall, we had a very nice experience and would recommend this restaurant.

The nam khao (crispy rice) is one of my favorite dishes of all time, with crispy rice, peanuts, minced pork and seasonings wrapped in lettuce. I do wish that they gave bigger lettuce pieces so I could actually wrap the rice as the small pieces made it very difficult to hold any substantial pieces of rice on it. The flavor was great thought and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The tapioca balls had meat inside and the consistency of the tapioca balls worked so well with the consistency of the meat and the flavors complemented each other nicely. The panang was SPICY. I got a medium and the flavor was so rich but so dangerous for my reflux. It reheated well too, although the spice does not lessen at all. It's amazing that there's a Lao place in Tampa and the owners are so nice and the food is ready very quick.
