Never again. The food isn't terrible. But the customer Service is. The manager alone is horrible. I guess, if your order comes out, right, it deserves the one star. First time ordering here. Tried both healthy and comfort Chinese food. The Green Jade delight vegetables with choice of sauce on the side (I went with garlic sauce as another yelper mentioned it and it did not disappoint! Veggies were crisp and fresh- I liked dipping them instead of drowning them. It comes with white rice and you can also add protein if you'd like. Of course I had to try the boneless spareribs and they were by far the best I've ever had! Not fatty at all, sauce was deliciously sweet but not overpowering. The fried rice was really full of flavor. Great egg roll, you can tell that they definitely change the air fryer oil regularly. The wonton soup was light and hit the spot on a cold night. Personally I was not a fan of the fried dumplings only because they are very doughy but my brother loved them! Overall everything had a very clean fresh taste to it. This is our favorite Chinese food in the area. Ingredients and sauces are far more 'authentic' than other fast food Chinese restaurants in the area. Food is always served piping hot. Egg rolls and fried dumplings are so tasty! Ask for the hot oil, and dip your dumplings in both the garlic sauce and hot oil. DELICIOUS! I always get the beef lo mein, and my husband always gets the shrimp fried rice. We rarely go anywhere else these days. So good! read more

t look like , any kind of chicken I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant the pork fried rice while it was decorative with a lot of colored vegetables in it it was bland and had no flavor two eggrolls. I took one bite out of one I threw them away I gave the chicken and broccoli to my dogs after rinsing it off and they would not touch it. My dogs eat anything but they would not touch this horrid excuse for chicken and broccoli, the owners of this place should be ashamed of themselves. They should be sent back to China. They should not be allowed to cook food in the United States of America. They are a disgrace to their profession do not eat this food. Please do not order food from this horrible place I am calling the health inspectors office on Monday. I'm going to tell them about the rack that I saw running around the kitchen while I was waiting to pick up my food, hopefully they will be thoroughly inspected and shut down by the state. This is the worst Chinese food I've had in all 49 years of me being on this earth do not eat here. I cannot stress it enough. Do not eat here. My dog ate. The food is amazing. I was a loyal customer who ate here up to two times a week, but after the service I received today I will never eat here again. I live right across the street (5 min walk) and they told me its a $10 minimum at lunch time although all of their specials are less than $7. So after tip I would need to end up paying more than double for what I wanted. I am disabled and do not drive. I have a hard time walking and specially up and down hills. Regardless, I needed to eat. It took me two hours to muster up the strength to walk over. I called ahead and they have the caller ID that links to your address so they knew it was me, the person they just told about the minimum... they failed to mention that they have a card minimum which is ILLEGAL for debit transactions. I asked the guy if they could make an exception since I grabbed a drink and my total was $8 (their minimum was $9) and they said no. After all of that I walked back home empty handed because I refuse to give these people my money. read more

In October 2014, I received, in the mail, a Grand Opening Menu for this place. Based on the details of this menu, upon realizing that China Wok in Wolcott was not yet listed on Yelp, I added the business name and details, hoping that someone would positively review it and I'd go there. To date, as you can see, there are 3 other reviews and one tip, all good but all very recent. Upon searching China Wok on Google this week, I found 38 reviews, rating this place at 4.6 out of 5! So I ordered from there yesterday, got delivery (which I've never done), and had the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life! And their Thai offerings are delicious as well! Delivery arrived in 40 minutes (less time than what they predicted), food was piping hot and extremely fresh, prices are reasonable, AND they take credit cards over the phone (this is a huge plus for me because I use plastic over cash 99% of the time). The fried rice is packed with all of the things you'd expect in it, the noodles (i.e. Chow Mei Fun and Pad Thai) are amazing, and the Pu Pu Platter is better than any I've ever tasted. AND, you get a choice of free items based on how much you spend (we got the General Tso's Chicken, which also was delicious). So don't settle for subpar Chinese Food, friends: Wolcott has the best Chinese/Thai food prepared fresh and fabulous at China Wok!! read more

I've been roaming around the Waterbury area for other takeout Chinese restaurants options outside my normal town offerings. On Halloween night I decided to try China Wok. It's not in tje most family friendly plaza in my opinion, right next to a liquor store but when I entered the restaurant I noticed how many people were lined up waiting for food. Now it could of been the night but I dont think I've ever seen such a line for Chinese takeout. The menu is very standard with your normal Chinese takeout options. The prices are also inline with every other option in the area. The staff was quick and had my order ready to go. They offer coupons for family offers on their menu. Didn't know but I know for next time. The food itself was fresh. The oil they use didn't taste old or constantly reused and reused. None of the breaded chicken was overcooked or have too much sauce like it can sometimes from other takeout restaurants. So far this has to be the best one thus far in the Waterbury area and I have eaten from atleast 5 in the area. read more

This place(China Wok on Meriden Rd, Waterbury Ct) is getting worse and worse with their customer service after I stopped going there for over a month because the service is decreasing I stopped in and requested the crab sticks and French fries my usual meal I also add barbecue sauce which they charge a dollar for, my total comes up to $8.40 like I said this is my normal order so I'm very clear the minimum is $9.00 after confirming to charge me the $9.00 I usually pay they constantly tried to up sell by asking do I want something else or to add a drink. NO I don't want to add anything I would like to pay for what I ordered and up-charge my order to meet the credit card minimum. We just moved to Waterbury and were looking for a Chinese place . I decided off of reviews to order from here. Granted my order was slightly messed up and understandable but they were kind enough to give a credit for the future since I didn't have time for them to correct it . Seriously the food was amazing!!!! It wasn't salty or over seasoned the crab Rangoon was delicious and it's been years since I found a place with good crab Rangoon . This is probably some of the BEST chinese, I've had in some time! Originally I was going to take my husband out for Korean, but something made keep scrolling in yelp and viola a WINNER. I'm a crab rangoon snob and theirs is a solid win over every chinese place but one. The beef mei fun is full of beef and flavorful noodles. Could use a bit more veggies though. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken and it was on point. I highly recommend this place, and it is really close to bristol. When we got our food home, it was still hot and fresh!!!! This place is terrific! Best Chinese food we've had in some time. We had tried the general tso chicken and the Lo-Mein noodles as well as some eggs rolls. The food was fresh, not "greasy as some Chinese food tends to be. We picked this place because we went to the Southington theatre and it was on our way home. Couldn't have been happier. It's about 14 minutes from my house, I've got about 4 other Chinese places I could go to that aren't as far but I'll happily drive the extra to come here! read more

This place had really good reviews which doesn't always mean much. In this case I agree with the reviews. The food is really good. Not greasy. My car didn't smell like fried food after picking it up. I wanted to give five stars or at least 4.5 but only one person was wearing a mask. None of the cooks. They did have the door open for ventilation I imagine. Some reviews complained of rudeness and I didn't experience that but i didn't experience friendliness or customer appreciation either. Hence 4 stars. It was my first time so we will see.
