Ordered delivery & it exceeded our expectations! My sister & I ordered orange chicken, broccoli beef, combo fried rice, and veggie spring rolls. We had plenty leftover after dinner and enjoyed the rest for lunch the next day-- help up well! The sauces are on the oilier side, but flavorful & tasty nonetheless. I'll definitely be eating here again!

Fried Braised Tofu in Brown Sauce & Curry Beef over rice are YUMMY. Don't forget the hot tea.

Great place, the food are awesome and the people here are so kind, friendly and always make you welcome. I just love this place.

Hot and Sour Soup

Went for Daily Lunch Special Food - 3/5. Hot and sour soup had decent flavor with a heavy tone of black pepper. Consistency was standard, thickened with starch but still slurpable. Fried rice was alright with minimal amounts of wok hei. Almond chicken was soft but the flavor consisted mostly of soy sauce. Sweet and sour pork had a lot of batter and the vegetables were hard. Sauce was sweet and tangy, but the consistency was too thick and the flavor was generic. Service - 4/5. Quick, courteous service. Value - 2/5. They offer combination plates for $17 or above during lunch with a set menu depending on your selection. For the price, the amount of food you get was small, especially on the protein side. There was 4 pieces of pork compared to the large amount of filler vegetables. The quality wasn't anything impressive either. It's hard to justify the cost when there is so much competition in that price range. Parking - Private Lot (Free)

Hot & Sour Soup - comes with the combo

China Wok is a great no-frills Chinese restaurant in an otherwise pricey area, dining and living-wise. We typically stop by for their lunch specials, which are about $14-$16 each. I recently got the C4 special - Almond Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Fried Rice, which comes with Hot & Sour Soup as well. The staff are friendly and the service is fast as the restaurant is never full. If you're looking for something quick, tasty, and relatively cheap for dining out, this is a great spot to try!

Better off going to panda. Too expensive for the food. White rice with orange chicken for $19.

Food and experience is closer to 4.5 but rounded down bc it's so expensive…read more Was curious to try this new restaurant specializing in Peking duck. Reservation was easy to make over the phone and you have to preorder duck ahead of time. We also got pan fried buns, bok choy, and mandarin fish. Dishes are expensive but good quality. I read mixed reviews about the duck but I thought it was great - crispy skin and relatively tender/juicy meat. It is the first time I've seen an extra charge for the duck pancake wrappers; it was not a pleasant surprise but at least they were thin and delicious. We opted to have a soup made from the leftover duck and that was delicious. Service was also pretty good; they even packaged the leftovers for us. Highly recommend for a special occasion or to impress friends but too much of a splurge to go to regularly.

Unfortunately, the experience was pretty underwhelming overall. The Peking duck was definitely the highlight of the meal -- crispy skin, flavorful, and probably the only dish I'd genuinely come back for. But everything else missed the mark for me. We ordered the string beans, salted egg corn shrimp, xiao long bao, pork buns, cabbage dry pot, and black pepper beef. Most of the dishes lacked flavor and were noticeably oily. The pork buns were especially disappointing because the dough was overly thick and dense compared to the filling. The biggest letdown was probably the black pepper beef. The meat quality was really poor..a lot of chewy pieces with tendons, and it was hard to enjoy because almost every bite felt tough. Definitely not what I expected from a restaurant with this reputation. Overall, aside from the duck, the food felt heavy, bland, and not very balanced flavor-wise. I really wanted to love this place, but it didn't live up to the expectations for me.

Went for Weekday Lunch Special…read more Food - 5/5. Soup was sweet and sour with a bit of umami, mostly from the tomato. Its consistency was standard with a good mouthfeel. Pork chops were savory with a nice bite. The seasoning was just enough to elevate the rich flavor of the pork. The cabbage side dish had a delicious umami flavor that came from shrimp and the potato side dish was soaked in a soy-based sauce that gave it a strong taste. I was amused by the fact that the potatoes were actually french fries, meaning they are being creative with whatever they have on hand. The results were yummy side dishes, so in a way, it showcases their culinary skills. Rice was fluffy and the pickled mustard greens were a great palate cleanser. Service - 4/5. Quick and courteous service. They served the soup before I even ordered; I must have a 'orders lunch special' look to me. Value - 5/5. They have a good selections for their lunch special, all ranging between $15-$17. Each comes with your choice of entree, soup, rice, pickled greens, and two sides. I really enjoyed the variety and the portion sizes were substantial. Great lunch special! Parking - Street (Free)

We enjoyed the Moon Shrimp cake, hot sour soup, sizzling beef with black bean sauce, sautéed green beans and kung pao salmon. They quickly took us in, ordered and served food. You can really taste the delicious wok flavor in their cooking. You. Must. Order. The green beans. They're sooo delicious and you'll instantly be a big fan. Bonus is that they're not spicy so it's perfect for kids. They'll love to eat their veggies after having a bite of this. Parking is confusing, they have a lot behind that's easy to miss. I recommend parking at the end of the block and walk over.

We decided to try the BBQ Whole Catfish with Vegetables to share, along with sides of rice. **The Experience** The dish came out on a hot pot/plate surrounded by lots of chili, which made for an interesting presentation. The fish itself was pretty good--it was tender and not overcooked. The vegetables that came with it were the highlight, as they were nicely flavored and cooked. The sides of rice were a great addition and helped balance out the richness of the fish. While the fish was cooked well, I found the overall dish lacked a bit of flavor. It had a fair amount of oil but didn't bring enough taste to balance it out. The rice helped, but the dish would have benefited from a bit more seasoning or sauce. Service was fast and efficient. The pricing is reasonable, with the BBQ Whole Catfish dish priced at around $48 for the whole fish. With the rice, it made for a filling meal. While I didn't find the dish to be perfect, I'd like to return and try some of their other offerings in the future.

Yes, yet another excellent restaurant joins the vibrant scene of downtown Mountain View. Mr. Bao Kitchen's streamlined menu yielded great gustatory rewards. We started out with Tomato Egg Drop Soup. Really nice and comforting, to prepare us for the delicacies to arrive next. Pan-fried Dumplings (Shen jien Bao) were terrific and almost molten hot inside. Surprise of hot soup awaits inside the hefty dumpling wrapper, therefore: Bee very careful when biting into the Shen jien Bao. Meantime, Vegetable Mushroom Steamed Dumplings arrived in a big tall steamer basket with dipping sauce side. Vibrant green wrappers on these were hearty thick, delightful and delectable. Pork Cabbage Dumplings are a solid recipe with nice filling. Fried Rice is top-notch in freshness, ingredients and execution. That's one of the best versions of the rice dish that I've enjoyed in awhile. We opted for shrimp in the mix, and those were plump and juicy. Happily, everything I selected was a hit. Staff who worked the lunch hour and accommodated our outside table were gracious, helpful, also patient with my lacking and mangled attempt at Mandarin. Everyone at the table enjoyed the food, company and weather. All in all, I heartily recommend Mr. Bao kitchen for scrumptious Chinese cuisine.
