The food was good and the delivery was prompt. I liked the fried rice and General Tso's chicken.

I would not recommend the restaurant my husband and I got very sick by food poison. They are selling spoiled food.

After many disappointing meals ordering Chinese food around NE Columbia (looking at you, Red Bowl Bistro), I decided to check out China Wok in Elgin. I ordered Egg Drop Soup, Beef & Broccoli, and Orange Chicken (spicy). It's your typical Chinese takeout spot that has the same decor and menu as all of the others, but the food was ready in 15 minutes and was piping hot. The family running it was very friendly, and they had plenty of COVID precautions in place. They even gave me a free sweet tea for spending over $30, which was appreciated. The food was tasty, but my only complaint is that the Orange Chicken wasn't spicy in the least, but nothing a bottle of sriracha can't fix! Overall, even though it's a little bit out of the way I think this is my new Chinese takeout place. read more

Traveling the 8 hour trek home to my Mom's house I knew I wanted something close by. I already decided on Chinese- Soup and wings. China Wok was open, per Yelp, and along the way. I called my order in and the nice cashier made sure I knew where they were located-right by the IGA and Family Dollar. I walked in to find, I'm assuming the family, having their dinner. I spoke and everyone was very kind. Everyone spoke. I love that about South Carolina and good people in general! I used my last cash to pay for my food when the owner advised he had a special tonight. Someone else hadn't picked up their food and he was selling it for just $2. Two Sesame chicken dinner plates complete with fried rice and egg rolls! Of course I had to take him up on the offer. There are some Saturday workers at mom's house and it would make a great lunch. The owner happily agreed to swipe my card, usually a $5 min, for just $3 to cover the food. I knew this was to not be wasteful and I certainly appreciated his efforts in selling rather than tossing out good food. My spicy chicken wings and soup was as great as expected. The dry noodles were crispy and held up well in the soup unlike others that wilt as soon as it hits the liquid. I love the extra crunch. My mom said the food was so good. So good that I watched her eat it standing in the middle of her kitchen floor. The other diner, who took his to work, wanted to know where this place was located since he had sworn off Chinese a while ago. He enjoyed it and saved enough to bring home to snack on. The food was old, the eggrolls were not good they were stale. The shrimp fried rice had little shrimp in it and this is the first time that a restaurant that serve Chinese food rice was not good gummy. The pepper steak was mushy, I have never in my life eat steak of this texture, it was awful. Best Chinese in the area - quick preparation time, friendly and generous staff/owners, and the food is incredible!

We came here based on a recommendation and because it was one of the few places still open when we got into Columbia relatively late in the evening. I was generally pleased with the quality of the food here. The general tso's chicken was above average. The boneless spare ribs were probably the best thing I tried here. Definitely worth getting. The steamed dumplings were good enough. The fried rice was good. The egg rolls were decent as well. Everything was fresh and the prices were good. Nothing really negative to say about this place. I would recommend it if you are looking for decent Chinese in the area. read more

I got my food very quickly through GrubHub. The orange chicken was probably the worst I've ever had. There literally was one piece in the entire dish that had chicken in it, the rest was just deep fried crust with sauce. The rice which was supposed to be fried rice, was just plain yellow rice and was no hint of fried riceThe beef lo mein was OK but the beef had a really weird flavor. Great food. HOWEVER...it seems when you call for a takeout they add a "tip" to your final total. I have ordered takeout about 4 times in the past few months, wondering why my total always seems a bit high, today I went to pick up an order and she said 28.62, I handed her my debit card and asked for a receipt before she charged my card, she used a calculator and added each item, and the total was 24.73! I didn't say anything but you best believe I will ask for a receipt from now on! You better too! read more

From the outside the place looks like a run down shack sitting in a parking lot of rocks. But, on the inside there is a huge beautiful painting of fish on one side and the Great Wall Of China on the other. When you come in the staff greats you kindly and asks for you to choose a table and then they will take your order. The prices here are great considering the quantity of food and how good the food actually is. I usually get the general suo chicken in fried rice along with some spring rolls. One thing you notice is that the staff care about their customers and they even leave an aloe Vera plant for their costumers to use if they are hurt. The place is kept clean the food is delicious and the prices are responsible. I have been eating here sense I was about 5 and I still do to this day. read more
