Grande opening! Advertises New York style so I thought I'd try it out as I had many a Chinese restaurant meal as a kid growing up in Brooklyn. Figured. Ordered shrimp chow mien combination plate for 8:50 + tax. Which include egg roll, fried rice and the shrimp chow mean Called from Winn Dixie and by the time I drove down to Hickpoochie it was ready, really a Carry Out but does have a counter and a table and and chairs. I would've liked some mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, baby corn ... but this is North Fort Myers. Not likely popular items. China One's soup is pretty good. (Wish they'd upgrade their crispy noodles.) Our usual is hot & sour and egg drop wonton. I've learned to tell them to tone down the spice on the hot & sour. It's still adequately spicy, but not overly peppery. Service is perfunctory. Neither friendly nor impolite. They get the order right and it's ready quickly, which is what's important to me.
