I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to find Chinese food in this area that's as good as what I'm used to. With that said, I'm raising my assessment by a star. Maybe half a star. China One is by-and-large better than other take-outs we've tried. Upon tasting his orange chicken T said, "this is the best order yet." Perhaps so. I went with shrimp and Chinese vegetables. I'm not sure what the predominant vegetable is -- doesn't look like bok choy or Napa cabbage -- but it was good. Mild. Perhaps onions. I would've liked some mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, baby corn ... but this is North Fort Myers. Not likely popular items. China One's soup is pretty good. (Wish they'd upgrade their crispy noodles.) Our usual is hot & sour and egg drop wonton. I've learned to tell them to tone down the spice on the hot & sour. It's still adequately spicy, but not overly peppery. Service is perfunctory. Neither friendly nor impolite. They get the order right and it's ready quickly, which is what's important to me. read more

Ordered bourbon chicken combo got it home and the chicken and rice looked like soup full of liquid worse Chinese I've ever had..don't know if I'll ever eat Chinese again if I do it certainly won't be there. Use to be my go to restaurant I don't know what happened but I think there must have been turmoil in the kitchen...whatever they've lost a customer for sure. read more

Food is decent and tasty. Couple things lowered my score: the Pork Fried Rice tastes good but there was almost no pork in it. Just rice and a few pork specs. Sweet and Sour Chicken has a nice sauce and there was a lot of chicken; problem is that some of the chicken pieces had no chicken.. they were just blobs of batter. Have to say, it was better the time before this, so I'll try again and hope for the best. It's worth trying. read more

The food is outstanding. I eat at this place two days a week and have for the last two years. When I call to order she asks my phone number - and I order the exact same thing every time. They know who I am when I order, but even when I show up to get my order the lady acts like she has never seen me before. She cannot even be bothered to say "THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS!" Again, the food is great but the owners are RUDE and do not give a crap about you or your business. read more

Should call it China One and Done! Little hole in the wall takeout place in a dying strip mall (Weaver's Corner) they do have a couple of small tables if you want to try and eat in there but good luck its hot as hell! Tried it, was the definition of bland! Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was tasteless slop, like soup, not thick and Honey Chicken was all batter had zero taste! Seriously, the Chinese I get at the food court in the mall is 10 times better! Shame, wanted to like this place because the specials are relatively cheap, but I'd rather pay a little extra and get better Chinese food almost anywhere else! read more

I was referred by a pool buddy. Though they have tables it is primary take out. Being from San Francisco I know Chinese's food and this is a hybrid. I ask for Beef Chow Fung. They gave me beef with a chow mien type noodles. It was ok BUT not chow fung.( It is noodle like lasagna style)So their first strike. Second strike was the kang pao chicken. They used jalapeño peppers. (THEY DO NO HAVE THIS PEPPER IN CHINA.) They should have used a dried red pepper. Strike 3 ....was I ask and specified VERY HOT EXTRA HOT. The clerk though nice and spoke very good English failed. The one OUTSTANDING dish was the spring rolls. EXCELLENT light and great tasting. I recommend this for all Floridians.(since they DO NOT have sophisticated taste buds) For others if they are in a pinch for Chinese food.... then go for it. read more

Ordered takeout, asked for general Taos chicken and got orange chicken and no rice. The egg drop soup is really viscous...gross. The special fried shrimp barely had any shrimp in it. It was just a big blob of fried batter and no sauce. Crab Rangoon wasn't very good and there was very little filling. I was given one tiny cup of sauce for two orders. I work in the same plaza so I've eaten here quite a bit. Very clean. Owners are a pleasant young family. Food is always fresh and hot. Their crab rangoon is excellent. Everything I've ever eaten here is excellent. Lunch specials are $5.50. Their pint of Wonton isn't just one or two wontons. Always at least 4. I've eaten at many many Chinese take-outs in my 60 years. From New York and along the eastern coast, so I think I know when something is good. China One is very good. read more

This is a small restaurant nearby in the Winn Dixie strip mall. I have purchased a couple of different combo meals. Each time I was a little disappointed. The serving sizes were fine, but the taste just seemed lacking. General Tso Chicken & Schezuan Chicken were tried. Not bad, but definitely kind of "run of the mill", flavor wise. I haven't tried the Lunch Specials which are definitely a good deal. I will probably order again when I just don't feel like cooking :) read more
