I thought I would give them another chance. Big mistake!! My fried dumplings were nuked in the microwave. They were like rubber and the egg rolls didn't have anything in them. Lived in NYC/DC. This is the Chinese takeout in the area in my view. They're the only place with the good fried rice with the wok taste. Everyone else's is bland and more just yellow white rice. Yuck. I recommend doing an online order and wait 20 minutes and you're good to go read more

We were really loving this place until we made an order online for delivery and we received an entirely different thing, called to ask about it and they just kept telling me I didn't know what I ordered and I didn't know what I was talking about. One of the ladies who came to the phone was sort of laughing at me. However I order this noodle dish often so I know I received the wrong thing. It didn't even have noodles in it. It was just chicken and onions, flavorless chicken and onions at that. I don't think there was a pinch of seasoning on any of it and it was just swimming in grease. Luckily the delivery website gave me a refund but the customer service on the phone completely blew me away because I was extremely kind when I called. I actually did give them one more try after that and the food tasted very odd; the egg rolls were soggy and the noodles we ordered tasted like fish (when it was a beef noodle dish). We ended up not finishing and couldn't get a refund because we had picked it up and I really wasn't about to call and deal with that none sense again. I looked up the health score on this place and it's really not good. Not surprised at all that our last meal from here tasted so odd. Not sure why this place does not have higher ratings! My husband and I have been looking for a good Chinese Restaurant in SWFL for years, and we finally found it! Their Mongolian beef is sooooo good! My husband loves their egg foo young, friend rice, and egg rolls. My only complaint is their fried wontons are not flat. They're shaped like a crown. The sesame chicken was battered like a heavy fried chicken- dry and heavy. I think it should be light more like a tempura. The flavor was good but the texture was too tough. The egg rolls were thick and tasted like old grease. This was our second visit as I don't like leaving negative reviews based on one visit. Now it is confirmed- this place is just okay. Ordered orange chicken. It tasted old. Like it was pulled out of the cooler and not heated enough. It was still cold! The chicken had that dense tough dryness to it. You could just tell it wasn't fresh. I called to complain. They offered to replace it but my now I dont want to drive back out there. But in order to get any refund I have to bring the chicken back to the store anyway. I asked for store credit. She said she still needs the chicken back. Like are you crazy? Its nasty. Customers beware. After years of ordering takeout at Great Wall they have a new and very rude person working the register. She is very fresh and tried to keep my credit card. After I asked her for it she told me I was passive aggressive. Because I asked for my credit card back? That's just crazy. I listened to her while I stood in line telling person after person that she had lost $200.00 and didn't have any money. Was she looking to keep my card and use it? Guess I'll never know because I got my card back. Sadly after eating here for 5 years I will not be back. Watch your card because if she keeps it she will try to flip the tables on you and makes it your fault. The food is not worth dealing with this person or her attitude. Three and a half years ago when I moved here the food was great, but NOT anymore. Only Chinese food place around where I live, so every few months I try it again thinking that surely by now they've figured out the multiple problems and gone back to their old ways, perhaps with a better cook. Unfortunately it's time to call it quits for good! Four times in a row (over an almost 2 year period of time) the food is still terrible! The shredded beef and green beans: beans were undercooked even though they are supposed to be crispy, and the "beef" didn't have the taste or texture of meat at all. Spring rolls: Outside was crispy (obviously not freshly fried because they had pan burn marks on them) but the filling tasted of fishy-tasting mashed potatoes--Truly! Dumplings: The wrapper was right but the filling seemed to be gristle and something else the same color but unidentifiable. Sesame Chicken: "chicken" was definitely not fresh chicken, perhaps it was a composite of chicken parts, and the coating was tough and chewy. House Special Rice: Had scant seafood or any other protein, and surprisingly was rather tasteless. How on earth can they mess up the fried rice? I am sad and disappointed to have to write such a scathing review. I usually want to give a restaurant the benefit of doubt once, maybe twice, but this formerly good restaurant has fallen so far from what it used to be I can NOT in good conscience recommend or even bear to eat there again. Chinese food is traditionally not cheap, and for good reason, it is traditionally made of fresh, good quality ingredients. Great Wall at the Shoppes on Del Prado is not at this point what even Americans expect of Chinese food, but they continue to charge for it as if it is. Really disappointing! read more

Just moved here from Cape Coral. Gave this place three chances to serve good food. And they failed all three times. Nothing was fresh. The shrimp tasted nasty old. Best Chinese I've found in this area. Lived in south fort myers, port charlotte, and now Cape Coral.

Sweet & sour pork disgusting, ground pork fried in a batter, no flavor taste like dog food. Pepper steak had no flavor meet was tender but if you close your eyes did not know what you were eating. The only thing that was good were the eggrolls and wonton soup. Looks like will be ordering and Pine Island and Veterans before we get home. Their menu is very misleading states everything is cooked fresh, Maybe it's cooked but it's not fresh. read more

This was pretty good Chinese. I was nervous to try it because previous reviews were poor. HowevEr, hot and sour soup had lots of veggies and was very filling. I just wish the broth was a little more flavorful and thicker. Garlic string beans with beef was huge portions with lots of vegetables. String beans were cooked perfectly but sauce seemed more sweet and sour than garlic. The restaurant was very busy with lots of take out orders when I arrived but my order was perfect. read more

I would also say that it tasted almost like it came out of the can rather then from scratch. I think I prefer the takeout place next to the publics off of Kismet. Thete are many other possible entrees. The portions were typical and the price, only $5.75 plus tax each, was excellent. We had take out, but there are several tables for eat in. I accessed that site online that tells the different violations that restaurants have and sadly this place was closed down because of many roaches in the rice bin among other violations.
