    Dim sum
    Tammy M.

My brother took me to his favorite Asian restaurant the "Ginger Bistro" last night. We ordered Snow Beauty sake, dim sum and Mongolian beef. Everything tasted amazing. The dim sum was sooo good. The portions were plenty. I have enough leftover for lunch today. The restaurant was nicely appointed and service was exceptional. This is now my favorite Asian restaurant in Cape Coral.

I've been here before but the last time here I was not so satisfied with my orange Chicken. This time I had the Mongolian Beef and it was delicious !!! Excellent !! I like the decor and ambiance here ,it is a pleasant place to dine. Tonight with the place filled with Snowbirds it was a little loud. But the tasty food made up for the noise. I can't wait until my next visit here. Oh yes , the service was great ...

Saturday for lunch- we are tired of ordinary & we both agreed Dim Sum Ginger Bistro (Surfside) or Ginger Dim Sum (Port Charlotte) were our familiar choices. The cuisine here has always been good. Lots of choices in a pleasant atmosphere. Today I selected Mongolian beef (delicious) with jasmine rice while Judy selected (steamed) ribs, eggplant/shrimp and glutinous rice with chicken and vegetables (her favorite). The Mongolian beef was YUMM. SPICY and SWEET that I needed two glasses of water to quench. Great lingering after taste that is satisfaction. Makenna was our server and right there when we needed counsel or a straw. Good job. Ginger Bistro is pleasant dining in all ways. I few negatives- no WiFi, the rice serving was extra and small. But I came for food quality and the experience.

Love this place. Food is fresh, Servers are nice. We arrrived & we're seated in a booth near the bar area. I ordered a pot of tea as it's been cold out lately. I had the dim sum sampler appetizer & it was good, My friend had orange chicken and it was yummy. Had a glass of red sangria and it was also delicious. Eaten here twice and will be back again to try more dishes.

Mom likes her udon noodles and so we traveled here for that. Ginger Bistro is definitely on the fancier end of things and we had a very pleasant early dinner. A chicken stir fry with udon for mom and she ate the whole thing, declaring it delicious. It did look good to me! For my dinner, I chose the two meat combo platter, enjoying a quarter of duck and the barbecue pork. It was very good duck considering we're in Florida and not China. Bony and greasier than I'd like and definitely not enough meat here, but still tasty. Excellent service and a delightful meal. [Review 402 of 2025 - 2048 in Florida - 23964 overall]

    gift cards from Costco

On my visit 2 weeks ago, food was good but I had some concerns about how they handled my giftcard. I gave the waitress a couple gift cards when we got the bill. She came back and said one of the gift cards did not have anything on it. After we paid, my husband asked the waitress for the gift card in question. She got the gift card from the shelf and handed it back to my husband. The following day I stopped at the Fort Myers location to check the balance of the gift card and I was told that there is $25 on it. I truely think that the waitress should have checked with her manager if she did not know how to check the gift card balance or at least return the gift card that she claimed it has nothing on it instead of holding onto it. It appears the waitress was lacked of training. I hope this is an one time error and they will provide proper training to their staff. Food 4 stars Service 1 star Overall 2.5

West lake beef soup, udon with beef, potsticker

I didn't expect to find a good, authentic Chinese restaurant in this part of Florida, and I was impressed. I ordered takeout and was very pleased. Quick service. The pork pot sticker was good to start. Then I had my favorite West Lake beef soup. I judged the Chinese restaurant based on this authentic soup, and theirs was incredible!! The udon with beef was flavored well and delicious. I can't wait to try the dim sum soon. 5 stars for this!

The service was excellent that night! We had a young lady with dark hair wait on us, I wish I remembered her name because she was so sweet! She was patient, smiled a lot and explained the dishes well. Food is a little bit on the pricey side but we enjoyed our meals and had leftovers. The dishes are served in large portions for family style. The eggplant dish was very flavorful and I am usually not a fan of eggplant!

Before moving to Cape Coral, I was concerned that I would not find a good Chinese restaurant, until I came cross Ginger Bistro. I am very happy now, the food here is very authentic Cantonese food. Dim Sum is 100% authentic, and come out burning hot! the stuffed eggplant is probably the best I have ever had. We also love their home made hot sauce. Service is generally good. The place is nice and calm. What more can you ask for? Next time you want some really good and authentic Chinese food, especially dim sum, give Ginger Bistro a try!

DINE OUT - TAKE OUT but do NOT dine in until they get management here. I am so disappointed! I refer this restaurant to hundreds of people here on vacation but I always do @take out"....Tonight we dined in...the service was terrible. There were 3-5 young girls serving tables and they all look lost to terrified. They were literally congregating in this room outside of the kitchen door. There is more than one table, waiting to just get a drink order in. Others that had food were standing up and going to the hostess to get additional things ordered. There was a table of nine and they were so upset. They had one person serving them who literally took one order at a time and we'll go get their drink and then come back and get another drink order. I've never seen anything like it. We waited 20min for someone to give us water until my husband finally went to the hostess since I can be a service here. And there was a guy behind him asking for the same thing. There were literally 5 tables to serve and 2 untouched. The hostage was inundated. She was good running around, trying to help plus answering the phones and doing takeout orders. I think she could maybe dress a little better. She looks like she just came from the beach. But her service was great. I'm just so disappointed because I referred this place so many people and now I feel like I have failed them. I'm definitely not going to be referring this place until they shape up. I hope management sees this and makes a big change. Higher experienced to people and pay them well

Ambience doesn't factor in to my assessment of Chinese restaurants. My favorite haunts in NY's Chinatown are hole-in-the-walls. Same with Buford Highway in Atlanta. With that said, Ginger Bistro is nicely appointed. Uh oh. Will that override the authenticity of the restaurant?! You be the judge. Ginger Bistro ranks high amongst the Chinese restaurants we've found in SWFL. But it's not without fault. Entrees could be bigger. And really -- how much does a twenty pound bag of rice cost? Surely a simple bowl of steamed rice can be provided gratis, as it is elsewhere. Charging $1.25 for an ice cream-sized scoop, is chintzy. Here's what we ordered: -- Thai coconut chicken soup. It's delicious! Though I didn't see lemon grass, the flavor peeks through. One bowl is enough to feed three adults. -- Cashew shrimp. Garlic oyster sauce packs punch. Neither vegetables nor shrimp are overcooked. Good job! -- Roast pork with mixed vegetables. Normally served with brown sauce, I asked for white, which worked well. I wasn't thrilled with the pork. Served in chunks and overly fatty, this is a one time deal for me. Vegetables however, were fresh and crisp. I was impressed with the diversity of the menu including items not typical of suburban restaurants. We noticed that a good number of patrons are Asian -- a good sign, in a Chinese restaurant. Service, by the way, was fine. The woman taking our order and checking in, was friendly and helpful. In contrast, the person who brought our food to the table was scowling and abrupt. Eh - I wasn't there to make friends. The food was good, it was served hot, and that's what mattered.

I haven't been to ginger bistro in so long, I always want to come on a Tuesday but they're closed Tuesdays. I finally made it to them on a weekend and I was so excited! It was pretty busy that's night but we didn't have to wait! I went with my two friends and we all ordered appetizers. Me and one friend got gyoza and another calamari. The gyoza come out super fast and we both enjoyed our apps! However the only bad thing about this experience was that my other friends calamari didn't come out until right before the food. The entree came out soon the last app came and we were all very satisfied with the meals! Our server was nice and was attentive when needed to be. I deff want to come for lunch and try some of the dim sums! I've missed this place, it's so good!

Our party of 3 was seated at a comfortable booth and our request for oolong tea and iced water was quickly filled. The menu is extensive but we had no problem choosing. My mother relished her bowl of shrimp wonton soup. The wontons were so large that she cut them into bite-sized portions on a small plate! She also ordered the vegetable fried rice which was impressive, filled with very fresh pieces of broccoli and other veggies. My sister had the bowl of seafood tom yum soup and loved it. With medium spice, it was perfect for her taste. The bowl is huge so expect to take half of it home! One of our neighbors used to live in the area and recommended anything in Tin City for lunch. Besides, having eaten at Dockside in Venice the day prior, we were looking for something other than seafood. The restaurant has a large menu featuring different ramen (dry or w/ soup) and rice dishes, as well as appetizers. I tried their steamed vegetable dumplings and the pork ribs dry ramen. Both dishes were fantsastic. It was the first time that I had dumplings filled with endamame+minced garlic. It was savory and slightly sweet. The meat in the ramen was fork-tender and full of umami; the ramen was chewy; and it was served with a wide variety of fresh vegetables (zucchin, broccoli, carrot, onions, green onions, corn, microgreens, pickled ginger). The ramen was ~5oz. PS: the noodles are salty -- ramens are meant to be salty. Service was awesome. Several things that my server impressed me: 1. He asked me about my food allergies -- important for seafood-dense restaurants like a Japanese restaurant. 2. I asked for some extra ramen when I just got the entree. He suggested to bring me the extra when I almost finish the ramen in my entree. Surprisingly, he brought a small bowl of ramen exactly when I was about to finish it -- very precise and customer-oriented. 3. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time. 4. When he was taking the order of another table, he gave recommendations to the customers based on their dietary preferences, instead of blindly mentioning the "signature dishes" like most servers do. Moreover, when the customers ordered food, he squat down to listen what they said carefully. So, yes, I speak highly of this restaurant. Definitely recommend it. And I will dine in it again next time I visit Naples.
