We've patronized China Taste for over 25 years, mainly because they offer crispy roasted duck, but it's no longer our local "preferred" Chinese food carry out. The other menu items (fried rices, lo mein, wontons, egg rolls) have become bland tasting over the recent years. read more

Our new favorite Chinese restaurant in the Upper Marlboro area! We've only ever gotten take out from this location, though they do have a dining area. The interior looks a little dated and I've only ever seen employees eating inside. We love their shrimp lo mein and General tso's. They are large portion sizes that are extremely flavorful for a great price. We've always received great customer service when it comes to calling and placing our order, as well as going in to pick it up. read more

I was in the area and not in a mood to cook dinner that night -- saw this small carryout and wandered in to give it a shot. The place is a bit dim and not very pleasing to the eye. There were a number of set tables but no one was inside eating. For a solid 15 minutes, I was the only one in the restaurant aside from workers...odd. I approached the counter and was greeted very warmly. Multiple staff members said hello as they went in and out of the kitchen. Also enjoy a friendly staff. I ordered a classic 4 wings and fries...I was in the mood for something greasy. I drove 10 minutes home and popped open the dish, steam and delicious scents exploded out of the carton. The fries and wings were hot and crispy (even after sitting in that steam filled tin. These wings are better than whats sold at my other local carryout spot. Horrible customer service! This place took told us that it would take 1 hr to deliver food on a Sunday. That's was OK, but we received a partial order. We did receive duck sauce. When I told them that something was missing, they argued that the person at the restaurant packed it and it was complete. It may have been when they packed it, but it was missing the sauce when we received it. They insinuated that I was mistaken or lying about what was in my bag. This is poor customer service. When I insisted on having the missing item delivered, they said, "the rest of your food will be cold. Why not used something else?". I, for one don't have Chinese sauces lying around. They finally agreed to deliver it, but said it would be another 40 minutes. After an hour it never arrived. I called again and they said I'll have to wait! The food is average, but convenient. I've eaten here many times out of desperation--they are the nearest Chinese restaurant in my area. Customer Service: It is okay. They are polite and quick to take your order. If you encounter any issues, this okay service goes way south--very bad. Several times I've ordered a dish and asked for no red pepper flakes. Every time I saw red pepper flakes, I'd bring it to their attention, but they would become defensive. One time, I took a picture of the flakes and showed it to them. You would think that they would apologize. However, they kept repeating that they didn't put the flakes in the noodles. No apology was made nor any attempt to win me as a repeating customer. Delivery: Terrible. It can be up to 30-45 minutes for on-time delivery. Often, it is over an hour and when you call about the long wait, they are not apologetic. In fact, one person told me that I should be more understanding since they are usually okay on their delivery times. I asked how could I be compensated for waiting more than two hours? She replied, "I cannot do anything. You have to ask the owner and he is not here." Food: Ah, just the part of the review you want to hear about. Run! Yes, I said it. Run as fast as you can the other way. For the life of me, I cannot understand how a Chinese place cannot cook rice and wonton soup. I have had chicken and broccoli, fried rice, Singapore noodles, chicken mei fun, fried chicken wings, french fries, chicken with mix vegetables, spring rolls, crab cheese wontons, general tso, chicken chow mein, etc. Suffice it to say that I have tried many dishes here hoping that they would prove me wrong. I cannot describe the taste because the food lacks seasoning--but whatever is on it is down right nasty. The food is not fresh and often the meat is hard (where you cannot chew it). Whoever is in the kitchen simply cannot cook Chinese food. My attempts to eat here have been over a span of three years. My last try with them was in 2018 when I had to throw away four meals. I liked it! I spent twenty bucks and got a cheeseburger and some other American food...from a Chinese restaurant lol. I wasn't really hungry for Chinese, but I wanted to taste their twist on American. And it was good! I feel as though I got a lot of food for the money. Couldn't help but notice this little Chinese take-out/buffet right there, so why not give it a shot? This place is cute. Small and kinda cozy. Service was very nice; I was greeted at the door and helped immediately. Got my food really fast too. It's nice and steaming hot. Problem is... Okay, this baffles me... How can you make such... bland and tasteless food? (Seriously guys, I'm eating right now and I don't understand how I feel the food, but taste little to nothing) Even the fried rice is tasteless. I ordered delivery from China Taste last night on 9/12/2015 and the food was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!! While placing my ordered I asked the young lady if they had a new chef and she stated "No, My Uncle has been working here for years," Well its time for her uncle to be replaced. My food had Absolutely No FLAVOR, or TASTE! EVERYTHING was EXTERMELY BLAND. I am planning to ask for a full refund. I am a dine-in customer. Stopped by for quick lunches. I have no clue about the food quality ON THE BUFFET STAND or IN TAKE-OUT ORDERS. I simply sat down, ordered, and received my fresh cooked meal. So according to my experience, I find the food was actually decent, as well as the service, too. Now that people need to think about that if a restaurant is serving buffet but NOT BUFFET-ONLY, The customers will be under a high risk of sharing the buffet food. When it is cooked in a large portion, Chinese food tends to taste less better. Horrible delivery man. I gave the store the right address, and waited forever for the food. Finally, the delivery man called my phone and told me wasn't able to find my place and told me to come it outside. When I went outside, the man was complaining that he rang my doorbell many times but no one responded. Clearly he got the wrong house because I was there and no one was outside my house. Then I got a call from the restaurant and said they heard from the delivery man and said to me I should've been clear about the address. Excuse me? I gave YOU the right address but instead, I got a nasty attitude from him. Then they said no that's not possible and that he's been working for them for more than 10 years now and it never happened. Seriously? Then the delivery man finally found my house and apologized that he found the wrong house when I showed him my house address. When i was given a total it was significantly more than (what we had figured and collected) including tax and tip. We told them we got the prices from their website and were told that the menu on the website is 2 years old and that it takes a couple of weeks to change it! 2 years or 2 month?????
