I went to pick up my order, and it was my first time at this place. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was a bad smell. There were boxes everywhere, and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was horrible. It was dirty. I saw a woman handling frozen egg rolls with her bare hands, stacking them on top of each other without any gloves. The place just felt unclean. A very horrible experience. I ordered shrimp lo mein but plain meaning nothing else in it just shrimp and lo mein. They delivered and all I got was lo mein with no shrimp. I called them and they said it s our fault and had the nerve to charge me again for shrimp lo mein. read more

FINDING THIS PLACE: I would have never found out about this place if it wasn't for a local business owner who recommended it. I was craving some Chinese food and when I made mention of it while dining elsewhere. I was approached by the owner of the other restaurant and he ask me a few questions about things I enjoyed and he pointed out the things he liked. When I tried the food I will say that it had be returning again and again. This is the closest thing I have had to New York style Chinese food. I have tried a lot of places here locally and I have been greatly disappointed APPEARANCE: I have to agree with another reviewer when they pointed out that the boxes in this restaurant do detract from the overall feel of the place. This is not an excuse but, the flavor of the food is such that I find it simple to overlook this blemish. Although I have never actually seen anyone cleaning the dining area, it has always been free residual left behind by other patrons. Tables and floors have never been found to be sticky or trash-filled. This goes a long way with me. MY ORDER: I usually get the Bourbon Chicken and the Teriyaki Chicken, in case my readers wondered what I felt was so delightful. PRICES: I feel that the prices here are competitive... no worse or better than you would find elsewhere. PARKING: China Taste shares the parking lot with several businesses, including Publix, so there is never a parking issue. STAFF: I have always ben treated in a professional manner and the service from the employees has always been nothing less than prompt. THAT is very appreciated. CONVENIENCE: I do like that I can place an order and go over and shop at Pubilx, then return and pick it up my meal before heading home. The food is awesome! Tastes great, everything is delicious but the delivery took a while. Worth it! The man on the phone that took my order was very easy to understand, seemed happy to have my business. At first I thought they gave me a wrong order, I asked for honey chicken and when I opened it up - I realized they put the sauce on the side which is awesome because the chicken stayed crispy! My husband and I ordered delivery. We got fast service, and the food was hot when we received it. I ordered the Chef's special: Beef and Scallops. It was quite good. See picture attached. My husband ordered Szechuan Chicken, which is SUPPOSED to be spicy. He also ordered the Hot and Sour Soup - another 'spicy' dish. Neither had ANY heat to them, and he described them as quite bland. We also ordered Shrimp Toast, which was good, but not the best I've eve had; and got Shrimp Rangoon free with our order, which was much better than most places we've had it. So, 2 main dishes, 1 good and one not; 3 sides, 2 good and 1 not. 2 1/2 stars isn't an option, so I gave 3. How disappointing. read more

This place has been here for years. Extremely crowded on weekend evenings. Good food, extensive menu. I order the vegetable lo mein and they put only the veggies I want in it. The sweet and sour chicken is all white meat chicken and very good. Primarily a take out, but they have a few tables if you choose to eat in. As the name would imply this is a great place to get a taste of American-Chinese food. The people are friendly (seems to be family owned) and the service is fairly quick. If you have a large order you can shop at the Publix next-door while you wait. My personal favorite are the eggrolls, the spicy mustard is a must with these. The chicken can tend to be on the chewy side, but I find that to be fairly consistent with all Chinese takeouts. Finally, who can forget the fortune cookies? Ordered the Happy Family but when it arrived I was definitely not happy!! I ordered the sauce on the side and found that the pork and beef were gray in color and smelled horrible. The baby corn was also gray. There was no scallops to be found. I was starving so I ate some of the shrimp and broccoli with a little rice. Practically no flavor. I think they use the sauce to cover up the discolored bad smelling meat. Mostly everything went into the trash. I most definitely won't be ever eating from here again. I also had called the restaurant but they refused to credit me...wanted to replace the meal if I brought it back to them. We ordered from China Taste for the first time last night after we read some reviews on Yelp. This was the best Chinese food I have ever eaten from delivery. The food was still hot and the egg rolls were tasty and crisp. I'm on a low sodium diet and was happy to know that it was worth the cheat and that it wasn't over salty. I had tofu and pork and was expecting a few peas. I was overjoyed to find a nice mixture of Chinese vegetables including snow peas and baby corn in a delicious spicy sauce. I also had Singapore rice noodles which weren't greasy but could have used a bit more curry powder and I missed the usual tiny shrimp. It was still delicious. And I had enough for three meals leftover but ate so much that I only had barely one meal leftover. The hot and sour soup was the best I have ever eaten teeming with all the usuals as well as tiger lily buds. My husband had pan frIed dumplings and was reluctant to share a few...the meat was abundant and the dipping sauce so delicious we were tempted to drink the remaineder left which we still saved. His General Tso chicKen combination dinner was crisp in a delicious sauce with wonderful frIed rice and an egg roll. He normally eats half but had gorged down the full ample portions. We were expecting old prefabricated egg rolls and ate delicious home made ones with a lot of filling. I was a chef for 26 years and am very critical instead I was utterly satiated. We were surprised to find wonderful crab Rangoon for free. Kudos!!!!!! Great job and the bill was $10 cheaper than New CHina #2 and extremely better like they would cook for themselves. We moved to this area last year and have tried a couple different Chinese restaurants, this place by far has been the best. I had the sweet n sour chicken & my hubby had general tso chicken & egg rolls, We both enjoyed the food and the servings were more than enough. The best egg rolls and spring rolls I've ever had in Pasco County. Also the best fried rice, none of that off yellow type rice; this was real fried rice. Large portions of some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. The house special fried rice is loaded with large pieces of meat and shrimp and could be a meal in itself. Ok I've given this place two chances. The chicken and sauce is decent and that's the only thing getting it two stars. It's disorganized, dirty (piles of boxes all over and vents above the grill) and just really scabby looking. The girl who took my order didn't know any English at all and I had to point to the menu for what I wanted (she still didn't get it right) the rice is overmoist and almost saturated. But the chicken was very low quality and the crab ragoons I can't believe they sell these. Needless to say we won't be back. We used to order from here all the time. However the older lady that owns the place is a horrible person. I will NEVER order from there again. We ordered at my school to have them deliver one night. There were 5 of us total. Each one paid with a credit card. When they delivered the order one of the girls didnt realize how much the meal was and could only do .97 cents as a tip, so one of the other people that ordered added in an extra 2 dollars on her tip. Total between the 5 people the lady got $10.97 in tips. The lady was upset that the one girl only did .97 as a tip. She complained to the receptionist and then when she went out to her car she sent her husband in to inform the receptionist that they will never deliver to the school again because of the poor tip. My family used to order from this place once a week. We have since found another place and will never order from here again. read more
