I ordered thru Grubhub so I didn't look at the reviews here. So glad I didn't. I'm new to the area so I'm always in search of good Chinese food. I ordered egg rolls, beef lo mein, plain lo mein for my picky eater and honey chicken. I meant to order combination fried rice but forgot to add it to the order. I'll get it next time. I thought everything was delicious. Especially the honey chicken. While I can't speak for the service I thought the food was great. read more

Consistently delivering on terrible energy, tasteless food, watery egg drop soup, drab atmosphere that you can feel how low the energy of the people working on this place is. Impressively terrible business! Drive 4-5 mins away from this china star place for your own good. Go around the block to Chuan Fu at the corner of 17-92 and Lee Road on the Ale House shopping plaza. Its a Michellin Star Chinese restaurant. Stay away from this place if you don't want to be the next one very driven to write a review here... read more

Taste good to me! I tried the General Tso 's chicken which was a thick, flavorful and plentiful. I also ordered an egg roll that was flaky and filled with meat. I ordered this on Uber eats so I did not get to see the service or ambiance. This place gets 5 stars because it was quick and they gave me soy sauce, hot mustards and duck sauce without asking !!!!! read more

I usually enjoy ordering Chinese takeout, but this experience was a letdown from start to finish. The sesame chicken was subpar--overcooked, dry, and lacking that classic sweet, tangy flavor. It tasted like it had been sitting for a while rather than freshly made. To make things worse, the woman who took my phone order was incredibly rude. She sounded impatient from the moment I called, cut me off while I was speaking, and made me feel like I was bothering her just by placing an order. By the time I hung up, I was already regretting calling at all. Between the poor service and the disappointing food, I won't be ordering from here again. There are plenty of other spots that treat customers better and actually serve good sesame chicken read more

Simple little strip mall Chinese food restaurant- clearly designed to be more of a carry-out. I used to order from there regularly, years ago. Food was always consistently decent. Popped in a few days ago and ordered an egg drop soup to go. Lady at the counter went out of her way to be rude to me. I have absolutely no idea why. After I ordered it, she just took my money and walked off. She didn't say a word. So I asked very politely if I should run next door to Publix quickly, because I had to grab something, and I'd come back in a few mins to get my soup? She literally yelled at me "it's ready !!!" Then another employee from the back handed me the soup, also without saying anything. Awful service. Can't recommend. read more

This place is soooo underrated. Yes, their service is not the best but the food is legit good.

This run-down Asian strip mall place has low prices & even lower quality. Ordered shrimp fried rice, rice was bland, starchy. No flavor. Shrimp was over cooked, mushy. Also sampled Gen Tso chicken, grease-not worth the $. China Star sign is worn, broken. Restaurant was grim, not friendly. Portions were decent but metro Orlando FL has better spots for Asian fare. read more

General Tso chicken is all batter. I cut into each piece to find shreds of white stuff surrounded by soft batter in sugar and corn starch. No thanks read more

I was looking for some good chinese food & I was disappointed. The sesame chicken was almost robbery and not fresh at all. I would bite into so much breading and find a little piece of plastic chicken. The lady who answered the phone was so rude. I would ask a question and she would just talk over me. I just picked up the food as most people do & it looked clean at least. I won't be returning & i'm still on the hunt for good chinese food. read more

Went to order meal that we usually get. Asian female at the window was very rude . We asked for no msg Abd she shook her head as if she was saying whatever! She threw the credit card in the box where we had to pick it up. The Asian community is needing everyone to respect them, but it's people like her who give the community a bad name. I will never send anyone here. I wish I could have videoed it. read more

It's been quite a while since my last review but I am back. COVID has changed everyone's lives all over the world. Since then, I have moved to Central Florida and plan to go back to Yelping once again. Today at work, I was in the mood for Chinese. I have ate in certain locations but wanted to try something new. Thus, China Star located at Winter Park, Florida. They have a vast menu of plenty of selections and chose Roast Park Fried Rice, Chicken Wings and Egg Rolls. So, here we go: 1. Chicken Wings: The Chicken Wings were great. And for the first time ever, I had chicken wings that were normal size instead of those gigantic ones that seem to be jacked up in steroids. The breading of the wings were fantastic and not greasy at all. Easily the best chicken wings I have tasted so far in this region. 2. Roast Pork Fried Rice: I normally am a Chicken Fried Rice guy all day, however, they did not have that. I am a fan of their rice but it was a little on the greasy end. 3. Egg Rolls: This was the weakest part of my lunch. It was too mushy inside and semi crunchy on the outside. I love to hear the crunch of my egg rolls and like more texture inside. Overall, I will give them 3.5 to 4 stars. I'll push it 4 stars as the pricing was excellent and less than $15. read more

Beware of the scary lady! I have been going to this restaurant since it opened a few years ago. The food is ok, prices are good, but the service is among the worst I have ever received. The woman at the cashier is constantly rude, has shortchanged me several time and cursed at me in Chinese for some offense I'm not sure of. Watch out, count your change and to make matters worse no one in the kitchen staff was wearing a mask. I have put up with the bad service because the restaurant is close and sometimes I need a quick meal, but no more. read more

Usually get chicken lo mein and wonton soup. Sometimes bourbon chicken. Always delish and fast service!

The food is always really really good. That said Sunday isn't the day for expecting your order to ever be on time. Add to that the attitude the help has towards us customers. They act like we're 3 class and they are upper class. I ask how long 3 or 4 times and the reply is to ask for my credit card. I'll learn not to go there on a Weekend at all. If you like being treated like sh*t go a weekend at dinnertime. Again the food is super good. The help isn't that way. read more

I have know idea how their food is. But the woman who takes your was so rude and abrupt no reason to ever get food here

I love their pepper steak. Order it on Uber all the time. Very flavorful and good size portion.

AVOID THIS CHINESE RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS. These people are so rude, extremely slow WITH NO RESPECT for their customers. The guy who runs the from is the worst, the younger kid. This person has no manners, and I guess it goes along with the way he keeps up with himself. The food is absolutely horrible, no taste, just drenched in oil. They attempt to give some of the food taste by adding breading which makes everything absolutely worse! I can't wait for the day this place has new owners or new management because these owners have to get out of this location!! Horrible food in such a dense are should be shut down. On top of that, the physical store is absolutely disgusting. Dirty with roaches everywhere! Don't think the back is any better where your food is cooked. There is plenty of other great options in Orlando for chinese food. Just drive south down orlando ave and they have an abundance of great Authentic asian food! read more

The food is excellent. Unfortunately, I am giving the restaurant 1 star because they would not let my husband use the restroom.

For take out Chinese food, pretty good. I've had their food before. I was at a girlfriends house and we had our order delivered. Delivery took 45 minutes, but it was during peak dinner time, I can't imagine they have a fleet of drivers just waiting to bring me MY vegetable chow mei fun! So take delivery time into account if you're getting delivery. Otherwise, stroll in, order up, bring it on home. read more

Never tip before hand. I've gone to this location durning my break in the past. But tonight I decided to get Chinese food. The lady at the front desk has absolutely no business working with customers. Not only did she mess up my order, she blamed me (the customer) for her mistake and stated I gave her the wrong number associated with my order. Which is very strange because I have a Jacksonville area code.......not orlando... Luckily for her, I lived 13 mins away. Walked in no apology, she just gave me my food with an attitude look on her face. I remained positive and thanks the employees. However, she walked away yelling absentees in cantonese. HORRRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I come from an immigrant family, so I try to be patient. But that woman is just a straight b*tch. read more

We ordered orange chicken. It was tough and stale. I think they pre-cooked it in big batches and re-heat it and add sauces when order comes in. As a result, the breading on chicken is dry and chicken is tough. At $10.75, the dinner combo is cheap so you get what you paid for. read more

Rude phone service? Check. Wrong order? Check. Wasn't ready on time? Check. Okay okay okay, I shouldn't have been ordering take out Chinese anyways but my experience with this place was pretty bad all around, I wont be going back. My order was admittedly basic, general tso's, white rice and crab rangoons. I asked for the general tso to be extra spicy, didn't happen but it did come out with significant more water than I've ever seen on this dish. The portion was massive. The crab rangoons came with out the crab, I guess cream cheese rangoons isn't bad though. Rice was was rice. I called, the lady who answered the phone sounded like I was bothering her. I showed up and she didn't great me at all, handed me my check without saying a word following with the bag 10 mins later. I felt bad eating junk food on friday but this experience made it worse. read more

Just really bad, not just because of the food but because they can not communicate with their customers. I witnessed twice again today when I went today (for my last time)....arguing with the person on the phone while I waited at the counter for about 10 minutes before he would even look up and acknowledge me and then with a person behind me who simply wanted chicken with garlic sauce w/o vegetables (just broccoli). They did it wrong and it too the guy 10 minutes to explain what he wanted...they went to the back and it sounds like they picked out the chicken into a new disk. An argument ensued and I decided to leave before it got really nasty. The food quality is what you expect for the price....there are better options. Additional note, the place seemed to be really dirty today....sand all over the floors, non of the tables cleaned.... read more

This is our first time going to this restaurant. My partner went online to place an order so when he gets there it was a simple pay and go type of transaction in which this includes receiving an email confirmation. As it turns out, he got yelled at by the lady who was working there 20JAN2022 @ around 6:00P. She was yelling and getting frustrated with him because he should not have made an order online. A couple of things; How do we as a customer know that your online ordering system is faulty? How do we know as a customer you don't prefer online orders? How do we know as a customer how your business works? IF YOU DO NOT DO ONLINE ORDERS THEN TAKE IT DOWN!!!! When that happens no one will be able to do online orders! The options will be to call ahead or walk in. For argument sake, say your system didn't process that online order DO NOT YELL at my partner telling him what he should have done! I'm sure everyone who works in Customer Service will say along the lines of, "We must apologize for the inconvenience that this cause as our online system can be faulty at times. I will gladly expedite your order it'll be done as soon as possible. We are sorry!" Or "what we can do is........." then my partner would respond, "oh that's a bummer if you can please expedite my order" then LIFE GOES ON and that's just business.... STOP YELLING AT YOUR CUSTOMERS especially if it is not our fault. Sad to say we just move to the area and enjoy Chinese takeout quite often. Your food is subpar compare to other Chinese restaurants that we have tried. So don't come at my partner with that attitude especially when your food is not special at all. Once again, take your ordering system down if you can't deal with it and STOP yelling at your customers for it. read more

My new favorite Chinese joint when I need my chinese food fix. One of the few places where I can get non-spicy mei fun. Very clean and typical chinese take out with some added treasures. As I mentioned the Chow mei fun was excellent. Also the Egg foo yung was tasty too. The place is in the publix strip mall in winter park. Easy to park and also very clean there. They give food to go in nice quality take out containers, no spillage here. Do not hesitate to get some chinese take out here!! read more

Terrible food, terrible service, terrible people!! Rude too when you tell them food is no good!! A -10 I give them!!

This is a chinese takeout restaurant next to the newer Publix on orlando ave near fairbanks. I went on a whim craving for sesame chicken for lunch and found this place. It was pretty busy inside with a few tables, but I ordered takeout. After I made my order, my food came out in less than 2 minutes! Extremely quick service and the prices are very inexpensive! And for the amount of food you get, its a steal!! There are also specials where you can get an egg roll and soup, but I just got the meal and it was deeee-lish! Definitely satisfied my craving. So if you're in the area and craving for chinese takeout, this is the place to go! read more

My favorite Chinese delivery place around!! I've never actually been inside this place, so this is just about their delicious food, good prices and quick delivery. I rarely order Chinese delivery...too often these places are super unhealthy and overall just "meh." I mean, I'm sure this place isn't the healthiest, or even close to it, but they make delicious food. I've ordered from them 4 or 5 times now and gotten a pretty wide variety of food. I'm generally a chicken kind of gal when it comes to Chinese, and all of the chicken dishes I've had were delicious. They're pretty fast with the delivery, which is excellent. Their prices are super reasonable. Overall, this place is great. read more

This is our GO TO place for Chinese takeout in our part of Winter Park. I have never set foot into this restaurant because my husband is the designated pick up guy! Lol Based on the food, I'm really pleased! It usually only takes about 10 min (from when I place my order by phone) for our order to be ready. My favorites are the mixed won ton/egg drop soup, the shrimp lo mein and the egg rolls. My husband always orders one of the combination meals which is a good value as it comes with a cooked meat of your choice, pork fried rice and egg roll. Food portions are huge and very affordable so it makes for several meals. It's nothing fancy but the best food comes from hole in the wall restaurants! read more

TL;DR: Typical Chinese takeout on the higher side of quality with generous portions and friendly staff. We were in the middle of moving and decided to go for some take out New York style Chinese. We had passed this place several times during the move and joked about it being our late night drunk food place. We were surprised to discover that, while typical fare for takeout, it wasn't so greasy as to destroy our stomachs like some other places. I had the General Tso's chicken and was pleased to have enough leftover for a good lunch the next day. They also deliver to the local area, so a definite plus. We will likely be back the next time the mood strikes us for takeout. read more

My go to Chinese takeout in Orlando/Winter Park. I always get my take out from this shop located next between Publix and the AAA office. Family owned, consistent food quality, and fast service. Call ahead or order and wait. Food usually takes 10-20 minutes--not bad! They pack to-go orders in the nicer plastic containers that work great for storing the leftovers in your fridge for the next day. I always get the same things. Fried Dumplings, Crab Rangoon, and Sesame Chicken or General Tso's. All of that for about $20 or so with plenty left over. read more
