It's my favorite chinese place in Butler! A great atmosphere, food, and service. People are served tea and water when they arrive and crunchy chips with soy sauce. My favorite is General Tsao's Chicken. It does not have a buffet which I am glad about because buffets have a substantially lower quality food that just sits out. This food was horrible!!! The General Tso chicken was slimy and the sauce was sweet not spicy, the cashew chicken was inedible the chicken wasn't fried the vegetables were very hard almost raw and the sauce was nauseating. The wonton strips were stale and the wonton soup was over cooked and had absolutely no meat just broken noodles. When I called to complain no one in the location spoke English and did not understand why I was mad. $30 wasted and all I had for dinner tonight was milk! We ordered delivery the other night from China Palace and this review is based on that. First, the good: fast delivery, good prices. Also they included crispy fried wonton strips and fortune cookies. We ordered general tso chicken, sesame chicken, vegetable mushu, egg drop soup, and steamed dumplings. There was nothing about the food that was terrible, but everything tasted like it had been made ahead of time and not to order. Both chicken dishes were soggy and not crispy at all. The general tso chicken had no spiciness and was negligible in taste from the sesame chicken. The bamboo shoots in the mushu had an extremely intense smell and flavor that was not pleasant. Almost like a bathroom smell?? I've had bamboo shoots like this before and I think it has to do with quality. The mushu wrappers were on the dried out side and cracked when I filled one. The egg drop soup had no seasoning whatsoever and was bland. My 3 year old daughter ate it, but I didn't like it. The steamed dumplings were ok. I'm not sure what kind of sauces they use in the actual restaurant, but the packets they send with take out/delivery are crappy quality. The soy sauce isn't even real soy sauce, but made with corn syrup and caramel coloring. Im not sure if there's any other great options around here, but we were disappointed with what we had from China Palace. The food was just mediocre, bland, and not fresh tasting. read more

Popped in for lunch and got the General Tso chicken. Came with tea and fried noodles, as well as fried rice. $5 and I was full. Service was friendly and attentive. Flavours could have been stronger, but I enjoy stronger and hotter things than most folk in PA. My one complaint/warning is that when you walk in there is a strong ordor of cigarettes. If you are sensitive, stay away. read more

This was the worst Chinese food we ever had. In fact we couldn't even eat it and threw it out. We were traveling and ordered delivery at our hotel. The food arrived quickly and was reasonably priced. When we tried it however, words can't describe how terrible it tasted. The hot sour soup was the worst thing I have ever eaten on earth. The entrees tasted like they were spoiled and all of the appetizers had a foul smell. We actually threw away the entire order and re-ordered dinner from another restaurant. read more

What a joke!!! We are from out of state in town visiting family and we just had the WORST Chinese food we have ever eaten. First off we ordered the simplest Chinese-American staples such as general tso chicken 2 vegetable egg rolls, crab rangoon, and fried rice. First the the appetizers -the crab rangoon was so hard you could barely bite into it and when you finally made it too the middle absolutely a pinky nail size of filling thought maybe it was just one ya no it was all of them Vegetable rolls- cold and doughy Next the general tso- my god I was actually afraid of what I was eating for a moment I thought it might have been made with tofu it was absolutely the worst chicken I have ever put in my mouth and the fried rice that was served with it was merely white rice tossed in some soy sauce. So we call the next day too tell them about it because by the time we ordered and had our food the place was going to close. Of course we get the old staple of not our problem well now it is take my advice yelpers stay far far away from china palace!!! What an awful place too eat I have no idea how this place is in business it must be the underdeveloped palates of the hillbillies of butler Pennsylvania. read more

Placed an order for delivery 10/18/15. I ordered 3 entrees and got 3 packages of rice that was probably 2 to 3 days old and drenched in soy sauce. It was far too salty to be edible. The entrees were mediocre and the General Tso's chicken didn't taste like it should. The Mongolian beef was mostly onions with a little bit of beef thrown in. Crab rangoon barely had any filling in it. Very disappointed overall and needless to say I will never order from them again. read more

Just ordered lunch for my husband and I today. Happy they were open even with it being a major holiday, that also delivered to my house out past the community college which most places do not deliver to. Now onto the food, fried rice was white rice soy sauce and scrambled egg, too much soy sauce in my opinion, and the general tso's was very sweet. It's listed on the menu as a spicy food and was anything but spicy. The food was good cooked properly and the chicken was big pieces not little Nuggets so that was a big plus. It's a 50-50 shot of us ordering again. Maybe something different from the menu next time. read more

Could've gone 4 stars, but the sauce for the Sesame Chicken was entirely too sweet. Ordered online Pork w Snow Peas, Sesame Chicken ("a little spicy, please"), & 2 quarts Shrimp Fried Rice with extra shrimp. Order came in the time estimated (1/2 hr - 45 min), & everything was hot. The delivery guy was cute in that as he was greeted by 4 Yorkies, he wasn't taken aback, in fact, he told me his last delivery was at a house with 4 Chihuahuas. Anyway, the rice was so-so -- it looked like white rice coloured with a few peas tossed in, but the amount of shrimp was great! As I mentioned, my Sesame Chicken was NOT even a tad spicy...it was sweet! And where were the sesame seeds? Good thing I have them in my cupboard! The pork w snow peas was delish. I was very happy with that. Another very small very minor pick: the package came with plastic forks, but NO CHOPSTICKS! I cannot eat Asian food with Western utensils. This place is the best! Finally Butler has a good place for Chinese food. It's run by a small family and is no doubt a good place to go to if coming into butler. The best dish is the chicken lo mein. It also has good fried dumplings and sesame chicken. If your not feeling up to leaving your house they offer very fast delivery. Try this great place! read more
