I've lived in Oviedo/Geneva for about 25+ years now, and as most people who live in this area know, there hasn't been too much to choose from over the years. I hit up China One maybe once every 2 months or so. It's on my way home from work, so stopping to pick up a quick dinner is pretty convenient. OK - Here we go. Very small staff of maybe one person working the counter and one doing the cooking. They have a plexiglass wall they've installed to help isolate customers & staff during this pandemic. I find there food to be average at best. To the best of my memory, I don't recall them ever getting my order wrong, like some of the reviewers have commented about. I think for take-out orders, their prices are just a few dollars higher than I really think the should be - but that's just me. All in all, China One is OK. When I was younger, I remember going into NYC and my Aunt taking me to China Town..... She had her 2 or 3 favorite places to go to, but all I remember is how GREAT the Chinese Food was there. Quick service for take away - well packaged and branded. Ambiance on Christmas Day was very festive with jingle music and a Xmas display. Food was fast and hot. However the fillings in the fried selections (Rangoon and sweet / sour chicken) were tiny. Just a hint of flavor and mostly fried batter. Very small pockets of actual ingredients inside. Got the wrong dish on Christmas... let it slide on that day as it was slammed. Called and no answer probably still busy. Let them know I got the wrong dish and they want me to bring it back. Its quality has gone way down. My wife and I both got sick after the dinner, can't prove it was the meal, but we both ate it, and had not been out, and both got sick with elevated temps etc.. There was some large, odd, solid pile of inedible beef in my dish, the egg rolls were not fully cooked, the prepared hot mustard was watery and discolored. The chef was arguing with the other staff. The food here is amazing! We got the vegetable egg rolls, eggplant with garlic sauce, vegetable delight and General Tso's chicken. It is all takeout here now. The prices were reasonable and the food was ready fast. We got so much food. This is the best Chinese food I've had in the Oviedo area. read more

This is the best Chinese food place in Oviedo. House special Lo Mein and the hot n sour soup are fantastic. Their fried wontons are crispy/crunchy and their pan fried dumpling are excellent. I never had a bad dish from China One. read more

My husband's favorite Chinese take out place and I don't complain about ordering either!! I love their dumpling appetizer with the sauce. Greatest dumplings on this side of town. Take out only. Super quick, on the cheaper side (not via Uber/DoorDash), and always reliable. read more

I used to love getting my chinese food from China One. But lately anytime I get food from China One I can taste seafood cross contamination in the food. When I am ordering Beef or Chicken the last thing I want to taste in my food is Fish or seafood. I thought maybe it was just a one off so I continued to retry my orders later and yet everytime lately I am still tasting fish in my beef or chicken orders. I am disappointed with this. I hope they can correct this issue. I would like my good nearby Chinese food back. PS I would love it if the owner would respond and let me know is there a way to avoid the cross contamination of seafood. When I first moved here a few years ago, I tried several places for Chinese food hoping it would be close to what I'm used to from Chicago. I finally gave up and requested friends to mail some from Chicago lol. I pass this restaurant weekly and was curious yet hesitant. I checked the reviews and EVERY ONE was positive. So I figured why not take a chance, besides a small was like $6. Well let me tell you this. I have been back 5 times since then. I have to get double each time because I refuse to share. I'm choosing a star because there isn't anything lower. My husband placed an order and didn't didn't bother to check until we got home. Upon arriving home he realize that he had received the incorrect order. We called and let the restaurant know of the mistake. At which point we got yelled at by a very rude lady, we asked to have the order remade and we would pick it up. Upon arrival to pick up the correct order. We were treated rudely and part of the order was also missing. I would definitely never recommend this place or ever go back. I'm presuming this is the owner's daughter as the owner was tried to be polite but her daughter is extremely rude and does not care about customer service. Sadly this had been a favorite for years but I don't know if the place changed hands or new cook but hubby and kids treated me to my favorite cashew chicken for my birthday price was double the normal and considerably higher than posted menu price it was more than 50% raw carrots only a couple of pieces of chicken the sauce was nothing like normal more like beef gravy and it was served with rather awful over cooked white rice not the usual pork fried rice it normally comes with (and still says it comes with on menu) but at nearly 20.00 for a one serving and one extra egg roll which was more like a grocery store frozen kind not what I expected from them it is definitely my last order from there read more

When I went to UCF, this was my Chinese joint. Although the person behind the counter answering the phone may be a little short with you, the food is REALLY good. The General Tso's and the sesame chicken are especially good. They have a deal where if you buy $20 of stuff on a pickup order, you get a free order of Krab Rangoon's. Boring. Bland. Basic. Even the spicy dishes, even if you ask for extra spice, are less spicy than mild food in a Thai or Indian restaurant. General Tso is all batter and very little meat with no spice at all, you may as well eat wet donuts. However, there is no real alternative in this neighborhood and that's how they survive. read more

This used to be my all time favorite for chinese food. But over the last year it has declined. The food isn't as good and they are sometimes out of items and have to substitute with something else. It's pretty disappointing because I have been a customer there for 17 years and now I am going to have to start looking for a new chinese food venue. :( read more
