Since it is the Christmas season, I feel compelled to give this place it's due…read more I've eaten at dozens of Chinese restaurants from coast to coast, and price vs quality, this place contends with the best of them. From their website, http://www.chinatownjefferson.com/ my wife and I ordered Beef Chow Mei Fun, Chicken Broccoli, and Sesame Chicken. The dishes were all good quality ingredients and the sauce was not too heavy. In addition, our mere 22$ order included free wantons and an egg roll. The egg roll was absolutely fantastic and is something I look forward to now purchasing again. The wantons are also some of the better ones i've had, they are very thin and oversized with a wonderful pastry flake. Thinner wantons like these though need to be eaten asap because they get soggy quickly. There really isn't anything negative I have to say about the place, the Sesame Chicken had less traditional flavor twist on it, almost like an Orange Chicken hybrid :p But it was still delicious. I definitely would recommend trying this place out.

The only complaint I could give which is more a preference than anything else - their hot & sour soup I've ordered 3 times has always been like jello/concentrate - not soup. The place in Jefferson has same soup that I was introduced to and it was beyond amazing. So I ordered in town and the first time thought maybe it was a rough night. The second time began to realize its most likely a different interpretation of the recipe that just isnt for me.

This is the third iteration of a Chinese eatery at this location; following Chen's Kitchen and…read moreXIao's. The new owners have completely remodeled the awful and drab interior of the prior two joints. It is now more of a restaurant with booths down each side and a counter at the back. The lighting is absurdly bright neon tube though. The good news is that the food is very good, judging by the carry-outs. Steamed dumplings were very good, with their own sauce. (The sauce lacked chopped onions and garlic however) Basil Chicken was excellent, with plenty of fresh cut basil and loads of chicken. Double Cooked Pork was very good with actual cut bamboo shoots and just the right amount of spice. House specials range from $10.25 - 12.95, while regular chicken, beef, chicken, pork and shrimp dishes are in the $8.95 - 10.75 range. There are also seven vegetarian dishes. Lunch specials - there are 28! - range from $5.95 - 6.50. Given the paucity of decent restaurants in the area, I gave it 5 stars.
