So I decided to give them another try. I ordered two of their sesame chicken meals. One for myself and the other for my daughter. Let me just say that I took one bite and I'm done. This food is freaking disgusting to say the least. I don't know why I even wasted my money. The batter on the chicken isn't fully cooked. It taste like it was fried in old grease. The rice even tastes like trash. I don't know what happened with them. Their food use to be so good years ago. I will make sure I never eat here again! So take my advice and don't waste your money here either. There is definitely other places in the city. Food: horrible ... worst experience. I order the vegetables lo mein which more vegetables than lo mein and it was burnt you could see, taste and smell that it was burnt. I also ordered the General Tso chicken which was terrible. The chicken was tough and way to much batter. The fried rice was dry and lack of flavor. Won't be ordering from here again. We ordered China Mountain I via Ubereats. Prep and delivery was quick. Ham fried rice is delicious. It is well seasoned and contains ample onion, ham, sprouts, and green onions. We also ordered sweet and sour chicken which was tasty and saucy. Batter on the chicken was not overly thick. Crab Rangoon were good. My criticisms: would prefer to get the sweet and sour chicken in separate containers to keep from getting soggy. We will be ordering from China Mountain I again. read more

I started teaching at Collinwood just this year and have come to love this place. It's typical take-out Chinese food but done very well with fresh vegetables. Really enjoyed the number 26 lunch special general Tso's chicken. Nice flavor and nice blend of sweetness and tanginess. The food is prepared fresh, hot and fast and the family that runs it are quite friendly. My only complaint might be that they're not going to help me keep my weight down especially over the winter. read more

Personal rule: try a place twice before I review it. Reason being, everyone has bad days. Now that that's out of the way, let's begin the review. Hadn't had this place in a few years so I decided to give them a try. I had a craving for general Tsos chicken, so I placed an order. General Tsos chicken, veggie fried rice, veggie eggrolls. Immediately I notice that the chicken used is usually found in sweet and sour chicken. If you're familiar with Chinese food, you'll understand. Sweet and sour chicken uses batter while general tso chicken is usually flour breaded. Anyway, the sauce is right so there's no big deal there. Next thing I notice is the rice is extremely oily. So then I proceed to the egg roll and it's like they didn't wrap it tight and/or didn't drain it long enough bc it's filled with oil. Purely disgusting. I've ate a lot of egg rolls in my life and this is the first one I did not finish. The only redeeming quality here was the chicken at least had the right sauce so it wasn't a total waste. Second trip, same order but I'm feeling a little adventurous so let's try the shrimp fried rice. It used to be good back in 2017/2018. Unfortunately the same issues. This time I can actually see oil dripping out of the egg roll. I eat the chicken, plus some of the greasy rice. Overall unsatisfied. As a result, they lose three stars for food quality but gain a star for consistency lol. read more

I've been eating here for about 15 years never had a problem . The chicken teriyaki is my favorite. I've had their Wonton soup and it doesn't have a lot of meat in the dumplings or I would give this place 5 stars . There pepper steak is great , many of your commonly ordered meals are excellent, prices and quantity nice. Fast accurate service, and they sell these little hot oil cups , and hot sauce cups for 25 cents . Clean place! read more

I was hoping that the mixed reviews would prove to be what they usually are, extremely mad people who only write bad things and the die hard fans. Well, unfortunately, the die hard fans aren't winning this one. The wontons in the wonton soup had no filling, the broth was very salty (I love salt so if it's salty for me it's probably realllly salty for most) and the pork strips were mostly fat. The beef noodle dish I ordered was heavily saturated with sauce that was over powering. And, I was really disappointed with how little beef was actually in the dish. This was hands down the worst meal I have ever had so far. Ordered the shrimp roll and Hunan shrimp. Both were extremely taste less and smelled bad. Rolls each had one measly shrimp in them. I paid extra and ordered a large for the hunan shrimp (big mistake) - literally was 5 total shrimp in two pounds of frozen vegetables in a smelly brown sauce. Such tasteless and smelly food. Ordered the chicken chow mein: there were literally no noodles in the chow mein, just a huge mound of sauce-soaked bean sprouts. The other vegetables in the chow mein tasted awful. I am currently residing in Philadelphia , where there isn't any damn Ham Fried Rice:( I have been a customer ever since I could remember! I attended Collinwood middle and High school and if you hade 2 bucks you were sure enough to get a good meal! I was spoiled having Kim's and China Mountain my school years. I just ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Fried Rice and Vegetable Egg Roll. And I'm upset to say that I am disappointed. When putting the fork into the chicken, there was resistance and the chicken was hard. The chicken was so hard that it came out of the batter that encased it. You can tell that it is either: old or old and refried because as said, the chicken is hard and not to mention a little brown in certain pieces. The chicken also unnaturally breaks apart as being chewed or being separated by hand. I think it is bad when the batter tastes better than the chicken itself. Also the side sauces are OLD and faded in color. Whereas, the best part was the roll and the rice; this however is saddening since it is not the main subject of the dish. This place should be evaluated because this is not right. read more

Been going here for years. When I went to high school, I would catch the bus up from Glenville and go and get some of their rice and chow mein. But something has changed in their food. Today, I ordered an egg roll, chicken fried rice and chicken chow mein. The first two were superb. Delicious as usual. But that chow mein looked like a culinary abortion. I opened the box and there weren't even noodles inside. Just a ton of bean sprouts and water chestnuts suspended in this slimy substance. It looked so unappetizing. The slime reminded me of something from Harry Potter (the scene where they have to get past the three headed dog, which drops drool onto Ron before they escape through the floor door) and from that movie called Beethoven, about the Saint Bernard. It looked like someone blew a snot rocket over and over again into the food. Needless to say, I threw it away. I have lost all desire to ever eat there again. I don't even want any Chinese food for awhile. They get three stars because they are pretty friendly and quick, but that food was a let down. What the f*** was that slimey stuff? read more
