Ordered Jumbo Shrimp Pan Fried Noodle here $16.95 takeout. While waiting for the food. I was asking the gal behind the cash register if they have been busy lately with the Chinese BBQ and she stated this past weekend they were really busy. I then told her it's because Kai Kai owners left Kai Kai and sold it maybe to another owner but they no longer run Kai Kai. So as the conversation passes she told me - The Crispy pork they cook there is NOT ROASTED but FRIED. It was brought up because i was telling her a few people have said kai kai fell off as far as taste in the bbq / meats. So then I said yes the skin part is not crispy like how you guys do it. So she mentioned she wondered why they have been busy with Chinese BBQ meats as of lately. I ordered the $4.95 boba smoothie (mango) as a refresher because it is hot outside - For the price it is not bad I think they use mango puree as the base. The dishes here are delicious. This is why I keep coming back.

These legends welcomed our whole crew with zero wait like it was just another Tuesday--talk about VIP service. Now let's talk food. First up, the tofu and veggie stir-fry--a glorious mix of crispy tofu cubes with perfectly sautéed broccoli, carrots, and bok choy in a savory brown sauce that hugged every bite like a warm hug from a Chinese grandma. The beef with broccoli? Tender, flavorful, and bathed in rich umami goodness. Honestly, if I could bottle that sauce, I'd put it on everything--maybe even my cereal (don't judge). The Honey Walnut Shrimp was love at first crunch. Perfectly crispy shrimp in a creamy, sweet glaze topped with candied walnuts and nestled on a bed of fresh steamed broccoli. This dish was the Beyoncé of the table--everyone wanted a piece. Those crispy, golden Shrimp Ball Fritters? Imagine a crunchy sea urchin made of joy. Light, airy, and addictive--basically the potato chip of appetizers. The pan-fried dumplings were thick, juicy, and had the perfect crispy sear. No sad, soggy dumplings here. Then came the crispy duck--dark, rich, and bursting with deep roasted flavor. It had that satisfying crunch you want, and the meat melted in your mouth. A must for meat lovers. But the real MVP? Those soup dumplings. Steamy little flavor bombs that explode in your mouth like a culinary fireworks show. Served in their own mini tins like royalty--juicy, delicate, and impossible to eat just one. The table went silent the second they landed. That's how you know it's real. With quick service, huge portions, and a menu that hits every craving from noodles to dumplings to sizzling plates of joy, Peter's Kitchen China Bistro was the unexpected gem we didn't know we needed. Cozy, authentic, and efficient--this place made our group dinner easy, delicious, and downright memorable.

We arrive right when they open, get seated, and get some nice oolong tea brewing while the ladies with the carts stock up and start tantalizing us with their scrumptious dim sum. Fried shrimp, dumplings, shumai, ribs, buns, and my absolute favorite, sticky rice. It all just came flying one after another after another, and it makes life so much better when you can share these delectable little treats with a table full of people. Eating more of one thing means you don't get to try as many things. That's no good. So we came, we saw, we conquered. Ambiance was the nice, stereotypical American Chinese tranquility. Servers were all very nice. And the dim sum were all pretty much on par quality as the rest of casual places like this around town. Overall, this was a very nice experience. We tried a dim sum dumpling that had shrimp and some other meat (waiter was so quiet I couldn't hear him) and it was okay. We also tried a tofu wrap and a chewy shrimp wrap that was 90% wrap and had 2 mini shrimp in it. We also got the bok choy and it was okay. Very oily. The spicy oil was good. The hot tea was good as well. Bathroom was clean. Service was sporadic and the dim sum carts were not coming around nearly enough for how many people were in the dining room. The food was okay- I think if I came back I would order off the menu instead of dim sum. We were there around 1pm on Sunday. This has been my go-to Asian bakery ever since Saigon Market closed down and they have not disappointed. My favorites include the pork floss bun, sponge cakes, and hot dog buns! Personally, I would skip the trendy croissant cubes because they're not as good as they look. It's usually more bread than filling and I've had the same experience with other places too. When it comes to service, I've always had good experiences at Bakery 1908 and I really like how they have a self-ordering kiosk for dishes and drinks if you'd rather skip ordering at the counter. I think the cakes are a little bit more expensive than the buns because of extra craftsmanship but it's completely worth it. For me, the biggest downside to Bakery 1908 is the location. Mills has always been a busy area and it can be hard to leave the parking lot. But otherwise it's completely worth the visit and a lot more accessible than other restaurants there. I love coming back to Bakery 1908 and always try something new every single time I go.

Some of the other cafed I've been to with a similar concept are clumsy, bad at fulfilling orders, and overly pushy with tips and up selling. Bakery 1908 gave me what I wanted, how I wanted it, as I wanted one. Actually, the missing star is because of the actual quality of the bakery. It may be because of the time of the day (they had a buy two get one free offer), but their desserts lacked some filling/flavor. Nothing that accompanying them with a good drink wouldn't solve. I will give them many more tries, as they became my favorite of the bunch.
