I keep kosher I have worked as a cook I tried to talk to the proprietor but it was clear he was not open to feedback. The food is awful. It is all pre-cooked, overcooked, overly sweet. I ordered a Pu-Pu platter for fun and nostalgia. The meat was dry and leathery in a very sweet sauce. The "meat " egg rolls were all cabbage and tasted like a tin can. I pulled one apart looking for the meat. The server said it was there. Well, my vision is pretty good but the tiny specks of something must have been the meat. My dinner companions had over cooked noodles and school cafeteria dishes. The proprietor said I could have sent my food back. After showing the inside of an egg roll to a server and not being offered a replacement I didn't see that happening. There was also ambiguity about the servers keeping tips. This is my first time ever going to a Chinese kosher restaurant and realize I can't use the same standards as regular Chinese restaurants, but come on - give us actual bowls and utensils. Food was alright, but portions weren't too big. The spicy food was not spicy by my standard, but I understand not making the food so spicy when the main demographic of the restaurant is a primarily Jewish community. The server was rude. Our steamed dumplings were inedible. The dumplings (appetizer) was served with the main courses. I ordered chicken fried rice. The rice was orange and as far from being Chinese as it could be. Was also annoyed at the plastic and paper utensils the server literally threw on the table. Not a good experience. read more

Scallion pancake was terrible. Doughy, thick, and no scallions. Chicken dumplings also awful. Dry and small. They packaged both dishes with the dipping sauce, but both were so hot they melted the cups and the sauce spilled over everything. Egg roll was tough and chewy and the fried rice was soft and had barely any veggies in it. General tsao's was not crunchy enough and the sauce was wrong, but not bad. Weird veg choices in there. The spring rolls were ok, and the veg lo mein wasn't bad. The best thing we got was the chicken with mixed veg, but the mushrooms were thick and there wasn't a huge variety of veg. Overall, if you need Kosher Chinese, this place is here and I get it. But if you like Chinese food and don't have to keep Kosher, there are lots of better options. read more

Overall, China Lee is OK. The food was OK, decent for American style Chinese in this area. A little pricey for what you get. The service was OK, although the front desk guy is kind of an a-hole. Anyways, I'd say give it a shot if you're looking for decent American Chinese food. I recommend ordering online and delivery, though. This place does not even deserve one star. Earlier before picking up I called the place to put an order for 2 large lomein noodles and 1 sesame chicken, I don't believe how many times I emphasized that I needed broccoli on both orders of lomein. The man on the phone then said "the broccoli is included! In the lomein!" 5 times in a row. He transfers me to a Chinese lady who then tells me that I need to repeat everything I already told the Chinese guy! After talking to both of the people on the phone I finally say that I want 2 large lomein and a large sesame chicken with brown rice. We get our order and drive an hour to New York City, check our bags and take out our lomein with NO broccoli. This is horrific because we did not get what we asked for on the phone. The service on the phone was the worst, and not to mention our lomein wasn't the normal kind of lomein that they serve at Chinese restaurants. This one did not have any sauce and was just plain noodles with onions. Disgraceful. read more

The owners of Lin's are involved in this establishment. The wonton soup was hot and delicious. My husband likes his hot and sour soup, hot and sour. Mindy remembered and doctored it just the way he likes it. The sesame chicken was delicious as was the vegetable moo shoo. The drive of approximately 40 minutes is well worth it.
