It was my first time coming to this restaurant I had a pleasant time, Oji the cashier was very welcoming and caring but the best of all the food was delicious I'm definitely coming back

    Vegetable Chow Mein

To start off, I was impressed by the immense gratitude that was shown through a great mass of food provided to us by the kind bilingual queen who worked the register. In terms of taste, it met and I'd say it exceeded the standard of typical Chinese take out. At the same time it was not something I'd choose as a last meal if I was to be electrocuted on Death Row. We chose to not consume our delicious meal inside the establishment, as it was a bit stuffy. However, we enjoyed our meal in the parking lot to take in all of the culture surrounding us in this area. Due to the nature of Chinese takeout--characterized by the casualness, fillingness, and greasiness-- China King sure knocked it out the park. Will come again. Received and devoured: Boyfie: 2 Entree Combo (BBQ Pork, Orange Chicken, and Chow Mein), Manzanita Sol Can Gf: Side of Chow Mein, 5 Vegetable Rolls, Green Tea Arizona Can

Ambiance is spectacular - interior is absolutely beautiful and they have amazing attention to details. Restrooms were very clean and nice too. Location is perfect - on Brookhurst in a great Vietnamese plaza off McFadden with tons of other great businesses around as well. Came here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend for dinner with a friend. We conveniently arrived around 430pm, and they surprisingly have Happy Hour on weekends as well. We ordered the Deep-fried salmon bellies, Oxtail tacos, Garlic noodles, Oysters, and later Whole Mussels Skillet all from their Happy Hour menu. We were pretty excited since they looked like really good deals. Salmon bellies, oxtail tacos, and Whole Mussels Skillet were all good. Garlic noodles - bland, needs more seasoning and greens with them such as cilantro and green onions, more cheese - something. Service - a young boy and girl, Mason and another girl helping us were very sweet. And to what made you guys lose 3 stars - "Oyster (Oyster minimum order is 1 dozen) $2" My friend and I thought this was some Happy Hour only special promo, so cool. I asked and they're just raw oysters - honestly they weren't that good, should've been cooked and seasoned in some way. Basically they didn't have to try much for these, besides ensuring they're clean and safe for consumption, but I thought it was a good deal so worth a shot trying. Then I got the bill and was like WTF? And the worse part was the lady's attitude about it, saying how it's common sense (ie you're stupid for not understanding). The obvious right way to write that is "Platter of a Dozen Oysters $24 and $2 for each additional oyster", not "Oyster (minimum a dozen) $2" - WTF, and she acted like I'm the first to call her out on that. Said she can't do anything, it's obvious, but sure she can tell someone to make a note to update the menu and seemed to roll her eyes. Mason, the young server was nice and understanding, but I couldn't stand the basic Vietnamese woman with HEAVY makeup working at the front. My friend I had dinner with found her extremely rude too. Would I come back? Not likely anymore. Would I recommend them? If you're willing to pay for nice ambiance, decent food, but GOD-AWFUL SERVICE, then be my guest. As a Vietnamese person myself, I'm ashamed of people like these for perpetuating the cheapskate Vietnamese stereotype.

It's a casual, family-friendly spot with a fun seafood-themed atmosphere, and the service was friendly and welcoming. We tried the Cali Truffle Roll, Lobster Grilled Cheese, Lobster Bisque, Clam Chowder, fries, tots, mac and cheese, and the strawberry lemonade. The amount of lobster in everything really impressed us. They definitely don't skimp, and every lobster dish felt generous and satisfying. The Cali Truffle Roll was probably the freshest bite of the meal. I loved that the lobster was served chilled with avocado, cucumber, carrots, red onion, celery and greens. It was cold, crisp and refreshing while still feeling indulgent from the truffle oil and herb mayo. The Lobster Grilled Cheese was another favorite, especially dipped into the soups. We ended up dipping absolutely everything into both the lobster bisque and clam chowder, including the fries and tots. Everything paired so well together that it became part of the experience. There's a good variety on the menu for the whole family, along with deals and specials that make it an easy casual lunch or dinner option. Turns out, it wasn't nearly as crowded as before - though spoiler: the price has increased a lot (I want to say it was $25/lb 10 years ago, and now is $37/lb). Keep in mind too, you can't get a small amount like 1lb - usually it's gonna be 3+lb so your bill is easily going to hit mid-$100 to $200s from the lobster alone. That being said, many people swear this is the best, and that's why they can charge whatever they want. I'm actually allergic to lobster (lol) but am a team player so I just sampled it for the funsies, and had to get another dish to actually eat (went with the beef lok luk). My family said the lobster noodle was good, but not like, fantastic (which we were expecting not fantastic but yeah, mostly came here to a family meeting.) The beef lok luk was also pretty good like, 4.3 of 5 - we just had another version at Paradise which was astounding (like 4.6) though also more expensive and pretty far away. Overall, not sure if we'll come back again as we're more curious about the copycats that have popped up which might be 80% as good and much more affordable. Stay tuned! :)

Everything was really good. One downside was that it was a little difficult to tell what the dishes were since so much is in Vietnamese, and the staff did not speak English very well. Also, we believe the seafood dish was named Lobster Noodles (again, hard to be sure), but it was a combination of lobster and crab. We also noticed that, as some other reviewers have mentioned, some of the lobster and crab shells didn't have much meat in them. However, there was enough in the overall dish for us to be satisfied. This is a ghost kitchen concept and, from what we could tell, the owner seems to be running everything on his own. I definitely sympathize with that and understand how difficult it must be to handle the cooking, orders, phones, and pickups as a one-man operation. That being said, the expectations around wait times really need to be more realistic. We placed an order for several food items and were told it would take about 30-45 minutes. We decided to go grocery shopping in the meantime and ended up coming back about 2 hours later--and our food still wasn't ready. Ended up not getting this until another hour of waiting later. I completely understand being backed up, but I would much rather be given an honest 2+ hour estimate upfront so we could plan accordingly as we had other things scheduled for our day. Pickup was also frustrating. You have to ring the doorbell to get someone's attention, and you may be waiting quite a while before anyone answers. Calling in an order also seems to be hit or miss (half of the time no answer), which makes the whole process difficult, especially for a business that seems to rely heavily on takeout and catering orders. As for the food itself, it was decent and we enjoyed it, but nothing really blew us away. Unfortunately, the extremely long wait and difficulty communicating overshadowed the food for us. I think there's definitely potential here, and I genuinely hope they're able to get some additional help because it seems like one person is simply trying to do too much. With better communication and more accurate wait times, the experience could be completely different. For now, though, 2/5 based on our experience.
