For appetizers, spring rolls were mid, chicken noodle soup was tasty, wonton soup was bland, the chicken wings were well executed and crispy, and the edamame was really good. Service was fast and we would probably return if we had the craving again. It's not a place we would drive out of the way for but it fits the bill nicely for Chinese take out.

It's been 4 years since I reviewed here, which is my trend I guess, with my last two being in 2016…read more& 2020. It's been my favorite Chinese in the region since I first tried it nearly ten years ago. China Dragon, located in Gulf Shores, AL, is a well-established Chinese restaurant that has been serving delicious Asian cuisine for over a decade. They have a cozy dining area with a few tables, and while I have dined there quite a few times, I do pick ups for my takeout fix on a lot more occasions, like tonight . They now also have another location in Orange Beach, AL as well but I haven't tried that one, yet :-) Their menu features an assortment of classic Chinese dishes. Appetizers like egg rolls and crab rangoon provide the perfect start to any meal, while the restaurant's signature General Tso's chicken, Mongolian beef, and lo mein dishes showcase the flavors and textures of traditional Chinese cuisine. Side note: Interestingly, General Tso's chicken, a dish named after General Tso, a 19th-century Hunanese general, despite being synonymous with Chinese cuisine in America and around the world, has a somewhat surprising history. The dish wasn't actually created in China, nor was it eaten by the historic General Tso. Instead, it was invented in Taiwan in the 1950's by a chef named Peng Chang-kuei, who had fled there with the Nationalists after their defeat by Mao Zedong's Communists. But then it was transformed into the sweet, fried staple of American Chinese cuisine we know and love in New York City during the 1970s. It is one of my all-time dishes when I'm eating out Chinese, and I do not cook it. There is one dish that I really, really like here that is wildly overlooked. It's simply listed on the menu as "Singapore Rice Noodle" which I've had in Chinatown's from Boston to San Francisco but they don't describe it anywhere here. They do a fantastic job with this dish. Singapore Rice Noodles, is also known as Singapore Mei Fun or Xing Zhou Chao Mi Fen, and a popular stir-fried rice noodle dish with a unique blend of spices and ingredients. Despite its name, the dish is believed to have originated in Hong Kong and is not commonly found in Singapore itself. They make it with rice noodles, onions, carrots, and bean sprouts, with generous portions of shrimp, chicken and beef all cooked perfectly. Speaking of portions, they also give you portions they are easily enough to share with two or more people at very reasonable prices. Try it! In addition to dine-in and takeout services, China Dragon offers delivery through its own dedicated drivers, as well as through third-party platforms like Grubhub and Doordash. Bottom line: This place is an outstanding choice for Chinese with an extensive menu, convenient hours, fast service and hot fresh food. Highly recommended!! Open seven days a week with operating hours ranging from 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM or 10:30 PM depending on the day, China Dragon ensures customers can satisfy their cravings at any time. There were fewer options than other Chinese buffets. The salad bar looked decent, but we didn't eat salad. She started to argue about it and charged us full buffet price for food we couldn't safely eat. Our server was good, so we left her a tip and without considering her good service, this rating would be a 1.

Our waitress was incredible, very knowledgeable and patient with my families questions about the menu. She made the experience that much better! Food wise we had: -seaweed salad (standard but yummy, 7/10) -spicy cucumber salad (a table favorite, 9/10) -potstickers (another favorite, my niece is ready to return for these alone! 10/10) -chicken clay pot with rice (really good, but I wish there was some veg in there or something? Kind of one note, but still tasty. 7/10) -short rib clay pot (I didn't try this but my sister enjoyed it, 7/10) -Panang curry (a go to favorite, my niece is very happy to have another place in town to get it! She gave it a 10/10, I give it an 8. It was a little fishy for me and I prefer more liquid.) -eggplant in garlic sauce (this was a mixed reaction. My mom ordered it upon the waitresses advice that it wasn't too spicy but it actually ended up being too spicy for her to eat. I enjoyed it a lot though the texture of the eggplant was perfect and the flavors were very well balanced although it was the spiciest thing we had.8/10) -creme brulee milk tea with tapioca (I love boba but this was kind of boring.6/10) -cotton candy milk tea with rainbow jelly (14/10, the best I've ever had I think. We will come back for this again and again.!) Overall it was a really great experience and the pricing was quite reasonable, we got all that plus a couple sodas for $108 before the tip. The atmosphere is good, well lit, roomy booths, very clean and we liked the music.

Easy parking, cool vibes, great service, and I would say I don't doubt that Xian Noodle Place is…read moreone of the best if not the best Chinese spot in Pensacola. However, in writing this review, I have to compare to spots I've ranked with however many stars, which includes different spots around the country, and when compared to the rest of the field, the ballgame's a bit different. First off, I'm grateful Pensacola has Xian Noodle Place. There clearly aren't that many options here when it comes to authentic Chinese food (I was trying hard to find a place when I landed at the airport). When I walked in, the service was friendly and seating was immediate. There is a bar area and there is a large seating area. Trendy remixes of Chinese pop hits from years past were being played. This all is super cool. As people know from my past reviews, beef noodle soup is a big factor in my judging. And I saw beef noodle soup options on the menu here and asked about them, because I want to make sure I'm getting what I'm wanting here. I'll give credit to the server - she was completely honest that the flavoring of the beef noodle soup wasn't the hearty richly-seasoned version known in Taiwanese circles. So I ordered the roast duck noodle soup and soup dumplings instead. The roast duck noodle soup is absolutely solid. It does the trick. The broth is a basic chicken broth, noodles are fine, and the duck is plentiful, as one would expect. Good garnish, it's tasty and does the trick. The soup dumplings, I would say, are perhaps not what you would get at an establishment that makes their own. Again, it's tasty and does the trick, but likely about the same as if you went to your local Chinese supermarket and bought the soup dumplings from the frozen section and then prepped it at home. Total price after taxes and standard tip? Over $30. One person, one normally-sized bowl of duck soup noodles and five soup dumplings with sauce. I know Miami is extremely pricey for food, so perhaps this is a Florida thing, but $30 is a bit exorbitant for food that does the trick but isn't quite spectacular. Again, I'm sure there are other options here that are tasty, but considering the different factors, when comparing to others in the game beyond Pensacola, the bottom line is I'd say Xian Noodle Place is solid but not spectacular, and also fairly pricey for the level of food served.

Go there when you are hungry and leave there stuffed. Since this is all that you can eat, you should get smaller servings of what you want, so that you eat almost everything on your plate because they don't like for you to have food still on your plate that they have to throw away. For Take Out, you tell the Server what you want, as you go through the buffet line together, and you get one take out plate that has to have the lid shut for take out, and if you want crab and crème cheese wontons, you can get another take out plate to go. They serve only Pepsi fountain drinks, iced or hot tea, sweet or unsweetened, and water with real lemon juice squeezed into the water, with or without sugar. They also serve beer, wine, or cocktails. They also have a desert buffet with puddings, whip cream, cookies. Watermelon slices, and other fruits, plus the fact that they have a soft ice cream machine that you can pump into an ice cream bowl that is chocolate, vanilla, and/or vanilla/chocolate swirl ice cream yogurt to be eaten while you are inside of their restaurant. After eating just a small sample of their buffet food, you have a full stomach and you are ready to drive home and take a peaceful nap. I love to eat at Ping Garden with my husband and friends.
