I got their small shrimp fried rice to go. Make sure to say you want spicy if you are someone like me who likes the food flavorful and spicy. Nevertheless, I liked the fried rice. It was pretty good after I added some chili flakes, soy sauce, and Siracha. And I felt like I was a stranger interrupting their noon-time meal when I walked in to pick up my order. The food at China king is Amazing. I have been going there for the past 9 years now. My favorites ( usual order) are the broccoli and chicken with white rice, and the Lo Mein. The food service is also very fast. Ready in minutes. The only reason why I gave them a three star is because of their poor customer service. Horrible staff! Horrible customer service! I went in and asked for ketchup packages for a co-worker that had made a purchase about 5 minutes prior to me going there. I had a bag in my had when I went in. Politely asked for a ketchup package and the woman noticed my bag and says with attitude in her voice "no no you didn't purchase here" and shooed me away. I told her there is no need for an attitude and I have no problem paying for the ketchup. As I began reaching in my pocket to pay A man comes to the front and says "ok. If I gave it to you for free then there wouldn't be a problem". I had to explain to him that paying for the ketchup or you giving it to me for free is besides the point. Watch out, these guys will come to your house at night and accuse you of fraud out of nowhere! This is going to sound crazy, but I swear it's true. We order from here all the time because we live close by. So last night at around 10:15, after everyone was asleep but my wife, there's a knock at the door. My wife answers, and it's a guy from China King. He has a receipt in his hand, and he says, "Are you disputing this credit card charge? Is this your signature?" My wife was taken aback; it was her signature, but first of all, we hadn't disputed any charges. And second of all, why was this conversation happening at 10:15 on our doorstep? She told the guy she had no idea what he was talking about, that we had eaten there this afternoon, but nobody was disputing any charges. She told the guy to leave. My dog was going crazy, so I woke up just as he had left, and I was kind of upset. I called the place and asked to talk to the guy who just came to my house, and when I asked him why he came to bother us at home so late at night, and he said, "listen man, this happens all the time to us, and this is what we have to do." I told him I had no idea about what was happening, but asked why he didn't just call on the phone like a normal person - or better yet, go through the credit card company's dispute resolution process like you're supposed to? All he said was, "listen man, you didn't have to answer the door. this happens all the time." So I hung up angry. Told you it sounded crazy, but it's really true. It really sucks, because honestly I like their food, but apparently if you pay with a credit card they might just randomly come to your house in the middle of the night to accuse you of fraud. I love this place! For a few weeks I was going there every day for lunch (until i went on a strict diet) and they have the best tasting Chinese food around this area! I have had others as comparison and China King was by far the BEST. They rule because: ~They are super speedy ~Delivery is super speedy ~VERY Affordable and includes 3 cans of soda for free with purchases of 20 bucks ~Very tasty ~Very consistently good tasty food and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :) I have eaten the General Tso's and the Sesame Chicken the most though I sometimes get dumplings, pork fried rice, beef and veggies, soups, etc. Never once was disappointed! Please give 'em a try! PS~And the other reviewers honestly don't know what they are talking about...rating the place as if it were a regular sit-down restaurant??? The service is beyond lacking, rude, (why is my waitress eating her lunch @ the table next to me??) when u HAVE to get up to 1. get ur own drink 2.retrieve condiments, and 3.search out your waitress then um whats the point? The food looked good enough when I saw it, but the chicken was EXTREMELY tasteless. It wasn't crunchy, it wasn't spicy, it wasn't saucy, it wasn't sweet... it was just really mushy and I didn't really know what I was eating. I've been spoiled by places in the area such as Village Gourmet, Shanghai Cafe, and Chings Table, so compared to those, this just doesn't cut it. It is quick (always "10 minutes!") and very convenient to my house, so those are the positives. There is one nice young man that I've gotten on the phone to place an order, but then there is a sort of nasty woman who doesn't let you get a word in edge-wise as well, so the staff are hit or miss. I am not one to carry cash around usually, and once the people got mad at me when I tried to pay with my debit card for about a $10 dinner. They charged me a $0.30 fee, which really isn't that much but still. I know places have to pay to accept credit/debit cards, but still, hardly anyone carries cash anymore! The food is your standard take out chinese fare, which is fine if that's what you are looking for. I like this place for a neighborhood place...they listen to your request, you say little oil and you actually get your order with little oil. Mostly, it's just ok, but for fast take out not bad. I love the chicken in garlic sauce with broccoli and fried bean curd...really tasty. I'd definitely say go for it. I never had a problem using my debit card for a $10 order like the other reviewer, but they do charge me .25 cents for a teeny container of hot sauce. I love China King! It's my go-to for chinese take out. Me and my wife have been going here for years and its always been dependable. Some of our favorites are the Boneless spareribs, Crab wantons and Pork Mei Fun. The delivery is always quick and arrives hot. The only real complaint we have is the driver never seems to understand how to use the call box and makes us come to the causeway for our building. This is the reason we give this place 4 stars. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. We live in Darien and they still deliver to us which makes us overjoyed! read more

Large portions and quick. Basic Americanized Chinese food but we witnessed just how popular a staple they seemed to be for folks in Norfolk with all the orders they were putting together for take out. Wow. Great for quick pick up and will definitely fill you up. we really liked our fried rice and the general tso was pretty good. The sweet and sour was not my favorite, but if you are partial to the taste of a panda express meal, then china king's prices, portions and taste will go over and beyond your needs. read more

These people have horrible customer service. Today I ordered steam chicken and broccoli with egg fried rice. When I left I noticed there were barely any chicken (maybe 4 tiny pieces) and 4/5 pieces of broccoli. I politely walked in the store and told the lady I wasn't satisfied with the position size for the amount of money I am paying. Immediately she got an attitude and started causing a commotion instead of listening to her customer concern. Instead of her try to fix the meal she just complained about how she tried to give me a deal with the lunch menu (which I wasn't even aware of ). All she had to do was put extra meat and broccoli and called it a day but she just kept going on. This place is horrible. I placed an order over the phone for food, to be delivered to my home and paid by Credit Card. I gave the person on the phone (later I found out she was the owner) my credit card number and she said the food would arrive in 30 mins or so. When the driver arrived, he didnt have a credit card slip and demanded I pay cash for my order. I checked my bank account and it showed China King had made a charge, so I refused. He gave me my food and said he would be back for my signature, to which I was OK. 20 minutes later, he showed up with a manual credit card slip to take an imprint of my credit card. I refused, not wanting my card number recorded, and he became beligerent. He asked me to call his boss (the owner) so I did, and she hung up the phone on me after I refused to allow an imprint of my credit card. 20 minutes later, the delivery driver started calling me over and over again while I was in the shower demanding that I come out and sign a credit card slip. His boss then started tag team calling me at the same time demanding I go out and sign the slip, all while I was in the shower out of range of my phone. The food was also not very good. Beware of these people. They created a scene at my apartment complex, and would probably do the same again. Not worth the hassle for mediocre food and lousy service read more
