    Chicken fried rice
    Samantha B.

Tried to call in the order she kept repeating do I kno their location, so I just came inside. Rude steady rushing me to order and had the nerve to serve my family the nastiest trashiest rice I've gotten around no lie. I ordered chicken fried rice with bean sprouts brown gravy and beef added. Also got a few egg rolls and crabragoons. The rice is awful we literally wasted our money. We all ate close to nothing guess the dog will enjoy it. Not sure what kind of chicken meat was in it, just white globs of dough it tasted like. The egg rolls taste like they could've been good minus the molded taste...like a strong moldy taste. They were nice enough to put 2 cookies in the sac, cookies so nasty my 3 year old took a bite and gave it back saying he don't want it which NEVER happened with any cookie. There's a china king in Belleville Illinois that would never serve trash like this. Do yourself a favor and avoid this nasty a$$ place man...if I could give it 0 stars I would

China King is a dine-in or takeout joint in the Buzz Westfall Plaza on the Boulevard (aka the former Northland Plaza), located at the site of the former Chopstix. I don't know if China King is a chain, or just a very popular generic name for a Chinese food restaurant. As a frequent Chopstix diner, I was anxious to try this particular China King so I could see how it compared, and how it was overall. For my family, I ordered the Singapore Noodles, Seafood Delight, Fried Steamed Dumpling (eh, basically potstickers), Special Fried Rice, Eggrolls, Fried Chicken Gizzards and Hot Braised Wings, to go. The dining area is just ok. It is quite small, and I have never cared for the windows being uncovered. The decor is nothing special, but decent. It looks clean, and it's still better than the often dilapidated seating at the typical "city" Chinese (primarily) take-out restaurants. I was there in early evening, and there were other take-out customers, but no one dining in at that time. The dumplings may very well be made in-house, and are shaped a little differently from typical potstickers, but were good, and come with the usual vinegar & soy sauce mixture. Eggrolls were good, possibly better than average. I don't know if they are made there or are provided by a vendor. The gizzards had a great flavor and were simply seasoned. Very lightly breaded. The Singapore Noodles was quite good! This is made with spaghetti-like noodles, and contains a bit of curry in the sauce. The fried rice was very good, and rightfully so, as many Chinese joints in or near the city simply must be good at fried rice! China King did well here. I forgot to try the wings, but mama said they were good. Now, I might've given them another star had their Seafood Delight been on-point, however, it wasn't quite there. When you serve dishes like this, you simply must make sure each of the many ingredients is as fresh as possible, from the start. While the dishes were prepared with skill, some of the seafood items were... dicey. The shrimp was super chewy and just not the correct snappy texture one would expect. The surimi (sea legs, imitation crab) looked good, but tasted off. They threw in a few crab rangoon, since I had gotten so much food! They were good, a bit sweet, no noticeable crab, but then that's common with these things. The bottom line, is that this China King is a winner, and is much better than most any Chinese restaurant in the North County area. You will not find food this good at Lisa's or anything else nearby. Generally, recommended!

It's a great place for friends or family or alone too. They to takeout as well or order delivery. The ingredient selection is really impressive and very vegetarian friendly. Everything looked fresh and they refill often. There are also lots of soup base options to choose from plus a stir fry option if you want to mix it up. The make your own sauce station is a great touch too. The staff works incredibly fast at turning tables and keeping everything clean. They only have one bathroom (it's clean) so just be aware for wait times. They also give you one free rice bowl which is a small but good bonus. There's a good amount of seating though I've heard the line goes out the door on weekends. Overall I really loved this place and I am already looking forward to coming back.

This was my first experience at a hot pot by the pound restaurant. I've only been to all you can…read moreeat hot pot restaurants, so I was excited to try this place out. Apparently, I wasn't the only one because this place got packed by 6p on a weekday! The line was out the door. It can be a little confusing for a first time goer as you enter the place and grab a bowl to select the ingredients you want to eat. The minimum weight that you have to buy is 0.9 lbs, but you really won't know how much your bowl weighs until you get up to the cashier and put it on the scale. My bowl was underweight my first time through, so I went back to grab more ingredients. If I had to guess the minimum cost for a 0.9 lb bowl, it's probably about $16, which is a pretty good price for a hot pot. My bowl weighed about 0.97 and it was way more than I could comfortably eat. The next decision you have to make after you have selected your ingredients is the base and spicy level. I went with #1 Oil splash spicy soup at medium spice level. Now, I enjoy spicy foods, but this was at the upper limit of enjoyability. Although tasty, I think the oil in the broth got to be too much and I will want to try a different base next time. After you pay for your food, you get a number which you take to a table of your choosing and wait for your bowl to come out (they cook it for you). There is a drinking water station next to the free rice station, which was around the corner from the complimentary pickled vegetable station. Overall, positive experience and I would return for more. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

I was able to find the name of the restaurant on Yelp and found out that it was Chinese BBQ restaurant. Needless to say, I hopped in my car and drove straight to it right after. They open until late (midnight) so it's a perfect spot for hanging out and gathering. The restaurant is not too big so I would imagine a little wait if it ever gets busy. We came on a Friday but it was not too busy. You will be given an iPad to look through the menu and send orders to the kitchen. The process was straightforward. Food was pretty good in my opinion. I can't tell if it's authentic or not since I'm not Chinese but the whole experience was so cool. Food was cooked but they brought out a stove to warm my food. I recommend getting the lamb skewers and the Taiwanese sausage. In addition, if you like seafood, try out the oyster and vermicelli tin foil. The oyster was really juicy and fresh. Price was a little high. Expect to spend about 30-50 per person. However, I do enjoy my experience and will return for sure.

I am a sucker for a good lamb skewer so when I walked in to visit I ended up order 6 of them. You can order at the kiosk or at the register. My total was $16.99 before tax and tip. The interior of the restaurant is pretty small, but there are a few tables for seating if you're not getting them to go. I enjoyed my skewers and the flavor but thought that they were a little small for the price. I might try some other skewers if I'm in the area but would likely not purposefully make a trip out of it unless going with friends.

Weekday visits are pretty chill but weekend dinner time gets busy, just something to plan around. Also a heads up on parking, the lot isn't very big so when it's packed it can be tough to find a spot. Would recommend carpooling if you can. I have a pretty low spice tolerance but there are still so many delicious dishes to choose from if you look around the menu. The soups are so hearty and comforting. Insider tip: the tofu egg dish is not on the menu but ask for it anyway. It is so worth it and the best way I can describe it is like eating a savory cloud puff. So unique and so good. The service is always super efficient, food comes out fast, and the staff will get you in and out. Every single dish I've had has been full of flavor and nothing has missed yet.
